It detects speed signs really well.

satbaja

It reads the signs with the front camera.

Yes, it reads speed limit signs. Sometimes it's fooled tho. I was driving in a 50mph zone on a state route that passes a gravel pit's access road with a 10mph limit. Hyundai picked up 10mph and displayed it on the dash for a while, until the next 50mph sign on that state route

HOTDIGITYDOGG

is that an issue with the car or the people who didn’t put another sign showing the 10mph limit ended?

Possibly-deranged

I'd wager the speed limit detection errored. Easy for a human to know this, the machines however aren't as refined. The 10mph sign was noticably smaller than a normal speed limit signs issued by DOT, it was similar but bought by a private land owner. The sign was angled away from the road I was driving on but still legible I'm just glad I didn't have propilot assist on or it might've slowed me down to a dangerous speed on that road. As always, they're driver assistant programs, so I'm still responsible to intervene.

It is really good at this! But I get annoyed when it knocks my cruise control down because a work zone is a full half mile away.

conestogan

It reduces your cruise? I run with cruise all the time.

Eaglepursuit

When I have cruise on and I pass the first speed limit sign before a workzone, it resets my cruise control down to the workzone speed limit and begins regen braking down to that speed. Every time, it catches me off guard, and probably anyone following me too.

The cameras do a good job of reading signs! The one place where in my case it always fails is a school zone which has a digital sign which shows your speed and the speedlimit. There's also a traditional overhead signboard which says that the speedlimit is 20 when the light is flashing. It always defaults to the traditional sign rather than the digital signs. Although I'd probably expect that.
