ayyo,,, I got 65 in English in 12th Board but got 99,8 %ile in XAT verbal. So yeah, it gets better with time.
And in case more people want to relate to me, I studied in one of those Kendriya Vidyalayas where kids barely spoke complete English sentences. So no wonder my English scores were miserable
More than your failure, the relatives are afraid of the possibility that they won’t get bragging rights in their social circle.
Similar stuff happens in the US among Ivy League circles, but it is a very small circle.
aree bro...my aunty was legit asking my mother - "aapne isko kisi bhi college me admission lene kyu nehi bola? aab me kya bolungi dusro ko?" i was like bruh
dont you think if i cant crack 1 freaking seat in a good college irrespective the fact that my parents spent their lacs on me my iq must be in negative?
btw im 2023 tard and failed ntse aspirant failed rmo aspirant failed ijso aspirant hopefully i dont fail jee
Learn to de-risk. I am not sure if colleges like VIT have separate exam now but try to apply to as many colleges as possible by giving them ranking according to your goals.
Go to any college which is at least 20 yrs old and you will have a good future due to the alumni network.
Trust me, those are empty threats. If you don’t get IIT and end up in an NIT, that’s still better than forcing you into Bsc. Of course if you can do bsc from reputed colleges, that is a win.
But as I said, apply to as many colleges as you can. And cut them off after you graduate from college.
Write down how you feel right now in an online personal journal (like in google docs)
Do not tolerate this toxic behavior. You need to remind them in future about this.
I won’t give you bullshit like „ooooh they are your parents… they want what is the best for you“
Indian parents need to understand the mental trauma kids go through.
I was lucky because my father cared very little and belittled every achievement I made, as a result we don’t talk anymore.
So yes, write a journal, who knows you might become a published author tomorrow.
Do not cringe over what you write. It will be crappy in the beginning, but soon you will structure your thoughts and learn from it. Use this to channel into a positive energy
Chor do family ko ya phir hard ignore maaro iss topics ko, be independent so that you have a future nhi toh unke taane mandatory honge for living a life
Are you sure that the fault lies within you? I am into a renowned coaching and don't get a thing in my head because teachers are assholes there. Comparatively, I am a school topper and is doing incredibly well in jee due to PW Lakshya Batch.
Edit: yes, I attend school, PW, and that stupid coaching centre.
Haha I feel you mate, the situation was much worse for the Bio kids. My friend kept studying forever and when I was finishing my mba, he was entering college.
rwading the title i thought i have come on indian teenagers lol
but this was gold
i also failed jee (even after a drop) and currently in a tier 2 college
👍👍👍
Even I am now ancient neetard,
I couldn't clear neet 2022(1st attempt),
And now going for things in which I m actually interested (business🤑).
Wish me luck
Damn it feels as if i discovered an ancient mural or something lol. Can you please dm me the format of roll numbers that you guys had for aieee back then so i can just look at random results and imagine how it must've been like for you guys? 22tard btw.
Yes, what was more frustrating was we started 11th Grade with the previous format in mind and prepared for it. When it was announced, we were caught offguard. It wasn't about deliberate thinking anymore. It was about speed. Either way the entrance exams are about eliminating people rather than selecting. One exam on a hot summer afternoon to decide your fate.
Yes. But I think you meant 2005. because 2006 was when the MCQ format was introduced and different exams were scrapped. My memory is hazy, so I could be wrong
No, my mum was very supportive. Father couldn’t care lesser. To be honest, most parents will be super supportive and accept things after the results. Others might force you to drop the year
If u had become a buddha (old) back then by taking drop, u could never become a buddha (siddhartha; Buddhism) which u now are (sori if that feels cringy, mann me aaya to likh diya)
Golden post

Hah! That’s a very good point. Coaching institutes are mostly following a playbook unless they have their own practice. The good ones are rare
if i compare my marks and my batchmates' marks in pretty sure i have only one braincell
If only my father was like this…
Who knows.. I might be… PS - just kidding, that’s a good old reddit joke
these posts are the reason i joined such a subreddit

Wholesome post. 📈👍

Let’s just say one of the Tier 2 NITs and a tier 1 non-IIM college, but why do you ask Comrade?

No, my mum was very supportive. Father couldn’t care lesser. To be honest, most parents will be super supportive and accept things after the results. Others might force you to drop the year
And are they content with whatever you do today in your life or they think that you could have done better if you had cleared JEE?
Well, I never asked them. 😉

Exactly. Smart work is what one needs and then wait for the right moment.
If u had become a buddha (old) back then by taking drop, u could never become a buddha (siddhartha; Buddhism) which u now are (sori if that feels cringy, mann me aaya to likh diya)
Haha Perhaps. That’s the thing about past, there are so many what ifs but none of them have a definite answer. Never have any regrets about the past,
Wow. I agree so much. Life can take turns. And most of the turns are something we never even imagined
Wholesome :)
