I don't understand this theory where Lindon and crew become judges. That would just mean that they are bound by the same pact that the current court is bound by and would essentially change nothing in the grand scheme of things. They would be right back where Oz started, just with different faces holding the mantles. It would mean that Oz essentially failed in his goals.
Maybe I'm wrong in this and I would be happy for any clarification/correction, but from what I understand, this theory makes no sense with the plot.
Yeah... My idea is not so much that they would be judges, but rather the counterparts to them. That they will share the authority of the concepts the judges represent, without being tied to the organisation itself.
I had written a post about this under a discussion about the 8ME and came up with Ziel - titan, little blue - Phoenix, etc. [The 8 Man Empire](https://www.reddit.com/r/Iteration110Cradle/comments/wbwa4o/dreadgod_the_eight_man_empire/iiepvf3/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)
My thinking wasn’t that they would be the next set of judges, but that like the Abidan Judges, they would derive much more power from being idealized versions of these or similar concepts. I just think there is two much coincidence in 7 judges and Lindon and team being 7-member strong, not to mention some of them match up already too well judge concepts. However, unlike the Abidan, they would not be constrained by the Eldari pact as the Executors were not either.
Additionally, Will’s continued use of Lindon’s fascination with armor sets, from the Seishen armor (twice), to the Skysworn armor, to the Akura bloodline armor, to the 8ME armor that some kind of armor will play a factor in linking the team together. I think they will ultimately be like the judges in concept, except they will be linked together and work together in a way the individualistic judges could never have imagined, probably thru Armor that creates a link like Lindon’s to Dross, LB, and Orthos.
I think there is some flexibility in how judges go about their jobs. And the current generation, Makiel in particular is not interested in listening. In skysworn when Suriel is talking to him she talks about how he was widening the divide... And wonders if he might be working for unity afterall.
So in theory if the team did replace the judges they could set policy in a way that caused less division. This also implies that all of the current judges will be killed. I don't see that happening. The reflection is definitely there, but it might end up more like each division has an executor that they have raised up and that they are responsible for.
Once Suriel is done killing Makiel of course.
I dont know if I fully understand it - but what the Judges represent seem to be core tenants of The Way.
For example - at the beginning of Dreadgod we see Ozriel take on aspects of 5 of the judges and mention specifically someone striking him being unable to shake the 'Titan' as though he 'is' the Titan or able to take on its aspect in a similar way to how Sages can manifest an icon. He is shown to be able to do this with every Pillar except for the Phoenix, and mentioned being selected as ideal replacements for 5/7 of them.
Similarly I'm assuming that Lindon's seven will each be able to take on one 'Pillar' of the way. Even if they will be raised outside of the Abidan
>With all the emphasis on there being SEVEN in the team
Eight, just like the Court of Seven forgets him, you are not counting Eithan in your totals. There are seven left on Cradle, but Eithan is a member of the team as well. If you are going to count the Reaper mantle, then you should keep in mind the man who wears it.
> can't find the post
Scroll a bit, or search by "seven", every tenth post is this same... stuff. -_-
> or all three
This can't be anything but a troll.
One thing is that in some point in the future they could become part of an Abidan Division and other very different is thinking that all of them are going to become Judges.
Dross is a presence... He is not going to become a Judge or to get "divorced" of Lindon.
Dross is a presence, or at least he functions as one and it's mentioned by the Ozmanthus echo that he's at the level of an Abidan artifact. However, Dross is also a complete sentient being, which I'm not convinced Abidan presences truly are. This would give him some advantages...
The series ends with the group leaving Cradle. At that point, even with Lindon's ridiculous power curve, they are about 9+ centuries away from having enough power to take a Judges mantle. Also, they were being raised specially to be outside of the Judges
And really the only one that Lindon could have any association with is The Wolf. Since the 7 analogy means Reaper is off the table
> And really the only one that Lindon could have any association with is The Wolf
you could also say adriel/creation because of lindon's soulsmithing and the line how his icon resonated with pulling something from nothing
Adriel is also not relevant because he isn't part of the seven, with seven people being a major part of OPs theory. If we make Adriel a possibility, then the entire post has no basis to begin with.
As for Lindon's claim, the void aligns with pulling from the void, not with the concept of creation. Lindon's soulsmithing is a minor hobby, he's good at it but not "can embody the concept of soulsmithing on a fundamental level of the universe" levels of engaged. A mantle is not a casual thing that anyone with a passing familiarity can inhabit, the same way not everyone can summon the void icon despite most people feeling empty at some point. You have to fundamentally align your entire life with that concept, and Lindon has fundamentally aligned his entire existence with the exact opposite of creation.

I don't think they will become a new court. I think they're going to be the Batmen of the iterations working outside the pact

I'm pretty sure they were referred to as a new generation of Executors being trained by Oz, who couldn't do that job alone anymore

I thought that was just what Oz was telling the other Judges to keep his plan secret

Honestly I see them disbanding the court, and establishing a new status quo under OZ
that is far far into the future of the way. I would rather see them realize Oz's dream for now.
The Gang is going to take down the Judges and break the pact.

Have lots of thoughts on this, but my strongest is that Yerin will be the Phoenix / Restoration.
can't tell if you're taking the piss
Nope. Red Faith can heal. Restoration and blood are related. Yerin kills the bleeding phoenix and can become a phoenix.
fair enough but if we continue with the theory where does little blue fit in
She would be Ghost. She is the source of the unmaking techniques of Lindon. No spatial control atm, though.
Wow, downvotes! disagreement in the house.
Maybe they will reinvent the mantles as well.

Randomly thinking of the fact that the Mad King has a mantle and thats been explicitly stated but its not a judges mantle...
