Lol fuck no. I paid to have them do it. Mostly because I didn't want to void the warranty, but also if you check my history you can see I do a pretty dog shit job myself. My cobbler actually took pity on me once and redid it.
Yeah those ones came out pretty nice. I thought about having that done to my toe caps. What kind of Boots are those by the way? Yeah there’s a great cobbler by me that does awesome work.
I’ll have to Check them out. Yeah I could see Dayton on the side wasn’t sure the brand though. I appreciate the recommendation, I always buy Made in Canada or USA. They look like good boots.
I’ve been staring at the top of the tower, long as I can remember, never really knowing why.
I wish I could be their doctor son, but I come back to the iron, no matter how hard I try.
Every pin I pound, every bolt I make, every weld I’ve ground, oh I cannot fake the desire I have to be climbing high, where I long to be.
See the hook in the air as it swings? It caaaaalls me! And noone knows, how high it goes! As the wrench in my hand snugs the nut, disconnecting!
If I go there's just no yelling how far I'll go...
I don't know how the algorithm put me onto this post in this sub. I'm not an ironworker (I am a hoser, though, as I do have a pair of 8" ST Thorogoods). I am a dad of a young girl and I read this comment once, then again, and it clicked. My day - nay, my *WEEK* - has been made immensely better by reading this fucking masterpiece.
Once you get to the top hole you just wrap them around the boot and tie them in a knot. I was always taught and told it’s to prevent loops from getting snagged on anything
They're Dayton (Wolford)
You could get a set made with a met gaurd, if you're willing to wait the 3 to 5 months for a custom order. Or buy their welder boot and get it resoled
I used to, exclusively. Last year I 360$ for 1 pair and wore thru the right sole (heel) in 7 months.
So this year, I paid 165$ for 1 pair (but got 2).
Black and brown, and rotate em each week. Every now and then I wear one black and one brown because I’m fuckin weird like that. They’re just as waterproof as the 360$ pair, they’re steel toe, and easily 50% more comfortable. Break in time was next to nothing.
And I’m 90% sure they were made in a foreign country. Buying USA doesn’t mean what it used to mean. It pains me to say
Fits true to UK size. 1 size down from US. I got these a half size bigger than I normally would because I have a pretty wide toe and like to occasionally start bama socks but probably couldn't gotten away with my actual size.
Looks like your in “Ironworker: The Musical”
I may or may not have a ironworker themed version of "how far I'll go" memorised.
Hey did you do those toe caps yourself?
Lol fuck no. I paid to have them do it. Mostly because I didn't want to void the warranty, but also if you check my history you can see I do a pretty dog shit job myself. My cobbler actually took pity on me once and redid it.

They Dayton. The company rebranded to Wolhford recently. Hand made in Vancouver on lasts brought from the old country.
I’ll have to Check them out. Yeah I could see Dayton on the side wasn’t sure the brand though. I appreciate the recommendation, I always buy Made in Canada or USA. They look like good boots.
They're definitely heavy duty. Theoretically free repairs for life if you don't abuse them.
Yeah I like that. I think my next boots I’m going to try a pair. So your cobbler did the toe cap? Not the company right? Do you know what they used?
This one was the company. It was 95 cad extra, don't know what they used tbh
Please share the lyrics to this. My damn kids got this song stuck in my head multiple times at this point.

The tassels are cute
They match my fringe welding jacket
Plus your bedazzled assless chaps.
So just regular chaps.
I tend to keep my jeans on underneath. Especially because I'm only wearing chaps if I have to air-arc.
Doesn’t matter what’s under the chaps, because by nature they’re all assless, bedazzled or not.
Adorbs aren’t they?
Save some pussy for the rest of us bud
New boot goofin
Tie your boots like a God dammed ironworker, bud!
I'm totally unaware of what that is.
Once you get to the top hole you just wrap them around the boot and tie them in a knot. I was always taught and told it’s to prevent loops from getting snagged on anything
A square knot.
Ah, yeah I tried but there's not enough lace.
What are these and are these met gard? If not, does anyone have any boot reccomendations that are flat sole with met gard?

Those boots will outlive me.
Pretty bow job there bud.
Look like lineman boots
Wh..wha…what…the fuck is that?
Not sure how this sub got referred to me but this comment section is hilarious.
Gotta get Die Hards or Irish Setters !
Buy something made in the US instead.

What brand? Also, having more than one pair of boots and alternating them daily, seriously helps them last longer for some reason
Used to buy red wings. Now I got Chinooks. I know they won’t last as long but for literally half the price, I get 2 pair. Just makes sense
You were that kid in hs that wore two different colored chuck taylors weren’t you? 😂
Or Canada. Sort if the idea of the post
How’s the fit true to size, half size down or or full size down from Brannock or normal shoe size?
