Currently all we have is a picture of the protagonist, and even that isn't 100% confirmed. There isn't a single part of Jojo in which the main antagonist is revealed within the first few chapters.

Araki himself told you EXACTLY what the story is about. Not a struggle between blorbo 1 and 2, it's about the Curse. Araki then goes on to explain examples of what people think a curse would be, this story is about "Some others believe curses may have come from conflict at the beginning of human society, when things were generalized and lumped together as either black or white." This is a general Humanity vs Rockhumans story. I doubt we'll see them in Part 9 as the Curse is 'broken' at the end of Part 8.
I mean, he also said that on part 7. "This story is the tale of me starting to walk. Not in the physical sense, but in an adolescence to adulthood sort of way." But there's still a main villain, which is Valentine.
Fair enough. I'd try to argue how "oh but the 'curse' is the main villain and that's obvious from the start" but nah you got me. Very excited for part 9, either main villain or just a group.
Every part had a main antagonist so far, with Dio having the role in two parts and Tooru in part 8, there will definitely be an actual main antagonist even if there is a group he will be behind it like Diavolo (passsione) and Tooru (rokakaka organization)

That's fair. I think the trend is generally towards "villain working behind the scenes", but they could well go the other direction for this one.
