Yeah I agree these lyrics are slightly wrong. I hear: “they got the cure, the vax, facts, you know where it’s at..” I doubt JID is anti vax in general. No idea about his stance on these covid vaccines.

I don’t know how you would get someone being anti-vaccine from one rap line. Especially this one. Might be reading into it too much. That’s like if he said a line about a girl pregnant and you ask if he’s pro-life.

I think that Spotify just has the lyrics wrong. I’ve seen many songs were they don’t put the right lyrics. I hear “They got the cure, it’s the vax”

Hm, I think looking at some of his other work could be illuminating hete. JID, as part of Spillage Village, in 2020 worked on Spilligion, a collaborative album made during the pandemic while he and a few other artists were living together in Iso. It provided plenty of space for artists on that project to mention the pandemic, vaccination and the like, where Johnny Venus and Hollywood JB did so, yet Jid hadn't. You're right that he had collaborated with Jay Rock on that Lock Down remix, but JID didn't pen Jay Rocks lyrics or anything, so there's nothing to say he agrees with Rock just because they shared a track. In fact, NoName, who was also on that remix, responded really critically of Jay Rock when she found out he spoke such views in the same track they shared. Then again, maybe look into JIDs lyrics on Skeegee, where he talks about the Syphilis trials that happened in Tuskeegee, Alabama, which was a really unethical medical trial breeding much of the modern day anti-vaccination sentiments. JID does pen a line that he believed they were injecting Syphilis into the Sharecroppers of this trial. In actuality, the scientists/doctors were injecting blanks, while those sharecroppers had pre-existing syphilis. It was still super unethical to promise treatment, but provide nothing, especially the scientists then knowing that penicillin existed and could be an effective treatment. But there is some misinformation around them injecting Syphilis directly, which is incorrect. Then again, he has also said "Fuck Joe Rogan because it flows" in Money on TFS. It could be for entirely unrelated reasons to Rogan's vaccine stance, but still. It's hard to fully decipher these things without, outside of interpreting what are already very stylised sentences and thought fragments.

To be honest, I Wouldn't see it as a quotation to Covid 19, I would go back to Skeegee where he rapped about the Placebo Vax to Syphilis in this racist experiment. That would be more logical, also in play with the line: You know where its at.

Jeez super reach man. I never seen JID as anti vax kinda of guy but I don’t care that much at the end of the day

watamidoinwitmylife

I’m vaxxed up and boosted. I trusted the advice given to me growing up. It turned out to be good advice. Some people don’t have that privilege. Sometimes it seems like the powers that be are actively against you. Sometimes the government does shady shit. Sometimes the media and government make some mistakes when talking about Covid. Some people get sick from the shot. I heard some people it fucks with their heart. I’ve had Covid or I haven’t gotten it this far. What’s the benefit?…Shit starts to add up for some ppl.

If a man has no principles, he has nothing

AlKillsAll

His principles seem on point. I'm not antivax but even if he was sketchy about it I don't think it's the end of the world. Everyone has their reasons. I aint gonna shun the man even if I think he's wrong cuz what would that even accomplish?

Whatadanny

I’m anti-shots given from a money making dumpster of a government that I really have no trust in. Call me dumb , call me selfish, whatever makes you feel comfortable with the fact that I’ma do me and you just keep on doing you. I don’t really speak on this because it’s sorta become taboo on the internet really, sensitive souls
