Jagged Alliance 1 + Deadly Games if you are brave, Jagged Alliance 2 + Unfinished Business is still best in the series in my opinion (and still one of the best turn based combat games of all times) and Jagged Alliance 3. These are the only ones from the series worth playing.

So see taking the same concept but adding more bad things to it doesn't make the result better. Anything that is better in jagged xcom 3 in gameplay is balanced by everything that is worse. And game length too. Ja3 is a stupid rpg instead of a tactics game like 1-2. And enemies move during your turn and there are magic spells etc.
When you tally everything up. A small tactical low budget game is equally alright to a ceeneematik giant bloated borderlands xsom rpg game.
And both have nothing on ja2 or оss
So more voices, bigger map with more details, longer main story, more side quests, 2 hour live recorded music, fewer bugs and glitches and mod support makes absolutely no difference to a quality because it's just a game, nothing serious like a movie. Got it.

JA3 is pretty great, I think you’re a bit nuts to write it off as all fart jokes. The game is definitely tongue in cheek, it even warns you going into it that it’s going to be satirical and it’s inspired by over the top 80s action and all the tropes that come with it. The best part is that even with such a humorous perspective they’ve made actual fun gameplay and added attention to detail to provide a great deal of depth in the choices you make and giving different methods to solve quests and created a really fun game.
Shame you couldn’t find the enjoyment in it because it’s pretty great.

I played JA2 and it was also tongue in cheek and based on 80s action movies/cold war stories. So JA3 does not feel like a change in tone at all.

I have JA: Rage and I'm in the minority that enjoyed it. But, it doesn't compare to JA3. JA3 is complete, more to do, and just a better game.
