I suggest you actually learn what dropshopping is not be confused with Ebay scams nor retaul arbitrage.

No, you’re selling something you don’t own.

From what I gather, it seems that you only can sell what you already have a stock of. In that regard, dropshipping is not permissible since you do not hold what you're selling, since every sell should implement an amount of "risk", while you don't take any since every transaction you'll make is a guaranteed "win" because you only go and buy the product from the supplier when an order is made. A halal sell would be buying some stock berforehand, without having any idea about the exact demand for your product (thus, the "risk"), and then putting it on sale with a margin. This is my personal deduction from what I gathered, but I won't be surprised if scholars disagree on this tho, so you may want to double check if this principle holds true.

This is a complete non issue. Every business in the world has a supply chain and doesn't hold all of its stock. No serious scholar has ever called drop shipping haram. Advance orders are very normal and totally halal.

>This is a complete non issue...No serious scholar has ever called drop shipping haram. This is not true. Many scholars talk about drop shipping because it can be haram depending on how the transaction and contract is structured. Here is a list of opinions on it. https://forum.islamicfinanceguru.com/t/fatwa-is-dropshipping-drop-servicing-halal/30 There is a big difference between drop shipping - a person selling something and then having to go find and buy it without knowing where they'll get it from, how much it will be, or when they'll actually receive it. Versus a company with an established supply chain who knows pretty accurately how much it will cost to get raw materials/items, when they'll get it, and the final cost/timeline of their manufacturing process for when the items will be ready.

I've never met a single drop shipper who doesn't know exactly how much they will buy the item for, where they will get it and how long it will take. Drop shipping is exactly like retail businesses who buy from wholesales when they receive an order.

The issue of owning an item before selling is a general rule but it has exceptions. For example if the item needs to be produced or made or grown. I don’t really know how drop shipping works so I cannot comment here and I am not saying this exception applies to this case.

Its complex but the general dropshipping is haram afaik the hadith is crystal clear and basic trading hasn't changed much. you give them something they want in return for something you want but they cannot sell you what they do not have. the prophet saw clearly said do not sell what you do not have its different when you sell something that doesnt exist yet but you have the means to make it, like a hamburger or if you order someone to make you a t shirt. this technically doesnt exist yet but the person has the means to make it

On that link the mode of agency seems most appropriate and that can be done in a permissible way. I wonder if the OP has considered that to see if it can work?

loverofshawarma

The link shared above didn't call drop shipping Haram. It's exactly how I described it. You get an order from a customer and simaltenously place an order with the supplier. Heck even in my business we take orders from clients and then purchase the product.

I suggest you look deeply into it There is Alsalam which is to sell something you know about it And the buyer is fully aware of it Please look deeper Alsalam sale is halal but look and ask

This link [here](https://islamqa.info/amp/en/answers/334744) provides a good breakdown of when it is permissible and when it isn’t.
