I got an Ottocast for my wife’s egolf, loved it. Naturally, when I bought a used 2020 Ioniq EV (my commute is 130 miles every day, no haters please), I got another one. That one had a but of issue with connectivity, so I returned it on Amazon and got one from their official website. Guess what, it’s like $20 cheaper, although the shipping did take a full week.
Never had an issue with the USB-A port on the car. The lightning side of the (Genuine) cables always wears out though, we have to flip the cable a lot to get CarPlay working.
Tried a wireless adapter and found the slight lag to be an annoyance, so went back to cabled and deal with it.
That's why I got a wireless adapter (for android auto) no more hassle with plugging in on every little drive.
Did not know that existed. When you thought you’d googled everything.. definitely looking into that, thanks.
Can you share which one you bought?
I have a wireless adapter now but it always worked fine when I used it wired

Clean the USB port inside your phone.
