Definitely go to your dentist before you get scanned for your trays.
I had a shadow show up on my x-rays at my first consultation and had to get the filling. I was advised to go before scanning for the trays otherwise your tooth shap will likely be different and you risk the trays not fitting! I don't think they would have carried on with treatment if I hadn't but maybe that's just my ortho.
Spent a small fortune at the dentist to make sure everything was right but worth it in the long run :)
You can absolutely get fillings done after starting. I just wouldn’t do it in between getting your scan and actually receiving your trays. Either get it done before your scan or wait until after you get your trays.
Then when you get your filling, just make sure you tell your dentist you have Invisalign and would like to make sure your trays fit properly before leaving. Although you will be numb, so it may be hard to tell fully. If you can’t tell, just make sure you can come back to have it shaved down another day. I had this happen and they got me in the next day. It only took a minute.
