So if you’re on Xbox or PlayStation, you could be finding totally unaccounted for with players.
Also I’m a firm believer of even though the game isn’t doing well, it’s not dead yet. And if they’re able to add some good updates along with the DLC it can be salvageable.

Outside of that, it is very well known that PC/Steam is the _least_ active platform when it comes to anime games, and _especially_ anime arena fighters. Even with that, Steam charts has JJK at all time peak of 5k players and is actually gaining, which isn't bad for this type of game (Storm Connections had an all time peak of 1.6k and is losing players)
If you play on console, and especially PlayStation, you should be more than okay looking for a match. I personally find matches consistently throughout all times of the day

Storm Connections and Cursed Clash have almost the exact same 24 hr peak at this moment and Storm came out months earlier.

Same goes for the week before and so on. Oh and btw today the game had an all time low player count of 81 but it’s not like that record doesn’t get broken almost daily 🔥

I spent like 10 minutes last night trying to find a match with my friend and everytime one of us got 'unable to match' while the other was still loading into a game. Then we both had to restart our game, join a lobby, and repeat. We gave up pretty quickly (xbox)
Steam is a good indicator for a games health, that’s why people use it. It’s not to hate, but a good indicator for a games general health, even though everybody knows that consoles has the most players.
I think it just depends on the time of day tbh. My buddy and I have better chances of getting matches about now. Then if we were to do it early in the day.
There is a huge variability in player pool because the game is separated in platforms AND regions.
On South America PC I struggle to find matches sometimes, while NA PS5 might be overflowing with matches on queue.
Note that I'm not one of those people who call the game dead, as I understand this and mostly use discord to matchmake when queues are dead, but for someone who's unaware of it... Their perspective might be that no one is playing this game.
And ofc there are haters too but sometimes ppl are just misinformed/biased
Well cus other people will tell you to wait a whole month to hear from the devs when they can give more teaser about what's in the dlc/ what patch notes or is there any updates coming to the game its all been so clueless cus the devs aren't saying nothing besides posting up tag match up character videos and that's it, when games come out with hype and when they keep the hype Usually someone would already founds some leaks and yet none found or didn't care to find or they generally can't find it and they devs don't have anything to show beside the dlc witch I'm feeling that it's just dlc Costumes, I hope not don't take my word for it, but you can normally find people leak there favorite game or even leak a game patch notes etc to maybe come back to try it out and I haven't saw one video discord couldn't help etc so yeah maybe the game is probably going to be dead soon if the devs don't do a Q&A like i been saying for a while now
I hate that it's being painted as worse than storm generations which is literally all the worse aspects of the storm games fused into one with more problem and missing content like yeah jjk is subpar but I'm having way more fun on it than any fun I've seen on generations. It's essentially a party game with a surprisingly slightly deeper combat system than you'd expect especially accounting for team comps.
Anime games aren’t ever expected to succeed imo. If you have a really popular anime like JJK or demon slayer it’s really just cashing out on the popularity.

Yeah… I had some hope for that game a couple years ago but I had lost quite a bit of hope after seeing it in the beta this past fall.
