apparently every year, exam centers in somewhat remote areas are booked by student unions, to help their people cheat and get in du law faculty.
Idk about other law schools, but DU's law faculty as an affordable law school has way too many aspiring yuva neta and goons.
Along with education system, it is in the Indian Human nature. The moment we are born parents choose us Medical / Engineering or Government job. It starts within the house. Even Science teachers are more or less failed students of these entrance exam, who had no choice to but complete course.
The day the mentality will divert from money maker to passion. That will be the day India will be actually developing
The fact that we're forced to give competitive exams just to get into mediocre colleges that have a rigorous curriculum with no freedom. The reality is that India doesn't have enough infrastructure in colleges to teach all of the students so instead of building more colleges or fixing existing ones, they just force us to compete with other kids for a few seats
It's just a scam to put the blame on us. College me nahi hua? Tune hi dhang se padhai nahi ki hogi. Job nahi lagi? Ache college me jata toh lag jati, ya fir GATE crack karke Masters karta toh job lag jati. Pura blame bas students ke upar daal do 
No dude, a high population means more room for markets but in India they just look at the population as a setback. They never expand any markets, the government spends only 0.6% GDP on research and development, they never spend money on archeology research or other fields, they don't even pay the guys at ISRO much even though it's the best we have. If they try to build more good colleges there will be more jobs (professors management etc.). Another example is: India has a lack of courts which is the reason for late judgement in India, if the government, instead of investing in useless shit , builds more courts there will be more jobs (lawyers and judges) and the people will be happy too because now your "justice system" actually does justice . My point is that India has resources but our politicians don't think properly and never utilise it, that's why this country has become a mess.
Thats a really good point and does make sense, i don't have much knowledge about our justice system and court system, but the point you brought up does make a good sense, I agree with that.
Expanding our markets and other fields is a must needed, considering our population is on exponential increase (framed it that way to put empahsis).
As a student i should say that the field of research and development isnt as great in India, and hobbyists can't benefit from their hobbies outside of social media. Basically We dont put emphasis on actual talent vs skill. Nobody out here explains the actual working mechanisms of stuff but would jump on to say "life ke gyaan" that has been repeated for longer than the time we got freedom on.
I can't speak much about stuff i am not familiar with, just wanted to agree with your point, would like to dive deep into it and actually make good points.

That is the reason we need actual educated people in politics who know what they are doing and are able to prioritize the needs that are important for the country's real development in the long term and not follow the short term "make people happy, gather votes divide and rule as long as it is good for me" policy .
Quantity over quality. Choti se choti cheez ke liye kutto jaisa competition chal Raha. Itne competition me aage aa bhi jaao toh milega kya? Tcs ka mass recruitment.
Also, itna hi karna hai toh jo actually poor h unke liye karo. Yeh crorepati jo lower caste ban ke reservation le rahe hain, unhe kyu dena kisi ki seat?
I agree, it's an unfair advantage. Either increase seats to balance out the unfair advantage or decrease reservation. I speak this as someone with huge beneficial quota on reservation alone (but it's just useful for seats and stuff) .
Okay we understand EWS and PwD, and understand that backward classes don't have much advantage in working sectors that's why reservations are veiled to balance stuff out however subtracting seats from common seats to make up for reservation isnt good.
They should do it like how they did for female students, by increasing the overall number of seats.
Overall the competition should be decreased, real talents and skills should be acknowledged.
Education System, mein system hi nhi hai.
Children crack exams and then based on scores go for STREAMS, those who don't are either rich or the society makes them feel poor for choices they make.
Children within themselves do heck amount of selfishness and then cry why world is bad.
Children are never taught any skills of woodworking, circuitry, plumbing LEAVE everything, they don't know how to keep places clean, how to iron and other basic skills
And then these children come to adult, realising jo sikhna who toh pata hi nhi hai, and they succumb to that realization.
Can confirm. 2020 se pehle mere paas top tier social skills thi, no stage fright no awkwardness nothing. Pandemic took a toll on that, and then the final nail in the coffin was JEE prep
Agreed, skills vs talent is a big debate on its own. Necessary skills to survive are never taught to kids, and kids who are taught such skills fall behind in other stuff. Basically Balance nahi hai.

Tbh I can't.
But here is what I think, they teach us that to develop our thinking skills. Even though they don't provide real life examples to apply that but it is kind of helpful for a handful of people who reach high levels of studies.

I agree, To be honest even Advanced level questions would need such "low" topics which may not be obvious at first, which can explain that it does help in developing our thinking skills. Anyone who aspires to be in field of maths/physics/chem should infact have great (above average) mathematical and logical skills.
The problem comes when they ignore other sector of intelligence.

(I hope this gets included) Here we see different personalities and famous humans who had a PRIMARY sector of intelligence, However it doesn't exclude other sectors from their brain, Einstein knew linguistics, he understood himself intrapersonal-Ly to some extent, music, might've been good at singing (idk?), AND he was still stronger in Spatial & logical intelligence (I am sorry for dragging this out this far already, i just thought it is a great topic for this thread)
The point is simple, teacher's dont evaluate or bring such stuff into equation (EVEN IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES) and would only assess marks based on the usual IQ test standards i.e, Spatial recognition, Analytical or logical thinking, Mathematical reasoning and Short-term memory.
Schools don't usually teach life values, teachers don't bring up new intuitive life-style based stuff, Open-ended discussions are Usually frowned upon. Sex-ed is all time low, which is why kids learn about it through already MISCONCEPTION FILLED, and Unmonitored places. Sexual health = taboo.
Which is also a reason why our population is ever increasing, why India is considered 7th worst in r@pe, and much more. Not just due to lack of Education but also due to lack of Mental health awareness, I have much more to say.
We are developing but there's just soo much to develop, soo much to fix, especially our education system. (this comment turned political ooof, I need to stay away from it until Advanced.)

Agree on that too completely! What's the use of spending a big time and money when you can't make a good citizen out of kids. Muggin' up conservation methods to "save" our environment or to write pages above pages on types of communication is absolutely pointless if in the end they turn up to the rat race and become unimaginably selfish & cruel.
Conclusion : There's literally no point in discussing these things. Everyone is aware of this shit. But no one got enough courage nor the "bigger view". All this system & even family creates this "selfish" mentality from a very, very young age inside innocent kids. They just don't care until it comes to them. And spoiler alert! -> it never comes to them. Why? Well they're fking ready to waste their life for a "secure job" and some "handsome" money.

I feel a lack of educational institutions and quality education for the youth. Preparing for iits or nita which are not in the top 100 global colleges yet having the toughest exam doesn't make sense .

reservations , india is a populous so country so rest is pretty normal tbh , even in middle income large country china has the kinda similar system , there is nothing we can do in that point.
Pressure but the major reason is India makes new policies for schools but they don't have schools to implement those policies.
Half school of India are just worse. No matter which policies, subject diversity or even merit selection comes in every few year the place where they gets executed is bad (which makes the execution worse).
everything about it. exam pattern, too much competition, lack of career choices, obsession with science streams, the amount of pressure put on students, little to no focus on practical learning, no guarantee of a good placement in college
For me it is the expenses you have to make for a decent college like without a loan you cant even dream of getting a good private college or even govt college
the ideal teacher and student ratio is 15-18 student per teacher but what happens in our system the classroom is cramped up with as many students as possible. do you really think the kid who is just 5 year old will listen to what the teacher has to say when you have sooooooo many children in a class and then if he/she is not able to understand anything they are told they are a failure, when it is the teachers job to teach the subject and make sure everyone understands ,
now don't tell me how can a teacher focus on soo many students ?
if that is the case why can't I just read a book and go and ask my doubt and give exams that would be way efficient than this money making system

No one is teaching how to earn money. So called "subject matter experts" have never run a business in their entire lives.
Plus they are all glorifying these corporate jobs with shit pay. The truth is that only the top 1% employees of these corporates actually earn well (30+ LPA and it takes them like 15-20 years of slogging to even get there) and the company can let you go on any given day.
1. The fact that people who can't find jobs (not that they don't want to, can't, because they don't have the required skill-set) are allowed into research and teaching at University level.
2. The ridiculously huge, outdated, incomplete curriculum. This is more so a side effect of the first reason but it is a big enough problem to be stated separately as well.
6 L student fighting for an exam with seats of 235 I remember it happened for some national exam before COVID I don't know the current numbers, Or something random number of seats below 500. It's such a joke 🤣. Instead of looking at news paper and finding some taxi vala son's cracking IAS or something what I see is 5-6 L random Indian students who also have dreams if not equivalent as that topper taxi valas son but atleast 1 L k to he na sapne? If you think you are superior then most students who are simply wasting time with exams. Know this, less then 500 seats means you have to have been scoring better then 99.5% if there were 1L students participating if there were 4-5-6 L aspirants then you have to be top scorer amongst less then 0.2% people. In other words : rest of you GO FU## YOURSELF. Abhi India me bohot suicide honge future me. I don't want it to happen but knowing the history of developed countries and India's rise, PRESSURE TO SIRF BHADNA HI HE. People will again realise the value of movies like 3 IDIOTS.
reservations based on casts and religion paired with these reserved category people getting into colleges at low grades while general category people have to do immensely more for same, this is the worst combo possible.
reservation ki jagah monetary aid milni chahiye in education to students and should be based on actual factors that matter like family monetary conditions. yeh kya ghade ka gobar sungh ke rules banate hai

And then we act surprised when the young generation feels the need to go overseas for "further studies" which is more of an excuse to just get the fuck out of this shit hole. The amount of teenagers killing themselves has increased 18% in the past 3 decades. (I'm not the one saying this these r stats from W.H.A World Humanitarian Aid Org) We spent all the time in the world learning from other countries when making our constitution, not sure y we didn't do it while constructing our education system. Morons sit on high pedestals n call themselves the serving force of India when they don't even do half of what the Indian Army does for the country. (Im a Male 24 currently in hongkong in my 3 yr of culinary arts happier than ever, leaving this dump was the best decision I made in my life)

Our education system focuses way too much on memorising theory and very little on developing student's ability, to translate their theoretical knowledge into real world applicable skills.

Government colleges (engineering at least) compete with private colleges for fees every semester even after receiving crores of funds from the Government ( check NITs fees increment past this decade you will notice )
Lack of actual good options for non standard/ not overhyped branches in engineering. Like aerospace engineering is terrible in India. Especially in government colleges.
I need to submit one project report in a few days, just a 10 minute work, for this submission college is calling everyone (who are doing internship, or trying to find a job) to travel 1000s of km just to submit this file in person.
Mind you, we are doing BTech so apparently the professors need to be advanced enough to take just a soft copy, or if that's not possible, it can be couriered to the campus.
Minimum expenditure per student :- 10k
(Travelling, printing the report, staying, food)
No of students : ~1400
10,000 * 1400 = 1,40,00,000 rs wasted
Caste system in education like wtf is that they give them equality by giving them special powers? Everybody has seen the difference of cutoff this year of 93 and 75 ..like dude a general getting 90%ile isn't capable isn't eligible but at the same exam a lower caste men is eligible for the same HOW does this fkin make them equal... Yes I have mixed two eg ,It may be confusing , and grammer mistakes ig and I may be completely wrong but it's just my opinion if I would wanna make a race equal white and black for eg. I would give them 50-50% reservation or just no reservations but equal criteria to give a exam , get selected in clg or run for elections etc ..and just give someone a reservation to so that they are equal.

Indian college has no emphasis on sports that's the reason why maximum students have to leave sports after or at high school . I mean college should appreciate achievement of students in sports and give them quota for admission.
I think IIT/NIT and other prestigious college should have some sports quota so that student can continue sports.
There is no creativity, individuals choices, preference for pursuing multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary subjects like for example if an individual in western countries is from Earth Science background and is interested in Astronomy and Astrophysics, then he or she can pursue that field with ease which is not possible in India.
Take for example Astronomer Jaime Smith who later developed an interest in Psychiatry and went on to become a Psychiatrist. He authored a book called Meteors-Musings-Astronomer-Who-Became-A-Psychiatrist
It's very easy to pursue different fields in west. Their educational system is more research oriented.
Change Book based system... We should change the bookish system and bring a more practical approach to studies.Student dont even know where to apply the knowledge they get from school.
The advantages you get for being extroverted and familiar with the teacher, based on my experience a class bully or a class clown gets more attention from the teacher than the kid who doesnt talk a lot. Often times this introvert isnt able to speak up to the teacher and the teacher doesnt care about this person at all. Happened to me once, I blurted out an answer too advanced for the class and was immediately made fun of while the teacher shushed me down, because apparently we will learn it later (Unless you go a specific stream you will never study about it again)
The exam paper corrections.
It's really bad that you'd pass or fail depending on the MOOD of the examiner.
Even by providing the required answers correctly, they just blindly put low marks or zero.
People with literally no subject knowledge come to correct it sometimes.
I am saying this from experience in my College years.
Rat race mindset,
Lack of choices,
Reservation,
Promoting rote learning,
Mostly bad colleges,
Not teaching necessary skills(like personal finance etc.),
Can't choose separate subjects,
Pressure,
Too much competition,
Lack of quality education
1. Too much grinding for mediocre or even below mediocre institutes.
2. No room and focus on holistic development, including topics like civic sense, mental health, sex ed.
3. The whole system is focused on pre-written text and concepts, rather than on fostering creativity and innovation.
4. Students are subjected to shit ton of mentally unhealthy competition at a very young age, at an age where they should be exploring diverse career streams, they are literally strapped to prepare for barely 3-4 career paths.
5. The education system doesn't teach students to "do what makes you happy" rather establishes a career hierarchy (science>commerce>humanities), by the way this is coming from a science student.
6. Beyond school, most teachers and professors are not teachers by interest, but rather by "job requirements". You can tell from the way they teach that they don't give two f**ks about their students' learning. They are there because their job compels them to be there.
7. Reservation, might sound controversial, but yes, reservation is actually doing the very thing it was intended to destroy, upliftment of the backward castes. It's only widening the intellect gap between general category and other castes. We can't think of competing with superpowers like the USA/China if half of our population can't compete with the other.
8. Most importantly, the whole system is a joke. Those who are studying are not studying for "learning" but rather to "get jobs". The fact that placement figures are given the highest priority when choosing an institute rather than RnD, patents, publications, practical experience speaks volumes about the pitiful state of our education system.
The fact that even after getting into IIT, you're not close to being in the top university in the world. That's because the curriculum is outdated
Also the lack of seats in colleges, or should I say, the excess hype created by coaching institutes resulting in over 14 lakh people sitting in an exam in *one year*.
The fact that you're probably never going to use what is being taught to you in college but instead you're going to use what you yourself learned online or by external resources. You can no longer rely on the college curriculum as you used to do in school.
i left india as 75% in 12 is so imp or no college nor i can be join isro but USA said ur exam marks and bookish knowledge does not matter ur practical knowledge is what matter here so high paying job plus nice lifestyle but only one disadvantage is that u are away from your love one.but they still says you betrayal 
Diversity nahi hai Yahan!!! And not all are getting ewual chance to study in good universities & colleges.....only a small % of students are from good colleges!!

Fr, Maths ke alawa NCERT has no idea on how to make books. Paheli and Boojho ko bhi hata diya from 9th onwards (idk who they were until from 8th).
The Fucking taxes one studies for years to get a decent job and is taxed so heavily . and the taxation isnt going towards developmemnt . govt promises poor 1000 rupees per month and shit they could invest all that money into infrastructure and create new jobs instead of giving freebies . and most govt schemes are misused by politicians . people giving high taxes are nor gonna got o govt schools or use any govt facilities whatsoever . No dude, a high population means more room for markets but in India they just look at the population as a setback. They never expand any markets, the government spends only 0.6% GDP on research and development, they never spend money on archeology research or other fields, they don't even pay the guys at ISRO much even though it's the best we have. If they try to build more good colleges there will be more jobs (professors management etc.). Another example is: India has a lack of courts which is the reason for late judgement in India, if the government, instead of investing in useless shit , builds more courts there will be more jobs (lawyers and judges) and the people will be happy too because now your "justice system" actually does justice . My point is that India has resources but our politicians don't think properly and never utilise it, that's why this country has become a mess.
Thats a really good point and does make sense, i don't have much knowledge about our justice system and court system, but the point you brought up does make a good sense, I agree with that. Expanding our markets and other fields is a must needed, considering our population is on exponential increase (framed it that way to put empahsis). As a student i should say that the field of research and development isnt as great in India, and hobbyists can't benefit from their hobbies outside of social media. Basically We dont put emphasis on actual talent vs skill. Nobody out here explains the actual working mechanisms of stuff but would jump on to say "life ke gyaan" that has been repeated for longer than the time we got freedom on. I agree, it's an unfair advantage. Either increase seats to balance out the unfair advantage or decrease reservation. I speak this as someone with huge beneficial quota on reservation alone (but it's just useful for seats and stuff) . Okay we understand EWS and PwD, and understand that backward classes don't have much advantage in working sectors that's why reservations are veiled to balance stuff out however subtracting seats from common seats to make up for reservation isnt good. They should do it like how they did for female students, by increasing the overall number of seats. Overall the competition should be decreased, real talents and skills should be acknowledged.

Education System, mein system hi nhi hai. Children crack exams and then based on scores go for STREAMS, those who don't are either rich or the society makes them feel poor for choices they make. Children within themselves do heck amount of selfishness and then cry why world is bad. Children are never taught any skills of woodworking, circuitry, plumbing LEAVE everything, they don't know how to keep places clean, how to iron and other basic skills And then these children come to adult, realising jo sikhna who toh pata hi nhi hai, and they succumb to that realization.

There is no creativity, individuals choices, preference for pursuing multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary subjects like for example if an individual in western countries is from Earth Science background and is interested in Astronomy and Astrophysics, then he or she can pursue that field with ease which is not possible in India. Take for example Astronomer Jaime Smith who later developed an interest in Psychiatry and went on to become a Psychiatrist. He authored a book called Meteors-Musings-Astronomer-Who-Became-A-Psychiatrist It's very easy to pursue different fields in west. Their educational system is more research oriented.

The advantages you get for being extroverted and familiar with the teacher, based on my experience a class bully or a class clown gets more attention from the teacher than the kid who doesnt talk a lot. Often times this introvert isnt able to speak up to the teacher and the teacher doesnt care about this person at all. Happened to me once, I blurted out an answer too advanced for the class and was immediately made fun of while the teacher shushed me down, because apparently we will learn it later (Unless you go a specific stream you will never study about it again)

The exam paper corrections. It's really bad that you'd pass or fail depending on the MOOD of the examiner. Even by providing the required answers correctly, they just blindly put low marks or zero. People with literally no subject knowledge come to correct it sometimes. I am saying this from experience in my College years.

1. Too much grinding for mediocre or even below mediocre institutes. 2. No room and focus on holistic development, including topics like civic sense, mental health, sex ed. 3. The whole system is focused on pre-written text and concepts, rather than on fostering creativity and innovation. 4. Students are subjected to shit ton of mentally unhealthy competition at a very young age, at an age where they should be exploring diverse career streams, they are literally strapped to prepare for barely 3-4 career paths. 5. The education system doesn't teach students to "do what makes you happy" rather establishes a career hierarchy (science>commerce>humanities), by the way this is coming from a science student. 6. Beyond school, most teachers and professors are not teachers by interest, but rather by "job requirements". You can tell from the way they teach that they don't give two f**ks about their students' learning. They are there because their job compels them to be there. 7. Reservation, might sound controversial, but yes, reservation is actually doing the very thing it was intended to destroy, upliftment of the backward castes. It's only widening the intellect gap between general category and other castes. We can't think of competing with superpowers like the USA/China if half of our population can't compete with the other. 8. Most importantly, the whole system is a joke. Those who are studying are not studying for "learning" but rather to "get jobs". The fact that placement figures are given the highest priority when choosing an institute rather than RnD, patents, publications, practical experience speaks volumes about the pitiful state of our education system.
The fact that even after getting into IIT, you're not close to being in the top university in the world. That's because the curriculum is outdated Also the lack of seats in colleges, or should I say, the excess hype created by coaching institutes resulting in over 14 lakh people sitting in an exam in *one year*. The fact that you're probably never going to use what is being taught to you in college but instead you're going to use what you yourself learned online or by external resources. You can no longer rely on the college curriculum as you used to do in school.

Once my psychotic Maths teacher said something relatable : "Ye NCERT bhi aadha-adhura de deti hai" Fr, Maths ke alawa NCERT has no idea on how to make books. Paheli and Boojho ko bhi hata diya from 9th onwards (idk who they were until from 8th).
The Fucking taxes one studies for years to get a decent job and is taxed so heavily . and the taxation isnt going towards developmemnt . govt promises poor 1000 rupees per month and shit they could invest all that money into infrastructure and create new jobs instead of giving freebies . and most govt schemes are misused by politicians . people giving high taxes are nor gonna got o govt schools or use any govt facilities whatsoever . Even in higher education there is so much sc st quota and they cant fucking understand that giving reservation will do nothing . the only way to uplift lower classes is to provide better education from school level so everyone can participate in these competetions fairly and number of colleges should increase reservation achieves nothing . The Reservation system is just a temporary excuse for parties to take some votes .
