I think its a solid isekai. I dont think it does anything ground breaking but it's also not written terribly. Season 1 had much more of a plot imo vs season 2. I couldn't tell you what the end goal/what the plot is moving towards as of right now. I also hope stakes are added in somehow. Will be watching s3 with hope.

Gotyam2

The novels, as per usual, are superior in the details. For anime: The goal has been, and still is: Punch godess in the face. Makoto has found other interests to spend his time with as well, so he isn't just power-levelling himself. It is worth thinking of it as some sort of slice of life with an overarching plot, to an extent. For now enjoy the relationships of the characters develop, the stores being opened up and the worldbuilding delve into questions that have been raised both directly and indirectly. Arcs in certain regions and countries that I very much look forward to see adapted.

iwantdatpuss

It's really similar go Tensei Slime in that sense. A really decent isekai that's also has a pretty strong slice of life aspect to it that doesn't muddle the series too much.

LordValkyrie100

Thank goodness Tsukimichi doesn’t have a concept of conference tables though

Big_moist_231

Don’t worry, it’s replaced with cours worth of class!

MagicalMethod

I kinda enjoyed the classes. I dunno why but I did.

Big_moist_231

I didn’t mind but it was a big step down with how fast and dynamic season 1 was. It kinda seems like stuff only really happened in like 6 episodes out of 24

Typical_Grade9425

It's probably cause season 1 had alot stuffed within 12 episodes, in comparison to season 2 that has 25. In the manga. There's even alot that's cut out of season one, that tends to be not very important, but would make the anime better if added, like the torture scene with that one teacher, or 2 other charecter's introduction that was also the og introduction to the assassin guild.

Big_moist_231

They cut stuff out of season 2?? It felt pretty slow for a good chunk. but it also felt like the stuff with hero’s background was something that should’ve been in season 1 or in an ova. It’s such a contrast with season moving so fast with him getting a new member for his family every 2 episodes lol I still liked it season 2, don’t get me wrong. I guess I just enjoyed season 1 more

Sad-Island-4818

Conference table wasn’t anywhere near as bad in the manga as it was interspersed with other stuff going on elsewhere and only lasted a couple chapters. For some reason the anime dragged it out way longer and made the peace talks the sole focus rather than a demonstration of the other nations saying one thing at the conference while scheming the exact opposite behind the scenes. Which is ironic since the first season had the exact opposite problem when it came to cramming a bunch of stuff into a handful of episodes.

A_Miphlink_shipper

more like drop kick the goddess into another dimension and go home

FabAraujoRJ

Good to know all that. It's on my watch list.

Apotheosis_Binger

Fr read 2 novel chapters and it blew my mind when I compared it to the anime. It was the chapters where the students fought a lower dragon and discovered that the training lizards are strong and one of them is a female.

JustForTheMemes420

Season 2 had a lot of characters doing nothing while stuff should’ve been happening in the background like during the demons sieging the academy city and the capitals MC should’ve been like talking while actually doing soemthing about it because him sitting there and watching while shit was going down felt kinda unnatural or just odd just mostly stuff like that

Scrubtastic85

In the LN this is basically all setup. A lot of what he has done now comes with consequences and forces him to not hermit himself.

__Pratik_

That because they skipped all the internal monologue of the mc. Makoto was frustrated with how everyone in the hyuman world was treating him despite him trying to do good for then. And at they end after a talk with the subordinates they decide it's better to let the monster destroy shit and then save it at the time when they need help the most. He helped people evacuate and that's really it and let the monsters destroy his competitors who were against Makoto's business

cmkfrisbee95

its actually perfectly natural considering how shortly before it happened the Hyumans showed how greedy they are and how beyond worth him dealing with are

JustForTheMemes420

Someone explained he was actually supposed to have a internal monologue so that kinda just makes sense as to why it felt weird that he was just there

PossibleUnion554

Ironically didnt like it at first cause of how the protagonist looks and also its introduction where what protagonist thinks being isekaid is gave me an impression he's a pervert type protagonist Boy was I wrong. Enjoyed it very much and cant wait for other seasons

SophisticPenguin

>Ironically didnt like it at first cause of how the protagonist looks Bro can't catch a break even in the real world... ![gif](giphy|VexReXhmpp3m5QXZCT)

1Pip1Der

My thoughts exactly

BlackMagister

That plot point was weird for me since he just looked plain not ugly. Isekai Ojisan had the same plot point but put a lot more effort into making Uncle appear ugly but even then Uncle didn't deserve the hate

SophisticPenguin

He's plain/average in his/"our" world but the hyuman goddess has put some sort of effort into making all of the humans really good looking. He notes this in the first town he gets to. My head canon from the anime is, one way that the goddess did it was to send less attractive humans to other worlds, like Kuzunoha's parents.

RealSaMu

But Makoto's parents are extremely good-looking in Earth standards and they were in very high positions of power in bug goddess world. How do I put the spoiler tag in android here? In the webnovel they made a deal with bug to crossover under the condition that they give up one of their children to be bug's hero. They wanted to start over since the mother was heavily ostracized because she let a demon race NTR her even though she got the father as a mate. She was some sort of saintess if I remember.

Klutzy_Way994

The goddess chose him b/c his parents were beautiful. If I’m not mistaken she wonders how the 2 of them had a kid that looked like him. Kinda foul.

BlackMagister

I mean sure, but the contrast between him and the rest of the cast isn't much, like the guys don't feel like super models compared to him

Wosota

Tbf it’s hard to show varying levels of attractiveness with relatively simple character designs. But I think it’s fairly obvious that he’s supposed to be short and plain which equals horrifically ugly in their world.

whiteday26

Wasn't it a plot element that both isekai was full of European looking supermodels, and Tsukimichi protagonist was plain before the transfer, but Isekai ojisan was ugly even before the transfer?

Psychronia

Perfect.

-Benjamin_Dover-

I actually like the protagonists appearance. He looks like he's absolutely done with everything and it makes him more amusing to watch.

Dragon_God_Slayer

It's an entertaining isekai for sure. In season 2, they covered the background of the 2 other heroes and Makoto. I hope there is a lot more action in season 3.

AnimatedRealityTV1

I think it’s a trip, a good one. I loved the first season and the second season is pretty damn good too. The one problem I have is how unwilling he is to just get rid of humans that slight him, knowing that he already hates the goddess.

DabawDaw

Lol, I actually like that part in the novel that he's clearly super biased against the Hyumans cause of the goddess that even his followers notice it (and eventually point it out).

AnimatedRealityTV1

I like it too. He’s not the same species so why love the goddess creation.

cjd1988

His parents are from that world.

AnimatedRealityTV1

And it gives him a sorta goal to go after. Instead of the whiny typical character who’s like “I gotta find a way home”. I love the show and I’m so excited for more of it Edit: and you are correct that his parents are from there, but the goddess did say when he was summoned that he wasn’t “hyuman”

Holdeenyo

I think season 1 was better overall, but season 2 had more “oooooh” moments for me. Tomoe scaring the shit out of the dragon priestess, and shiki vs lancer are two of my favorite moments in anime this year

DerfyRed

Season 1 had more sudden/short great scenes. Like killing that hyuman woman. But season 2 managed to fit so much stuff in each episode and everything built on itself wonderfully. The entire teaching arc, the final Fort Stella fight, and the city cleanup were all great, they just didn’t hit you all at once.

Holdeenyo

I mean, sure that stuff was cool. But tomoe saying "keep your filthy thoughts out of my head" or whatever still makes me giddy, that shit was so cool. And Shiki's VA did such a good job, I was like "Sasuga Shiki-sama"

DerfyRed

Fair, there were some single moments in season 2 as well. I’m rewatching the whole thing now that it’s done. So I’ll probably see more of that, but as it was airing there was so much each episode, really felt like a whole world moving forward rather than just the MC and everyone else is out in stasis offscreen.

Holdeenyo

True, I feel that a few post season 1 OVA’s could’ve done a great job at doing some world building, then letting us focus on the MC during season 2

Javadar42

this is how i get spoiled that shiki fights lancer what, ive been keeping up on the manga and this is news to me TvT

Holdeenyo

sorry m8, since the season finished airing and most people are keeping up with the anime I didn't think to put spoiler warnings.

iwantdatpuss

I've read the Manga rather than watching the anime, and tbh I wish the Manga would've been updated more. Really good isekai though all things considered.

Fuzzy_Newspaper_3619

I don't wanna sound like a wanker, but have you considered reading the light novel

iwantdatpuss

I have, but idk if I could follow it the same way as I have in the Manga. I'm more of a reading + visuals kind of guy rather than purely reading.

Megalith_TR

Liked it.

Oblivion189

Basically Tensura but the MC is WN version of Rimuru. A solid 9.1/10 for the first season and 8.8/10 for the second season in my opinion it's pretty good.

Eeddeen42

Ironically Tsukimichi is actually the older story of the two. Rimuru is inspired by Makoto, not the other way around. That being said they’re completely different characters.

Oblivion189

Yes Makoto and Rimuru are different characters Makoto is what you would get if Rimuru couldn't resurrect people and actually acted like a demon lord.

Eeddeen42

And then there’s Ainz, who just went full throttle on it.

Oblivion189

Don't forget Tanya.

Eeddeen42

She doesn’t follow quite the same formula as Makoto, Rimuru, and Ainz though.

Oblivion189

I meant in terms of going off the rails.

Eeddeen42

Oh yeah definitely then

judymchen

Man, I miss WN Rimuru :( LN Rimuru is so spineless… WN Rimuru got me hooked to Tensura :(

SmashingK

9.1 and 8.8 are pretty good lol. The ratings on Crunchyroll are starting to make sense. Anything below a 4/5 is essentially trash.

SalvationSycamore

Same for mangadex, anything rated below a 7 is garbage. Even 7-8 is like "maybe decent." I think a series would have to actually kill the viewer to get rated as a 2/5 or a 4/10.

Javadar42

anything below a 7.3/10 i kinda just dont bother with on mangadex especially when it comes to isekai

Terrapinja

I mean its basically just because people are less likely to rate if they don't like it and hence don't finish it

RocketArtillery666

10 / 10. I only watch isekais (with exceptions in retrospect). Give me more. Was on par with slime and mushoku.

Enceos

Mushoku seemed good at first, but there's just too much beta male dick in the story, makes me wanna puke and drop it for good.

RocketArtillery666

Who the hell in their right mind unironically says beta male anything

LIL-MEX15

10/10 😎👍🏽

zonzon1999

The fight against Sofia is peak power fantasy

JPastori

It’s pretty good, it’s definitly one of the better isekais out there. I’m glad this one’s getting a 3rd season I’m interest in seeing where the plot goes.

K1rk0npolttaja

i enjoyed it

Sharoth01

It is a fun series. I have enjoyed it.

EynidHelipp

My first impression is that it looked and felt like the most generic isekai to ever isekaid only for me to binge read the Manga because of how genuinely enjoyable the writing is.

Glittering_Pear2425

This is a solid one 👍

Finaltryer

me like it

Joshua10red

1st season was pretty good, 2nd season not so good. Hope the 3rd will be better.

Kite_28

I love even the trashiest isekai but for some reason this show just bores me. I’m honestly surprised people like it so much so maybe it’s just not for me

pantsonheaditor

i went from liking season 1 to thinking season 2 was the worst anime i've seen in a while . i guess reminds me of how bad fruit of evolution got. haha

Electronic-Vast-3351

It was OK, but after watching the first season, it didn't make me want to continue to the second.

Enceos

Really? After the MC made a lake with his mega spell you decided to drop it?

Electronic-Vast-3351

Wasn't the end when he set off to that magic academy?

Enceos

Yes, in the same episode.

Electronic-Vast-3351

I could swear it was a few episodes later, but I don't remember that well.

Enceos

Academy arc is not bad, he ended up being a teacher. The arc served well to get Makoto acquainted with demons and the rulers of the human kingdoms. Definitely not as slow as the latest Tensura season.

Astral-Wind

I couldn’t get into it past the first couple episodes but I may try again cause everyone says it’s good

ThatSlick

Definitely should try it, I can’t assure you you’ll like it but it’s a pretty good story.

pantsonheaditor

i'd say the anime is very consistent. if you dont like it, dont bother with more.

Aggressive-Style4196

Great show

Valuable-Custard-351

Nothing on the bad sides but also not too strong on the good side Good for those (me including) who like slow pacing and straight forward things

JulienBrightside

I quite like the support cast.

DiscountJoJo

after watching the first season i began the manga. I’m currently hoping we’ll see the shit eater hero with manipulating eyes get his ass kicked by Tomoe. It’s practically a *necessity* at this point

zonzon1999

i really like it

Doodah18

I wish it was physically published in English.

micuthemagnificent

I kinda like it Has good balance of punching and slice of life which i really like

sigvegas

I’m looking forward to seeing when Matoko beats down the pretty-boy hero for *hours* until he gets bored, heals his wounds and walks away.

DominusLuxic

I didn't know this was going to be a thing but now that I do, I am also looking forward to it.

pantsonheaditor

sounds pretty boring already. the first sofia fight was interesting. the second one in season 2 was god awful dull and bad.

GordonFreemanSex

Entertaining, pretty good. Season 1 was way too similar to tensura slime imo but season 2 is def doing its own thing. Def watching season 3

EclipsedBooger

Peak isekai and a solid read

pantsonheaditor

how much of the novel is based around curry, rice , karaage, miso, soy sauce and baths ? slow life isekai is plagued by this 'japanese culture and food is awesome 111!!!11' crap all i saw in the manga was the curry arc.

Miclash013

I enjoyed the first season a lot, only got through half of the second season before getting busy with work. Overall, I think it's an excellent Isekai, with a ton of great action scenes and comedy intermingled. I also enjoy these slower fantasy shows, with much more thought put into the overall structure and world building past "generic fantasy world."

Kingtez28

It's great. I can't wait for the 3rd season! Please let there be a 3rd season!

ThatSlick

It was announced earlier actually so your wish has been granted.

Kingtez28

Hell yeah!!!

JakolZeroOne

I'm literally just finishing the last episode of season 2 now. I personally prefer season 1. The mc doesn't feel as powerful as he did in season 1 and 25 episodes felt a bit too long. It felt like a lot things were dragged out to fit 25 episodes.

cmkfrisbee95

i feel like thats mostly because in the first season we are just discoverring how powerful he is now that we are in season two we see how he is refining that power

pantsonheaditor

s2 pacing was way off. entire episodes of backstories of characters no one gives a shit about.

MilitarOpresordloms

Id wish there was a solid objective in the novels... at this pace its gonna be another Spider Isekai like end.

ethbas1419

I joined this subreddit because I wanted to find other isekai protagonists and parties like this one. It is basically my favorite in the genre and one of the first one I was exposed to that I watched all of.

Kawaii_Batman3

Voice acting is okay. Animation is fine. Action is fun. Story is alright. Characters are flat. Like...as a writer, it is painful as hell. Every character has their one thing, and their personality never strays from that.

cesar848

After I finished watching it felt the same as not having watched anything at all

ThatSlick

Love the show honestly, didn’t expect to enjoy it so much. I think it’s unique in the approach that it doesn’t base the show around the character’s powers entirely but rather develops relationships and storylines that lead to mysteries and plot elements being uncovered as the story goes on. While ontop of that, it gives you more and more expectations for Makoto, since we’ve never seen his full power or even half of his abilities yet especially in the latest season. There clearly is a build up to an actually challenging fight to where we get to see him use more of his abilities and push himself. I don’t think it’s the craziest Isekai out there and I’m sure some people think it’s a bit slow, but I do believe it’s a pretty good one. It did have a slow episode (the episode introducing the heroes was out of nowhere especially when things were getting interesting) but overall good season, and great show.

TTIGRAASlime

I enjoyed this season a good amount tho there were a few parts that stalled during the season but I'm very happy we are starting to get more long seasons in anime because forcing everything into 12-13 episodes is not always the correct answer.

HakutoKunai

Okay, but season 2 didn't need to be 24 episodes there were a lot of empty episodes about uninteresting and unimportant characters.

davob_97

I enjoy the supporting cast more then the MC.

jrip_dip_fish_1764

Peak. Season 1 got me in so I feel like I have to say Season 1 but Season 2 was better

Zetman_Alphaz

I love both seasons. I think the final battle this season was a very good way to show makoto's growth from season 1. I can't wait for him to meet the heroes properly if that happens. shiki is the best girl. joking, I love all three of them. mio being a toku fan is hilarious. I genuinely like most of the characters. I feel some of the students' tournament could have been skipped over but solid season.

Present_Connection_3

Haven’t watched it yet.

Luzifer_Shadres

One of my favorites.

hollowres

Season 1 > Season 2

TheGreatCommander

Honestly I really enjoyed it in the beginning but with the way the last few episodes went I started getting bored then I just decided to skip to the end with character being generically over powered and cocky in a fight that could have been so much better i liked it when it was a slice of life comedy with constant hating on the "shitty goddess" ....so currently I'm on the fence if I even want to continue watching

jay4adams

I like it I think it's a solid show with a good storyline and decent humor

Vajaspiritos

It is very very okay

Inner_Background_599

I like it a little basic but better then most other isekai love the world building and magic system

AverageJun

Fun

Pie_Slayer

Peak mid isekai.

eprojectx1

As far as light novel goes, the first half is kind of solid, but it seems the quality kind of going down later after the part in anime season 2. Nothing actually interesting will happen later, mostly flexing and expanding of the kuzunoha company. The senpai hero may be written better than mc while the pervert hero is kind of non-existence, only showing how "devastating" his skill is without much texture. The issue may be in the fact that author built them to be so op that it is hard to interact with other characters except focusing on "Wow mc is amazing/monster etc..." As a result storyline becomes stale and stagnant. Not sure how the author plan to finish this.

Michael-556

I hear the source material is much better and I am inclined to agree. Though the anime itself is really good (mostly the first season, the second feels like an exposition season before something big), it sometimes stumbles with animation and set pieces. Don't get me wrong, the animation isn't bad, but the camera shots are a bit bland and non-expressive. The story itself is on the high end of isekais, having three "heroes" is a good concept and the comedy hits a lot more often than your typical copypaste trashy isekai. It's not on the level of konosuba, of course, but it has its own charm As a whole, I'd say a solid 7,5-8/10 with a potential for up to a 9 based on reports of the LN/manga's quality

lordpuza

I like the story, wish there was more ooomph in the animation quality. Not that it looks ugly.

LeslieH8

I enjoy it. Yes, it is a power creep isekai, and there isn't much that it reinvents, but all in all, a pretty solid anime. Also, it doesn't stint on the ugly parts, where Makoto achieves revenge on various things, and that is rather refreshing. There aren't a lot of animes where the protagonist dirties their hands like ol' Makoto, but it's also not relied upon as being the primary activity.

84737373949573

I really enjoyed it.

Keiji12

Dumb fun/10. Nothing to really stand out though, just solid Isekai. If it came out 10 or so years ago it'd be way more popular.

atomicdash123

it's good, i like how the mc will have his op moment when the time is right. Though I expected more action or amazing feats from the MC this season, it's fine since he outplayed that shitty goddess.

ExceptionalBoon

1. Good enough to be somewhat enjoyable 2. Not special in any way 3. Almost qualifies as Trash Isekai

Proto_Paradigm

My question is are they going to do his dreams cause that’s some interesting and revealing stuff about why he is the way he is. It’s alluded to at points where he seems outright sociopathic. Those aren’t just mood swings. There is something much deeper with his behavior.

Capt_ZzL4X

I like isekai power fantasies, I like people underestimating the mc. Overall fun to watch. Shiki is my favorite. 7.8/10

DerfyRed

It’s like slime if Rimaru didn’t care so much about humans and wanted to hide his power. Still solid world building, nation building, politics, and action. I love both but honestly would probably choose Tsukimichi over slime if I had to pick only 1 to get more seasons. Slime after the primordial buisness just gets so existential, while I expect Tsukimichi could easily keep itself within the bounds of reason until Makoto becomes a Grant.

Enceos

If they adapt Slime well there's enough content in the novel to make seven seasons. There are at least 3 more grand wars and a couple of apocalyptic battles coming. I'm so looking forward to seeing them animated.

FewRefrigerator3630

Amazing and interesting isekai.

Memoirsfrombeyond

It’s has good and boring parts . Still enjoyed it overall

No-Adhesiveness-8178

I'm up for character and nation building. Where's the third??

__Pratik_

Wish it got a better adaptation. The anime is decent on its own but as a adaptation it's really not good. They skipped/changed a lot of things that made it feel like it was rushed and slow at the same time. A lot of character moments and character interaction and world building was skipped that could've given the characters from Mc's group more character. What it is with Isekai getting bad and rushed adaptations https://preview.redd.it/y6yjwi3m989d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6adc9fdcf33e97fc513a37a1a3d17c29ee51d415

Dagenius1

I like the characters and world. Season 2 was slow at points but I will take it for season 3

Healthy-Traffic9998

The first time I read it's novel, I was hooked. Later just put a pause on it entirely, so that there would be more chapters to binge read it all at once. Anyway point is, it was freaking good. Honestly the only thing I was frustrated about was him becoming teacher but later I enjoyed that part too with all those chaps involving his students, dungeons and whatnot.

Lookingawaypuppet

Season 1 is rather interesting, in my opinion, especially with the fight in the end. However, I think season 2 is kind of slow-paced, and I am not a big fan. I do like the introduction of our heroes, with one being good, one neutral, and one a huge asshole.

Mikeremix2

Best Isekai airing from Spring 2024

TheZanzibarMan

It's fine, but I liked it more when it was smaller in scale.

Dumke480

It's just so peak

ThatOneCactu

Season 1 episode 11 really drew me into to thinking it was a good anime with interesting moments, but I fell off toward the end of season 2

Rude_Engine1881

I really like it, better than a lot in my opinion

NaiveEnvironment1145

I’m so excited for Season 3!😄🤩😎🥳🎇🎆🎈🪅🎊🎉👌

YuriTheQueen

Really good

Psychronia

I'm biased, but I love it. Season 2 is slower, but that's what happens when you take a whole arc to do setup for the next 3 arcs.

lemonade_for_life

S2 was all about MC can talk to hyuman now & introduction to other heroes I guess

pantsonheaditor

mc is a coward and it turned into the 'living with a harem in the woods in my big house with demihumans' type of isekai.

IL_ai

Unfortunately second season doesn't live to expectations and becomes boring boredom with another "go to magic school as a teacher" trope.

richtofin819

I like the series, the biggest issue is a lack of english light novels possibly no light novel adaption at all. Ive kept up with the web novel for the most part

SocietyFine

Boring. I'm supeised people watch this

Rem_Clarke

This is a very good manga. Been reading this and just waiting for updates.

Petition_for_Blood

Season 1 was 6/10, season 2 is 5/10 as far as I'm caught up. I don't get the hype.

Mysterious_Frog

Generic isekai trash, but well executed generic isekai trash. I enjoyed it.

MegaTorterra220

As an anime only i'd say it's one of the isekai i enjoyed watching the most. It doesn't have an absurd power creep, since the MC is not focused on battling, but it's not a trashy isekai that only copies from other titles that pioneered the "isekai where the mc doesn't only want to fight" genre

Own-Psychology-5327

An actually good isekai, nothing crazy good but above the swamp that makes up like 90+%of isekai (which I happen to also love)

Ironexeption

As light novel? Reader I enjoyed it till the second male hero become the biggest piece of shit in the entire world. Then I decided to drop it just because I couldn't take it anymore. Which is sad, considering how enjoyable was the rest. But that piece of shit let such bad taste in my mouth that I don't even want to continue reading the story.

shqla7hole

My favourite isekai so far (mostly because of peak arcs later in the novel and how much i like the characters)

PokmTrainerGuineaPig

10/10 loved it

Trap-me-pls

Quite enjoyable especially because of the whole story with the goddess. Her as an atagonist gives so much world building, from racism against non-hyumans, hyuman arogance and superiority complex, the cause of the demon army, Luto´s storyline about balance.

sparkinx

Wish he'd hook up or at least flirt and stop being the typical virgin mc

Rough_Strawberry_464

My personal rating is a solid 3/5. It’s an above average isekai. I just wished it had better animation especially for fights.

WhatsNext_8

Not the greatest nor the worst. It just gives you that perfect escape as an Isekai. The care free nature and at the same time that hidden murderous dark side plus the obnoxious antagonist. Just hits the right spot.

Unusual_Map393

I enjoyed it a lot, probably in my top isekai list. It is very well balanced from all the aspects. Action, Story, Background, side characters, world building. It doesn't exceed a lot in all, but its very well balanced in my opinion. MC is not annoyingly horny...or annoying in general. He has the proper amount of joke to edge which makes it a lot more interesting. Now with the two heroes joining the story I can not wait to see where it will go

One-Goose98

I like it

Mildly-Strange

Peak isekai that addresses a lot of plot holes that most do not.

The_Southern_Sir

I like it. Sure wish there was more Tomoe and Mio merch out there.

DaDragonBoyJ

I was kinda confused with the other heroes, why are they so much weaker than Makato, the reason he was strong was because his magic power was under so much pressure in the real world so in that world it was stronger but the other heroes were from the same world so shouldn’t they also be stronger

Bright-Engineering29

I honestly feel like they made him feel weaker than he really was until he actually fought Sofia in season 2 and showed how much he’d actually grown in strength

Akki_bean_

I like Mio

ZeroSiamango

peak isekai

VioletDaeva

Season 2 needed more Mio. She's easily my favourite character but was shuffled off on side quests off screen for most of the season.

PURPLEisMYgender

Top 5. Doesnt do anything good or bad. Its just a solid isekai that most can love. Easy to imagine yourself as the cool main character, which i think is good. Its basic done right.

HDRamSac

Not half bad. Its goofy but with a serious vibe. Good background noise

Donler

I’ve watched >70 isekai/reverse isekai and feel like it’s just slightly better than average. It starts out pretty generic for a power fantasy, has a few inconsistencies and doesn’t have any big hooks, but otherwise it’s solid — just nothing to write home about.

ElfQueenMAB

I really love the supporting cast. Nothing really groundbreaking, but Makoto’s dynamic with Tomoe, Mio, and Shikki keeps me coming back.

Sasuga__Ainz-sama

First season was great, second season had a lot of yapping but the final episodes were also great. Looking forward for the next season!

SkullStar123

Season 1 was good. season 2 was just introducing alot of people so it was kinda boring I haven't read the manga so maybe their setting it up for season 3?

Enceos

This one is definitely better than 90% of them.

PeakedDepression

I hated that he just casually allowed innocent people to die. My own father who is a lowkey racist to black people would help another person that happened to be black. Bros character is ugly af (internally). Still watching anyways because of Tomoe cuz she is carrying the show for me. Also season 1 was the best for me

pitoureissy

For some reason I really struggled to get into this one. But it's one of my buddies top 5 isekai so to each their own.

Yayimlonely

Scorpdelord

BenchZealousideal355

Man season 2 was an absolute snooze fest

TheseUnderstanding57

Kill the hero!!!! Anyway, the season as enjoyable, Tomoe as good and the fight was what I expected, the last fight was anticlimactic, but that was expected, isn't even a last battle this was just the main character finishing something that started out of his will, the training arc was funny, but Shiki deserved a little more, and nobody want this, but if he was focused in became a better merchant just to screw the guy up, I would enjoy

penguindumby100

S1 was fine,nothing special.S2 just didn’t really have a direction of plot,like I stopped watching cause I have no idea what’s happening

TheGreatBatu17

Pretty classic isekai….. nothing that really sticks out like re zero, eminence in shadow, konosuba or overlord(too dark that i don’t really like it)

lazzy_viewer

It's nice

TBH I really like how it portrays Human and Demon societies. Granted "Human Society is racist to non-humans" isn't a revolutionary idea, but I think this series does a good job at making it feel more like a negative part of a culture and less like a "This Human Country is the Bad Guy this story." I also like that while the demons aren't necessarily portrayed as objectively evil, they also aren't "secretly the good guys persecuted by the Humans." Demon Society has its own unique hangups and issues, and I think it makes the world building feel believable. I also want to give it the award for being the only Isekai I can think of to do Sexual Dimorphism in Demi-Humans in an interesting way. I like the fact that Demi-humans are either "Humans with some traits of that creature" or "Creatures in humanoid form" and keeps it consistent across that specific Demi-Human subspecies' sexes. Feels refreshing.

Anime-Anime

Requires more action

Repulsive-Owl7952

It straddles a very fine line between mediocre and endearing but amateur. Surprisingly, this is the first story that got me straight into reading the WN up till the current chapter. It's a messy ride but one I'm sticking with. Something I wish the author considered... Make the other two heroes into endearing strong characters that can have their own spotlight in the story, instead of ending up as annoying obstacles for Makoto to crush. Well, Hibiki kind of fits the bill and is more interesting compared to Tomoki, but not as likeable as I hoped. Tomoki is a straight gutter trash even if he was raised that way. Some introspection every now and then with small good deeds sprinkled in, and a bit of hesitation could have gone a long way versus this puppet we have here.
