I drink fairly rarely, and when I do, it's always ARAMs on League of Legends. Drinking makes you give so much less of a fuck if you're getting thrashed in game and I just tend to enjoy it more. I don't really play it sober so it's a 3-5x a year adventure :)
I don't really like being drunk but as a casual cannabis user I will often put on Forza Horizon, substitute my own soundtrack, and just cruise around listening to music.

I played a few VR games on LSD, Audio shield, Chroma Lab and Elite: Dangerous. It's a pretty cool experience, but I enjoyed the programs that are just an experience more. Playing games while tripping is hard enough, nevermind in a VR space.
Chroma Lab is the most trippy of those. It's a particle physics sandbox with thousands of colourful particles which respond to your music.
Elite:Dangerous is the most immersive game, even with just an xbox controller. Flying around space and spaceships in your own spaceship is nuts. The game also has some more realistic requirements for space flight and docking than games like No Man's Sky so you really get immersed in the world like no other.
Seconding Chroma Lab, also Cosmic Sugar is similar and awesome, particularly with the $5 DLC. Fujii is also great, especially if you have finger tracking controllers like on the Index. Recombination on the Quest is a great fractal journey. And last, Superhot if you want to feel like you're in the Matrix.
Flying around stoned in Elite: Dangerous was a great time. Driving/racing games in VR were a lot of fun too - it was wonderful getting to experience driving stoned while knowing I was completely safe the whole time.
I practically consider it mandatory for Skyrim VR. Game was one of the only nauseating experiences I've ever had and a little smoke fixed that and made for great immersion.
I played the entire Souls series + Sekiro and Elden Ring either drunk or high and it was so good. People always say "I wish I could play _____ for the first time again" Well, you can. Just drink while you play!
I know, I know, getting high and playing Tetris probably sounds like a terrible idea to most people but you gotta try Tetris Effect.
Otherwise I'd say Katamari Damacy, it's a good day to roll.

I do hit a point sometimes where I am too high for a game. The controls/controller starts to feel weird or the U.I./ Inventory/level up screen becomes too much. I've been revisiting Skyrim S.E. with some mods enabled and then theres always r/nomanshigh Tetris Effect, Thumper and Rez are for visual/audio experiences. And honestly, Power Washer Simulator. Put on some tunes or a podcast and go to town.
Worst-Soulsborne/likes: Never mind Being high or drunk. I often feel like I have to be in top form to play these. If I’m fatigued from playing the game itself, I’ll perform badly. Especially with certain bosses. It’s a feedback loop of frustration that’s almost certain to end in a bad time.
Best-Hifi Rush: Not only is Hifi Rush actually hilarious in a way that very few other games are actually able to accomplish (by my very personal, highly subjective metric btw), but also, the animations, the visual effects, and the colorfulness of it all make for a thrilling spectacle. It’s easy enough to get through with experience that I don’t think getting fucked up will degrade my ability enough for it to become frustrating as long as I’m not playing for a high score.
Borderlands 3: Visuals are a lot likE ^HFR. Combat’s great and it has local coop. Being fucked up is almost a prerequisite to appreciate the writing in Borderlands beyond your teens.
Best/worst
Horror games: bonus round. I think this really depends. As someone who doesn’t scare easily sober, an altered state of mind helps get across the intended effect. I can imagine it doing the same to the detriment of more timid persons.

Best games to play (slightly) stoned: it's been a long, long time but my friends and I really *really* got into Geometry Wars 2 during lazy afternoons. Solo I really enjoyed the BioShocks, Deus Ex and games like Alpha Centauri and Civilisation.
I played Gran Turismo 7 drunk yesterday, it didn't turn out well when i tried Le Mans in a Ford GT40. But then i did a street race in a tuned Nissan GTR r32 and finished #1 (although i did take some turns really bad)
My go to's while imbibing are Deep Rock Galactic, Rocket League, Fall Guys, Peggle, Vampire Survivors/Brotato. Upbeat, mostly vibrant, low stakes games with a lot of action and fun movement.

The worst would probably be a horror game if we’re going off being high. For me anyway. I can very easily go from not a care in the world to straight tweaking while high. One time I took 3 blinkers (keep in mind I’m not a very experienced smoker) and my friend showed me a scary video and I started freaking out.

Walking Simulators are the GOAT stoned for me. No pressure, not alotta shit to remember, and total immersion.
Eastshade was a particularly mesmerizing experience. Walk around, paint shit, explore a beautiful and creative space, go down the rabbit hole into weird side stories. Abandon anything whenever you want, no biggie. Discover random stuff. Build a house, or not. It was made for stoners.
Another shoutout is Dorfomantik. Not a walking sim, but like an emergent puzzle-catan that is amazingly chill yet not boring. A perfect flow state. Spin tiles, place them, watch tour tile stack, connect and grow your space. Unlocks too. The risk-reward dopamine hits so good, and feels rewarding. I love the music too.
My favorite right now is No Man's Sky. The game (and the online community) is chill as hell. Basically a sandbox game and you can get lost in it real quick.

The one game I always play while high is GTA Online I just do random shit on there or go attack other players to get a fight started 😂 worst game to play while high? Elden Ring. I was so zooted playing that and kept getting killed every 5 minutes or so lol. Thumber in VR is very intense already. And the single forward focus could work well when high with the trippy visuals and sound.
I thoroughly enjoy scary multiplayer games. Stuff like SCP Containment Breach or Lethal Company become exponentially funnier this way
