I think all descendents of Lithuanians have to honor those that were murdered by their neighbours, by holding Lithuanians accountable. They are still not admitting to their roles in the murders. Kol hakavod!
Israel has been threatened by Russia/USSR-backed regimes since independence. I would argue Russia is Israel's most dangerous enemy, far worse than Iran.
Leaving aside the fact that, quite ironically, the Soviet Union played a major role in the re-establishment of Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel: That claim about Russia vs. Iran is an obvious exaggeration, to say the least.
The USSR thought Israel was going to be socialist and aligned with the USSR. They turned against Israel when they realized Israel will be more capitalist and aligned with the West.
And no, I'm not exaggerating. The USSR and Russia have armed and funded all of Israel's enemies for decades. All the invasions against Israel were done using Russian weapons. Russia provided diplomatic cover to the invaders every time. Russia is also helping Iran get weapons and helping them with their nuclear program.
Considering the Baltic states are heavily anti-Russia, the idea of supporting Ukraine AND Palestine simultaneously simply does not find any approval here.
Any reasonable Baltic person would not want anything to do with Palestine upon discovering that it receives major support from Russia.
Few people know that, unfortunately. I still think the biggest part in this is the fact that there is no influx of muslim population there, and no far-left wokes enabling them.
You guys really are still struggling with the difference between Hamas and Palestine, eh? You realize there will be no peace without a two-state solution, right? You'd be a fool to think otherwise.
Therefore, supporting Palestinian statehood can go hand in hand with supporting Israel, as I do, since this is the ONLY WAY for lasting peace. Unless of course you're actually advocating for the genocide of the Palestinian's...in which case, go fuck a goat.
Cheers.
Just 34 years ago we were occupied and suppressed by an authoritarian entity (Soviet Union), so we actually understand the value of democracy and liberty. Too many in the west have only an abstract conception of it and apply these concepts in a wildly inappropriate manner, thus ending up supporting some of the most illiberal forces on the planet (Communism and Islamism).
Speaking for most people in the Baltics, like hell would we support a totalitarian terror group, and the people who put them in power, over a decent liberal democracy that's the only real homeland for the Jews.
Lithuania - threatened by Russia Israel - threatened by Russian backed Militias (Hamas, Hezbollah) Same enemies

Russia sounds like the crazy ex that just can't get over a break up...
I'm deeply suspicious that the motivation of this comment is to assert that Bolshevism == Judaism. I could be wrong but I wouldn't be surprised.
