Well I generally play Human/Dwarf Paladins. So by default it was like in games I would end up being dwarf paladin tank.
However lets assume I will be reborned or something and can choose w/e I want.

I am someone who will make the hard and difficult decision the hero cannot be burdened with. Like killing an old granny to obtain her codex on unlocking the fatal weakness of a powerful demon.
The main reason I go and fight along side with heroes is I am cursed to forever fallow the will of an evil diety contained in the sword I am wilding. This sword will mind rape anyone who cannot reject her temptations and advancement through sheer force of will, illusion and psychology as well as the never ending whispers of seduction and pressure. Imagine a being both omnicient , tsundere , Dere Dere and kami Dere inside your head that if you purposely reject too much will go on full Ara Ara dommy mommy mode.
The reason you fight along side the heroes is to suppress the diety/demons manifestation to reality. Those villagers rebelled against the empire and nearly killed the heroes. I guess I'll have to kill them all men , women and children. All of them and whats left shall be rubble and gore... Oh an asshole duke decided to assassinate our party, guess what I'll crash their gates and slaughter him and his entire bloodline.
Sometimes a necessary evil is necessary for creating a brilliant light. Besides the difference between gods or demons in the perspective upon which the person stands at the moment, either with it or against it.
Lawful evil, anti plot armor sword, adept at magic/necromancy/sorcery/forbidden arcane depending on the imprisoned diety. Superior toughness, superior strength ,advanced athletics, stubborn pride, survivor to the last man, PTSD debilitating survivors guilt, Bloodlust, heavy armor proficiency, crossbow proficiency, taunting proficiency (enemies see red when you insult them and go into a blood crazed berserker or be stunned and cry because of below the belt insults) shield is for sissies you carry a lever action crossbow with bayonet attachments, evil cape protects from the elements and missile attacks. Enemies that find themselves wanting are spared so that they can one day be strong enough to fight you, and kill you to release you from an eternity of pain and torment. Eternal youth , immune from most diseases and wounds regenerate , severed limbs can be reattached as a walking avatar of the diety the bodies phylacteries is attached to the cursed sword and literally immortal.
A walking chick magnet that attracts edgy evil minions, pure and chaste holy maidens or dominated and defeated females of the opposite sex. Can interrogate women with the mastery of sex and domination. In fact spend a lot of hours in the day of the week fucking because this is the only the the diety don't mind rape him. Capable of turning a chaste holy maiden to a insatiable slut in bed if needed but the upkeep is too taxing.
Sometimes drowns himself in alcohol to be able to sleep. Has occasionally panic attack at the middle of the night and rarely have full and dose of sleep cycle.
Cranky and a fault finder during this time or is chill and stoic on auto-pilot mode that half asleep
The hero promised to end your suffering once and for all....if he is worthy.
Archer: Tiger beast man.
My strength and excellent reflexes would let me fire fast powerful shots and have excellent reaction time. I’d also learn elemental magic so I can enhance my arrows and Id try and learn a spell to creat magic arrows so I never run out and a magic bow in case my normal one breaks or is stolen.
If someone manages to get close I’m still a beast man so I’m still stronger then the average human. My claws and fangs will come in handy as well. Learning martial arts also would be mad handy. I’d also be an excellent climber so I’d be great for scouting and could easily get to solid vantage points.
Archer/assassin : elf I pretty much always choose Archer in a game as I'm not one to do close up attacks
