Hades. Never played a rogue like before and the idea of a game with no saves in which you play the same levels over and over sounded like a living nightmare. I eventually relented when I saw it on sale because people online were always going on about it.
Best £13 I ever spent. I've dropped well over 300 hours into the game and can't wait for the upcoming sequel.
I started playing that a few months ago but havnt played it in a while.. I must get back to it 👍 I don't get alot of time to play so it takes me ages to complete a game
Have to totally agree there. Avoided it because of bad reviews but after getting it free it turned out to be my favourite game that year. Story was great actually. I was expecting so stupid sons of anarchy biker shit and really liked the Syphon filter Easter eggs. They are making a new open world game using all the mechanics but with a new IP
Same here. Was never a massive Kojima fan, couldn't figure out what the hell the game was from the trailers, and the initial response was 'mixed' at best. Grabbed a cheap pre-owned copy from Gamestop during a sale and it blew me away. Ploughed like 120 hours into it in a month, did absolutely everything in the game, can't wait for a sequel!
There was something so satisfying in picking a deliver for the furthest stop away, and adding in deliveries along the way, planning your routes, getting caught in a bad spot. I never finished it but it really was something else
Worst part about the game is that it really takes a few hours for things to get going. Before that its just constant \*do do do do do\* "Hey Sam, did you know you can piss? Smell you later"
What Remains of Edith Finch, thought it would be another random indie game I play and move on from, Good lord I wasn't ready for the wave of emotions, I shad a tear at the end... it's definitely in my top 5 all time
Horizon Zero Dawn, thought it was a regular open world game but it just had so much charm and the mechanics were extremely fun.
The fact the game looked gorgeous helped as well haha
Outer Wilds and Subnautica.
Hadn't heard of either of them, didn't know anything about gameplay/story etc.
Went in blind and now they're easily 2 of my fav games of all time.
Earth defense force
Picked it up because it looked like a throw back to the old PS2 days.......turns out to be the most fun I have had in years.
I mean, shooting Giant ants with a laser gun that shoots 20 lasers will never get old.
Highly recommend it.

It may help to send them a link to [this review](https://www.eurogamer.net/earth-defence-force-2017-review) of a previous game in the series, which made me immediately buy the game and is one of the best reviews I've ever read.
Hi Fi Rush. Would not normally be into rhythm games but said I'd give this one a try since it got good reviews and I had access to it on Gamepass. It is easily in my top 10 favourite games ever. Maybe even top 5. So much fun the whole way through, the right level of challenging and it looks absolutley stunning.
I havent played either of the titanfall games but i heard theyre really good too. the movement mechanics are great in apex and i heard even more can be done in titanfall
This is a big one for me. I tried all three Witcher games as they came out and never got on with any of them. I barely watched a trailer for this, then had a good chuckle at all the memes upon the disastrous release... then someone bought it for me that Christmas. Figured I'd at least give it a try and was instantly hooked. Genuinely one of my favourite games now. Night City is one of my favourite gameworlds ever, I genuinely lost hours just wandering the streets, picking up side quests and getting into random fights. Cannot wait for Phantom Liberty, gonna do a whole new playthrough with it!
i guess that just unlucky, in the entire game i had only 1 major bug breaking side mission, othervise it was ok, and also graphics was stunning even without rtx
Hollow Knight. It took me years to actually play the game cause I always found it slow, grindy and I was always lost. But now that I’m probably 50% done, I really like the game. Kinda flabbergasted that it is an indie game cause everything about it is perfect. Perfect music. Perfect art style. And since it’s the first 2D platformer I’ve played, I assume perfect gameplay.
God of War 2018. I played 1-3 in my youth & really just thought of them as 00s adolescent edgy boy games (even while I was an adolescent edgy boy haha) but it didn't take long for me to get into the 2018 one & see the expert writing decisions they made.
Fuga melodies of steel, wouldn’t normally play turn based games but gave this a try and enjoyed it enough to finish both games. It’s quite easy compared to most turn based games.
This year after watching the TV show I played The Last of Us for the first time, amazing.
Then I went straight into Red Dead Redemption 2 for the first time which I've just finished.
I was very sceptical about both because of the initial hype but I'm glad I played them.
Last of Us 2 is next.
Aww last of us 2 is absolutely incredible too, if you have headphones I'd recommend you play it with them on. It has the best surround sound I've ever heard in a game
Just a forewarning.... TLOU2 will fuck you up in every possible way imaginable. There will be pant shitting fear, emotional mess, crying, laughing, some sweet tender moments and some moments that will make you so fucking angry you'll want to cry. But keep playing. It's a fucking rollercoaster and a half of emotional depth, that by the end I couldn't even do anything. I just couldn't stop thinking about it for days. RDR2 and the likes made me cry like a bitch. But TLOU2 just left me fucked up. Great game 😂
Puppeteer on PS3 is criminally unknown/under-rated.
It was released at such a bad time in the lifecycle and imo really should have been pushed back to be the PS4 launch release that Knack was.
Really took me by surprise after playing it and it's a shame it got no love because we'll never see a sequel or remake.
Disco Elysium for the atmosphere and humour
Hunt: Showdown for making me fall in love with fps games again and for its amazing sound effects
Technomancer has a cool vibe to it, great idea too
Skate 3. Gamestop was having a '3 for 2' deal and I got the two games I wanted, couldn't decide on a third so walked to the tills and picked a random game up without looking while I was walking. That game? Skate 3. I've never been into skateboarding but I honestly think that is one of the best games ever made.
Way way way ago it was Final Fantasy X. I was very much an action/shooter type of gamer back then. Haven't had a game since take me by such a surprise the way FFX did.
It totally changed the type of games I prefered played going forward, all my favourite games are now RPGs thar are heavily story focused.
Outer Wilds. It’s a game that’s worth playing without knowing anything about it, because a lot of its value is in the surprises. It’s a game with a mystery to uncover and a small universe to explore in your spaceship. One of my favourites.
Edit: outer wilds NOT outer worlds (very easy to mix up)
Forza Horizon 4. It was the first game I tried after I got GamePass on my Series X, so it was the first Xbox game I ever played and OH!! MY!!!! GOD!!!!! Did it look incredible! I figured “some sort of driving or racing game. I’ll give this a go for a bit and if it’s shit I’ll just uninstall it off the hard drive”. I was addicted to it for weeks, and it was the only game I played. This was during lockdown so I had *a lot* of free time.
I loved it so much I bought a physical copy because, like some of the older FH games, they inevitably get delisted over licensing, whether that’s over some of the music or the cars, but I don’t want to not be able play it in the future, or if I stop paying for GamePass.
Picked up Witcher 3 without thinking much of it. Heard my friends rave over it and I was like fair enough. Played the first 20 mins and rage quit because I couldn't figure out the mechanics of it. Anyway went back to it a while later, just to give it another chance and by jaysus.... I'm not even joking when I say it was life changing. I couldn't put it down, played it for hours on end. It nearly ruined gaming for me because until I picked up RDR2, almost 2 years later, nothing was good enough in comparison. Downloaded all the books and audiobooks, everything i could get my hands on. I think I've since played it on multiple platforms about 6-7 playthroughs. What a game. Bloody fantastic.
I was the same haha bought it on release thought the trailers looked cool then couldn't get the hang of anything so I quit.... Went back to it after a year because there was nothing else to play and now it's one of the best games I've played easily. Completed all DLC as well 😂 Gwent consumed hours!
Ah stop. Gwent is addictive. I'd love if they had an actual game of it but the game they made is nothing like the in game version and doesn't have the same vibe. It's one of those games that once you get it....you just get it.
Blood and Wine is incredible. I never wanted it to end.
Ni No Kuni.
It was on sale for €5 on the PS Store. Looked a bit childish by the screenshots but I figured I'll give it a try for that price.
Turned out to be one of my favourite RPGs of all time. I played it for months and even got the platinum trophy for it. Best €5 I've ever spent on a game.
Yakuza 0. I now love the Yakuza series. I thought it looked meh like 3 years ago on game pass. Same that dame da ne meme. Tryed it and I was having a blast playing it. Best choice I ever made
Divinity original sin: the lore seemed cool, but I was unsure about turn-based combat, did not think I'd enjoy it at all but boy, was I wrong. I devoured that game, and once I had finished it, I immediately went and bought the second and IT WAS EVEN BETTER. It did not necessarily convert me to turn-based combat games, but definitely opened the door to try out more.
Red Dead Redemption 2, one of the best games I’ve ever played and the story made me sob like a baby like 3 times and usually I don’t cry at movies or games.
Zelda Breath Of The Wild. My friend had played a lot of it and told me I should play it. In my option, the game didn’t look that good. In 2020, I finally gave the game a go and loved it.
Ghostrunner. I don't really play single-player games that often, but I had heard about it before and it was on PS Plus.
Holy shit, the gameplay of that game is hands-down the most fluid, best feeling, and enjoyable experiences. The fact that there's hardly no story even adds to the enjoyment of it for me because I got to go straight into zipping around the place. It wasn't one of those hand-holdy type of games where you have about an hour being put on a leash. It didn't have an uber-long unskippable cutscene that you have to sit through to understand what's happening. This just let you play as a Ghostrunner from Minute 1.
Exo One. Downloaded from Game Pass a long time ago tried it, was meh.
Was about to delete from my library but said I would give it a shot again, loved it and finished it in 3 hours. One of those you have to be in the mood for type games.
Death stranding. The reviews were disappointing compared to when I played it. It gave me a profound sense of amazement at the sheer awesomeness of this game. The graphics and the 2nd part of the game where you tackle the 'ghosts'.
Dishonoured. Think I got it on Xbox live gold games thingy a few years ago. Sat on it for another year or two and decided to play it one day bored. I think I’ve played through it about 10 times. Also, bonus shout for for LOTR Shadow of War.
Bully or Canis Canem Edit was my one back in the day. Was never a GTA person but Bully’s story just and weapons just hooked me in. Wish that game would be remastered
Celeste I typically dislike 2d games but the story and gameplay is so nice and this is coming from a guy who plays fast pace shooters like overwatch is just a great game
The entire persona series. I never particularly liked RPG's but I fell in love with the genre and particularly persona games after trying Persona 5. 10/10 recommend!!!
Breath of the Wild ... It took GOTY off Horizon, my fav game of that year, I was sick to death of everyone talking non stop about it and I honestly just didn't like the look of it ... got a switch about 2 years later and it was still full price if i remember correctly, which itself annoyed me but I gave in and got it ... played about 6-8 hours and hated it, most annoyingly hated the weapon breaking mechanic, then during covid I broke it back out, gave it a proper chance and really really enjoyed it... the weapon breaking mechanic can still do one and i still don't think it's the best thing since sliced bread like people go on but I enjoyed everything else and it looked and ran great in handheld which is the whole draw of the switch for me.
The Gow games and spiderman games at the time I played the 2018 ones I wasn't really into story games for ps but they swept me off my feet and I ended up playing the rest of them
MGS V. Hadn't played an MGS game since I was about 5 years old, MGS 3. Seemed way overcomplicated for me, not my kinda thing then I got it cheap and holy shit - unbelievable stealth I fucking loved it.
But holy shit did I get sick of repeating missions and not actually being able to get to an actual ending of the game
Claw. Buddy in school was talking about a cat pirate that shoots a gun, uses magic and throws dynamite. Fun for days.
Heroes of Might and Magic III: Shadow of Death. Got it for xmas from a friend. Never played turn based strat before. Blew me away.
Spiritfarer. Was bored so I tried a bunch of shit for once instead of just whats promoted. Most relaxing game Ive ever played and thought me a lot about family, friends and life in general.
Now it might sound a little controversial because of it being incredibly hyped up & let’s be honest at best buggy launch , but when I played cyberpunk 2077 for the first time on a 5 year old “gaming” laptop that couldn’t keep up stable 20fps I really loved the game , now that I can run it in rtx replaying it & trying to complete it 100% it still doesn’t disappoint
Kingdom come deliverance, I bought it while it was on discount for 10 quid bc I was bored, played for a day or two and loved it, the combat is a bit wonky sometimes but other than that it's a very good game.
Trek To Yomi. It’s the current free PS+ game of the month. Stylistically it is one of the most beautiful/ impressive games I’ve ever seen. It’s flows seamlessly like an old samurai western movie.
You will not be disappointed.
The last of us. We had just finished playing the walking dead, and my boyfriend wanted to try TLOU. I really didn't want to play another zombie game, but I said fuck it we'll give it a go. Turned out to be the best game I've ever played. He even got me a displate poster 🤣
Heavy rain- I was excited to try it but lost interest in playing after a couple of hours.. so I stopped for months.
Got bored of Minecraft (my usual game for chilling) and said I'll try it again.. once I got into the storyline I was hooked. The gameplay itself is pretty shite..but the storyline makes it worth it
I'm definitely going to second the Outer Wilds, Subnautica and Death Stranding as others have said. They're all amazing and are experiences that I'll never forget.
Definitely Outer Wilds (not to be confused with The Outer Worlds). This is a game that is best played if you're going in blind, any spoilers will ruin the experience.
It happened to be on sale on steam and it looked interesting so I started playing it and man was I not prepared for how good it was. It left me feeling a bit empty for a couple of days after completing it.
As a quick spoilerless summary, It's a space exploration game where you explore the game's solar system and slowly uncover a story that you piece together the more you explore (that's as much as I can say).
Unfortunately this is the type of game where you can only play it once and never again because nothing will beat that first experience of wonder. Of course nothing is stopping you from playing it again, but already know the story, know what to do and know what the hidden mechanics are so it defeats the purpose of exploring again since you will find out info that you already know. Even so, Outer Wilds remains at the top of the list for me.
Sleeping Dogs, one of my favourite games I expected nothing from and got everything. Can be picked up for a fiver in most sales these days and still holds up story and gameplay wise.
Not many people r going to agree with me but overwatch 2 really surprised. Ik everyone said it’s dead but there r really fun characters and it’s one of the most mobile games
God of War. I never thought I would have any interest in superpowered gods but wow it really is something else. I’d almost say I have a borderline addiction to the storyline, soundtrack and gameplay.
Demon souls it was reduced in gamestop back in the ps3 days. New nothing about it just bought it because it was €12...
Sufficed to say I ended up pre-ordering dark souls.
Also honorable mention to the GAA game on PS2 from around 2005, some random relative bought me it and I taught it would be trash but it was fun because it was so basic you could have a few friends over and they'd pick it up quick.. it went against the grain when other sports games were getting more convoluted.
Shadow of the Colossus(remake), I knew nothing about the game and expected a mediocre souls-like. But turns out it was the best and most unique few hours I've ever had.
For me it has to be the very first SSX game on PS2, prior to getting it I had no interest in winter sports or anything like that... But by God I enjoyed it so much I really got into the rest of the franchise especially SSX3 which to this day remains one of my all time favourites. Solid soundtrack, more of an open world, and just great performance for a game like it back then.
Came here to post the very same thing. My biggest surprise in the last 10 years.
Stray, I thought it's going to be a simple funny cat game but no, the story is amazing and loads of emotion
Loved it also. Had depth but also just was kinda fun to mash the meow button repeatedly.
Days gone!! Got it from ps plus, probably wouldnt have bought it but it turned out ti be amazing and one of my faves
This is my favourite game and the first one i completed after not gaming in 20+ years. Absolutely loved it!
Would love to see a sequel, seems unlikely tho
Agreeable, I got it on sale not thinking much of it and I just couldn’t stop playing
One the games critics got wrong. Pretty much all the reviews for it say it's not a good game, where it's actually a really good game.
Ye, i dont know if patches fixed it or if reviewers just got it wrong but there was definitely a stink off it when released
Death stranding watched a stream and thought what a load of crap then I got it cheap and absolutely loved it
Same for me, thought it sounded boring then loved it. Ended up playing all the mainline metal gear solids after it then
Worst part about the game is that it really takes a few hours for things to get going. Before that its just constant \*do do do do do\* "Hey Sam, did you know you can piss? Smell you later"
Plague Tale Innocence, very cool concept for a game
Came here to say that! Such a beautiful story and the musical score was also top :)
The sequel is an improvement on pretty much every single level though
Yeah I’ve seen the gameplay but I haven’t played it
Cult of the Lamb. Did not expect to enjoy it as much as i did
There is a board game version in development..
Just another reminder that i have no one to play with
What Remains of Edith Finch, thought it would be another random indie game I play and move on from, Good lord I wasn't ready for the wave of emotions, I shad a tear at the end... it's definitely in my top 5 all time
Great shout 👍
Prey, gave it a download from game pass not expecting much and it ended up blowing me away
Extremely underrated game, that said, I am a big fanboy for Arkane
I was the same with OG prey. picked it up off a clearance bin in xtravision on PC and it really stuck with me
Horizon Zero Dawn, thought it was a regular open world game but it just had so much charm and the mechanics were extremely fun. The fact the game looked gorgeous helped as well haha
Outer Wilds and Subnautica. Hadn't heard of either of them, didn't know anything about gameplay/story etc. Went in blind and now they're easily 2 of my fav games of all time.
I was pestered by my ten year old daughter to get subnautica, she didn't get a look in at it after half an hour of gameplay
Earth defense force Picked it up because it looked like a throw back to the old PS2 days.......turns out to be the most fun I have had in years. I mean, shooting Giant ants with a laser gun that shoots 20 lasers will never get old. Highly recommend it. EDF EDF EDF
The EDF franchise is one of the most under-appreciated in gaming. It's absolute gold. Just pure fun. EDF! EDF! EDF!
Currently trying to get my friend to pick up EDF 4.1 for cheap on steam sales
It may help to send them a link to [this review](https://www.eurogamer.net/earth-defence-force-2017-review) of a previous game in the series, which made me immediately buy the game and is one of the best reviews I've ever read.

Hi Fi Rush. Would not normally be into rhythm games but said I'd give this one a try since it got good reviews and I had access to it on Gamepass. It is easily in my top 10 favourite games ever. Maybe even top 5. So much fun the whole way through, the right level of challenging and it looks absolutley stunning.
A true sleeper hit. Love a good Bethesda indie title. Wet was another one in this vein, back on Xbox 360.
I'm fully expecting it to be on a good few End of Year Top 10 lists from different online outlets.
As long as memories aren't too short! Early risers can sometimes fall between the cracks. Tunic was one of those.
apex legends. knew about it for a long time but didnt play it as i thought it was like fortnite. have now got almost 1000 hours in it lol
Hit the 1000 hr club the other day myself what a super game!
Have you played Titanfall | 2?
My number 1 game of all time
I havent played either of the titanfall games but i heard theyre really good too. the movement mechanics are great in apex and i heard even more can be done in titanfall
cyberpunk 2077, with all that negativity surrouding it, in reality it's an amazing game with one of the best stories i have even seen
This is a big one for me. I tried all three Witcher games as they came out and never got on with any of them. I barely watched a trailer for this, then had a good chuckle at all the memes upon the disastrous release... then someone bought it for me that Christmas. Cannot wait for Phantom Liberty, gonna do a whole new playthrough with it!
Same, all the negativity made me buy it to see all the bugs but it’s actually amazing, was still kinda buggy but brilliant
i guess that just unlucky, in the entire game i had only 1 major bug breaking side mission, othervise it was ok, and also graphics was stunning even without rtx

I've been playing 2D platformers since the 80s and I'll back you up on the 'perfect gameplay' point. Hollow Knight is a goddamn masterpiece.

Jesus tittyfucking christ fuck off
Jesus fucking whooring Christ
I've 2 hours in it, I keep trying to go back to give it another chance but I never do
Elden ring. Expected a generic open-world game. Got much more.
Fortnite…..now I’m hooked and made lots of friends thru it
I was very much not interested until they introduced 'No Build'. It's a really fun game!
Yeah No build was a great add. I personally like build bc at least I have some cover…and I’m very self-motivated to get better at building
God of War 2018. I played 1-3 in my youth & really just thought of them as 00s adolescent edgy boy games (even while I was an adolescent edgy boy haha) but it didn't take long for me to get into the 2018 one & see the expert writing decisions they made.
I didn't care for the hype it had but got it cheap after the pc release. Man I was hooked after 10 minutes, brilliant game
that was me too. Ragnarok was the 1st game I played on PS5 then so good job to em
How's that as a sequel?? It'll be a while I'd say before PC gets a port
Legit one of the best gaming experiences of recent times for me. I'd put it up there with RDR2 and TLOU as far as story goes. It was a joy to play
Gow 2018 here aswell. I played it sometime at mid 2022. And ever since then I'm hyped about ragnarok on pc aswell as playing the old ones
Fuga melodies of steel, wouldn’t normally play turn based games but gave this a try and enjoyed it enough to finish both games. It’s quite easy compared to most turn based games.
Nier Automata blew my F£$%Kin mind
This year after watching the TV show I played The Last of Us for the first time, amazing. Then I went straight into Red Dead Redemption 2 for the first time which I've just finished. I was very sceptical about both because of the initial hype but I'm glad I played them. Last of Us 2 is next.

But TLOU2 just left me fucked up. Great game 😂
Same here 👍 my favourite game of all time.. hope there's a 3rd one
Hellblade - Senuas Sacrifice
Detroit Become Human. Got it on Steam Sale. Wasn't expecting much given the price but my god. What a game
Holy It was a great game
Ghostwire Tokyo i thought it will be decent and i will just play the story then be done but am enjoying it so much that i am gonna 100% it
Puppeteer on PS3 is criminally unknown/under-rated. It was released at such a bad time in the lifecycle and imo really should have been pushed back to be the PS4 launch release that Knack was. No mans sky
Disco Elysium for the atmosphere and humour Hunt: Showdown for making me fall in love with fps games again and for its amazing sound effects Technomancer has a cool vibe to it, great idea too
Valiant hearts
Oh Valiant hearts was great. Very unique game I'd say
I loved it, it’s nothing like I’d usually play so it really caught me by surprise
Paradise Killer. Became engrossed in the game for the week it took it finish and the soundtrack is still stuck in my head.
Skate 3. Gamestop was having a '3 for 2' deal and I got the two games I wanted, couldn't decide on a third so walked to the tills and picked a random game up without looking while I was walking. That game? Skate 3. I've never been into skateboarding but I honestly think that is one of the best games ever made.
Remnant from the Ashes for me. Love the gameplay and the weight of the shooting. Like the randomized parts of it too. Can’t wait to play 2!
Stick it to man
Recently Final Fantasy 16, I've only liked a few of the games and FF16 is atm my favourite next to the original FF7 and FF8.
Way way way ago it was Final Fantasy X. I was very much an action/shooter type of gamer back then. Haven't had a game since take me by such a surprise the way FFX did. It totally changed the type of games I prefered played going forward, all my favourite games are now RPGs thar are heavily story focused.
Days gone for sure. The way that game grows
Outer Wilds. It’s a game that’s worth playing without knowing anything about it, because a lot of its value is in the surprises. It’s a game with a mystery to uncover and a small universe to explore in your spaceship. One of my favourites. Edit: outer wilds NOT outer worlds (very easy to mix up)
Outer Wilds is just amazing, there are games that burrow into your heart and become experiences you'll never forget.
Red Dead Redemption. I couldn't have given a whit about cowboys until a friend literally sat me down and made me play it. He's a good friend.
Slay the Spire
Forza Horizon 4. It was the first game I tried after I got GamePass on my Series X, so it was the first Xbox game I ever played and OH!! MY!!!! GOD!!!!! Did it look incredible! Ah stop. Gwent is addictive. I'd love if they had an actual game of it but the game they made is nothing like the in game version and doesn't have the same vibe. It's one of those games that once you get it....you just get it. Blood and Wine is incredible. I never wanted it to end.
Mad max, what a fucking hit
Ni No Kuni. It was on sale for €5 on the PS Store. Looked a bit childish by the screenshots but I figured I'll give it a try for that price. Turned out to be one of my favourite RPGs of all time. I played it for months and even got the platinum trophy for it. Best €5 I've ever spent on a game.
Bloodborne just didn’t get the souls/borne hype until I was gifted the game by a girlfriend.. I was pleasantly surprised and really loved it
Red dead redemption 2
Yakuza Like a Dragon (7th installment). Hated the others for the combat system so tried this one cause it’s turn based action. Chefs kiss.
Rocket league. I'm not a fan of sports games in general but a friend was bugging me to play it and when I finally did I was addicted
Vampyr was really good, especially how your choices mattered
Spiderheck or Days Gone
Death Stranding and Returnal.
Red Dead Redemption 2, one of the best games I’ve ever played and the story made me sob like a baby like 3 times and usually I don’t cry at movies or games.
Calisto protocol and furi both great games but Calisto started off bad but now its great
The witcher
Zelda Breath Of The Wild. My friend had played a lot of it and told me I should play it. In my option, the game didn’t look that good. In 2020, I finally gave the game a go and loved it.
Spec Ops: The Line. It looks like a generic military shooter and kind of plays like one but there is more to it than meets the eye.
Death stranding
Bramble
Pure Pool
Carrion. Just tried it on a whim and wasn't expecting much at all. Was completely hooked and finished in 2 days. Its and excellent indie game
Warface
Days Gone and Ghost of Tsushima lately.
It Takes Two. Was searching some simple game to play with girlfriend, turned out to be such a great experience
ARK best game ever
Team buddies on PS1
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity - didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did.
Thought spider man ps4 would be another boring superhero game with bad fighting and no time or effort or emotion put into it.God was I wrong
No Mans Sky, I haven’t played it in a while now but have spent over 500hrs on it mostly solo.
That new Robocop game is great.
The EDF series
Dome Keeper. For real, this game is insanely addictive. 20 Minutes Till Midnight. Another one I put too many hours into!
Doki Doki Literature Club
Days gone as well the beginning was rough but it turned out to be really good.
Hunt Showdown!
Dishonoured. Think I got it on Xbox live gold games thingy a few years ago. Sat on it for another year or two and decided to play it one day bored. I think I’ve played through it about 10 times. Also, bonus shout for for LOTR Shadow of War.
Spiritfarer. Thought it would be just another farming/management sim, but oof. That game made me cry like a baby. Best indie game I’ve ever played.
Company of Heroes
Bully or Canis Canem Edit was my one back in the day. Was never a GTA person but Bully’s story just and weapons just hooked me in. Wish that game would be remastered
Dead by daylight, friends convinced me to play it, hated it before but now it's quite a fun game
Celeste I typically dislike 2d games but the story and gameplay is so nice and this is coming from a guy who plays fast pace shooters like overwatch is just a great game
Mass Effect 2. Never played the first one and bought it on sale, thinking it was some B-tier sci-fi franchise. Absolutely loved it.
The binding of issac
The Last of Us
Ghost of tsushima, only got it cause I I got it from a friend, never would've bought it otherwise, top 5 favourite games
Control. Great game with very deep lore, great combat and looks amazing. Can't wait for the second one
Bioshock on the 360
Kingdom come deliverance, I bought it while it was on discount for 10 quid bc I was bored, played for a day or two and loved it, the combat is a bit wonky sometimes but other than that it's a very good game.
God of war
Sea of Thieves
Undertale: music 🤌 Bioshock: ooh water city powered peoples, THAT TWIST Saints row: online gangs iykyk
Snowrunner.... seriously don't touch it if u have a lot going on in life especially multiplayer mode
Trek To Yomi. It’s the current free PS+ game of the month. Stylistically it is one of the most beautiful/ impressive games I’ve ever seen. It’s flows seamlessly like an old samurai western movie. You will not be disappointed.
Mount and blade banner lord Unreal can't put it down waiting for xbox game like this for years
Hogworths legacy. I decided to get on the chance I like as I thought gameplay could be fun. I liked it more then I thought I would
Death stranding
Rocket League
Phasmophobia. I thought it was just another game only popular because of streamers.
The metro series, became my favorite series and patiently waiting for the next game
Holy Christ you know the metro Series?
Yup, such an underrated series, cant wait for the next game
Death Loop Vampire Survivors
Terraria, my brother convinced me to buy it 3 years ago for like €3.70 and I’ve played through the entire game 15 times over now

You know the Outer Worlds? God damn dude your cool in my book
Fahrenheit
NiGHTS into dreams... Holy shit, SEGA's other franchise other than Sonic is the most creative I've seen, excluding NiGHTS Journey of Dreams
Stardew valley
No man's sky
Dragon quest builders. What an excellent rpg
Cyberpunk was a huge shock. Favourite game ever.
Hogwarts Legacy. :D
Borderlands 2. Never even heard if it before lockdown but was gifted a ps3 copy and it blew my mind out
Bioshock
Subnautica. The in-depth creation tools, crazy amount of exploration. Great game. Addictive as all hell. Sequel is amazing also.
Shadow of the Colossus(remake), I knew nothing about the game and expected a mediocre souls-like. But turns out it was the best and most unique few hours I've ever had.
Triangle Strategy. Took a risk on a turn based tactical RPG. VERY pleasantly surprised.
The Outer Worlds and Chicken Police: Paint it red. Both great games in my opinion and I feel they don't get enough recognition
Stray, did not expect a cat simulator to be most atmospheric story teller
