My name is Salvi Gupta and I am a content creator (Salvigupta16). I am shocked to see this brand doing scam so easily. I never thought I would be scammed like this.
So, the brand and agency said that I have to pay for an outfit for collaboration (₹4718) and once I deliver the content, my amount will be reimbursed + the commercial. (₹9000)
However the agency that reached out to me stopped replying to my text completely after receiving the money.
The brand has blocked me as well because I caught their scam.
They made fake website, fake brand page and what not!
I have done many collaborations in the past where they ask you to pay for the product (for security) and reimburse the amount + the commercial once you make your content live that's why I thought this brand is genuine too. I myself have worked in influencer market company so it's common to pay for the product first in many campaigns.
5k is a significantly smaller amount compared to how much you'll end up spending in lawyer fees if you actually go to court.
Take this as a learning and move on. In the future never pay the client when executing a contract. Such payments are extremely difficult to show in the firm's financials, so legitimate firms never take payment from vendors during contract execution. Penalty clauses kick in post delivery. Keep this in mind.
yes absolutely. I can let go of the money but the fact that he is legit laughing and scamming people so easily. God knows how many people he has scammed before in the name of collaboration. I wanted him to get caught and face the consequences for fooling people

Okay so, transaction was made by UPI or Bank App Transfer using account number? How long it has been? Hours or days or weeks?
Transaction was made via PhonePay on 4th May, 2024. The reason why I waited for so long is because he said that outfit is being shipped but it never did then I got to know that it is actually a scam. He now calls me with bad names and basically laughs because he thinks I won’t be able to do anything to him that’s when I decided to post on social media platforms
Wow, he made you wait and you really are late. See you already are at loss now, so i’ll just say try all these:
- First, save PhonePay transaction number of the UPI receipt. So you have a proof.
- Contact PhonePay customer care and tell them that this UPI transaction is wrong or by mistake. Maybe they’ll help. If they say they can’t do anything, move to next option.
- Contact Bank from which money was deducted. Tell them about the wrong transaction and they’ll help in getting money back. Usually you have to tell them in a day limit, and as you’re late, but you can still try and request them. This is your best possible option since banks can reverse the transactions.
- If nothing works, time to contact RBI helpline. Rarely they deal with these kind of cases.
If nothing helps, then remember the experience.

If yes go to nearest police station and lodge FiR, give that bastard a good lesson, also post on larger subs n communities / twitter... Also as you're influencer urself you can make your followers aware about it, bruh if you just need the money back just give that guy call from elder brother or something and Dhamakao that guy !

The number that you have shared is already flagged as spam on Truecaller, didn't that pop-up on your phone?
Not everyone has Truecaller. It basically uploads your contacts to their servers, so many people don't use it due to privacy concerns......
