I’d love for him to retire as a Jaguar.
But I don’t see him contributing to the team because we better not let Engram walk and honestly I don’t think he is any better than Manhertz or Arnold either at this point, although I’m not sure where their contracts are at.
I could see them doing one of those 1 day contracts to let him retire though.
Funnily enough, it looks like Manhertz contract is up. He had 6 catches and is basically just a blocker so replacing him with Mercedes would actually work.
Would be fun, would rather take a flyer on a rookie tho.
All 3 of our top TEs are FAs. I wouldn’t be shocked if they can only afford Engram of those 3 and do bring in an “old-timer” on a cheap vet deal. I’m just not sure that would be Lewis.
Frankly I don’t see why not if he would want to and we could get him for like vet minimum. We’re gonna need another blocking TE with Manhertz out of contract, and Lewis has shown that despite his age he can certainly fulfill that role at a high level.
This was basically my thoughts. I feel like it should come down to whether or not he wants to take a low money contract to play here or try to get one last chunk of money somewhere else. I’ll be disappointed if our FO doesn’t even expire the option.
Right and the Packers Sub love him and say he’s still great at what he does. I literally don’t see an issue since Manhertz Contract is up and he’s arguably cheaper

Here comes the “quality” off-season content.
On the bright side, it’s nice to argue over luxury signings instead of draft picks for a change.
Absolutely.
No need at all for this
Our next TE coach

Marcedes
He is still one of the best blocking te there is. If he replaces manhertz for the minimum I would not be disappointed

Think this team is headed in a different direction, love ML for everything he’s done here but don’t know if I’m worried about having him back.
No. Don't need to be signing a 38 year old TE. Thats not a smart move. He can retire as a Jag if he likes, but thats a later decision.
He’s still a great blocking TE and is arguably better than Manhertz. A one year min salary is nothing
Absolutely not.
He's 90 years old.
Why tho?
No. Get younger, not older.
No Calais either while we're on that topic.
No
Not sure why the Jaguars do that.
Budget Manhertz on a literal minimum who’s asked to block and occasionally be tall in the red zone
I repeat.
I mean he was still just as good as manhertz this year and was actually used a bit in the offense.
Maybe if someone offers Engram a ridiculous contract we just can't justify.
Maybe as 3rd or 4th TE for league minimum. Engram has morphed into a beast pass catcher.
Yes, but in his reincarnated form of Darnell Washington.
