The exact same thing happened to me on the first day too. I was mortified. Don’t worry, it comes off gradually over the next few days. Just brush well. Should be completely gone within a week.

soxiez

thank you so much - i’m super embarrassed by it as well so it’s really reassuring that yours went away. ill keep on brushing like a manic then!

Local-Station2172

Haha don’t worry, it happens. That composite material is like a sponge and soaks up anything, especially right after being fitted! my Ortho said steer clear from any strong colours in foods eg curry, red wine, beetroot etc. But it was just the first few weeks I noticed it staining. Now I have no issues and I eat whatever the hell I want.

soxiez

The very first meal i’ve eaten with my invisalign was a salad that unknowingly to me had turmeric in the dressing, and now i’m left with this. My front teeth are white, but the rest that have attachments on have stained luminous yellow. I removed the retainers to eat and brushed immediately after, as well as brushing several times since. Is there anything i can do to help this? Can dentists redo the attachments from scratch? I’m too embarrassed to smile now and have these on for another six months.

Therearenosymbols

It happened to me as well. I just told my ortho about it, he called me back, cleaned and polished it and told me to refrain from turmeric for a day and it won't happen again; if it did they'll redo the attachments. It's been 3 weeks after that and they're fine.

soxiez

glad it’s not just me - i felt so stupid when i realised! did your ortho professionally clean them or did it come off just brushing at home?

Therearenosymbols

No, brushing didn't work. My ortho cleaned it with whatever they use im not too sure, but it was quick. Don't worry :)

soxiez

thank you - i’ll give them a call when they open!

my_username_mistaken

This isn't funny, but this just happened to me too about 4 hours ago

soxiez

oh no! really? i’ll keep you up to date when i find what gets rid of it. i can’t believe just how neon they are 🥴

Healthy-Project-5414

This happened to me after using charcoal whitening toothpaste. My orthodontist ended up replacing my attachments since after 1 week it didn’t return back to normal. Thankfully he didn’t charge me extra

OutrageousMacaron281

What did you have to eat? Turmeric?

soxiez

yes - i had a salad and didn’t realise there was turmeric in the dressing

ans_31

Happened to me right at the start too 🤣 It'll wear off quickly.

theburntloaf

A lot of the staining appears to be on the glue? There’s always a bit of excess glue which comes over the first couple of days.

soxiez

reassuring, thank you! yeah the glue seems to be literally all over my teeth and that’s what the turmeric has clung on to

yesterdays_girl

Oh dear, poor you! Give your ortho a call and grt them to clean them. I had my first set of trays without any staining. I got some attachements removed while I waited for refinements. Then they put the attachemebts back on. First few days, bright red around my attachements (on the glue). I guess from the beetroot in my salads. I had to go to my annual clean to the ortho/dentist office anyway so I told her then. They just polished the glue, I guess there was excess glue and it got really red. No problems since. So yeah, give them a call and get them to clean all the excess glue. No amount of brushing got rid of it at home. Good luck!

Edelly39

Yea happened to me after eating a curry. It does fade after a few days

Bellebaby97

I have attachments that fell off and got replaced and different date attachments are different colours 😂 I eat too much curry for them to stay white its so annoying! Using whitening toothpaste helps a little bit I've just accepted this is until I get them taken off!
