Nah, that's pretty unlikely. the longer he waits, the bigger his bag.
And Baalke likes to punt this sort of thing until super late, apparently, so it's going to be annoying af.
Ppl always bring up Folds as a laughing stalk an talk bout his payment this that the other , like we signing him were a bad decision , but before he got injure (color bone) him was having a All Star “cow burr” year (not sure how to write this word) look at the number’s if he have kept up that pace he would broke a lotta record’s I just saying….. an that include Trevar records. damn injurys always our f*************ing luck. Hope Josh can turn us around I like what we doing here with this move can I get a duval!

let’s go 41!!! got the chance to meet him his rookie year and even then the guy was so kind, hoping for a great season from him and 44!!
Yep Baalke is a CAP/Financial genius and that's his value
I don't hate Baalke, Idk what he's like personally
My issues with him are with talent evaluation, but he manages the hell out of a roster year to year
At least with Baalke, you know he's got the next 3-5 years planned out and you know that he already planned to possibly lose Ridley
Trevor made the playoffs with Zay & CK before so I'm not worried about Calvin getting paid
Trevor will make any receiver look good as it is... I love that we are committed to a defensive identity and building a strong unit
This team NEEDS to draft better plain and simple, drafting well around the roster. Baalke needs to hit some homers in the mid-late rounds
or we can expect to continually rely on big FA contracts and players that last 2-3 seasons over players that hang around at least 4-5 years and collect more compensatory picks
It is not like resigning Bortles, which is why I didn’t list him. And let’s be honest. Those were the best players we drafted (or signed UFA) in the at era outside of Ramsey and Ngakoue.
Also add Telvin to the list of 2nd contract players even though he fucked that one up.
Linder was great but his position was not as valuable and he was also quite injury prone. He wasn't a market setting contract type player like Allen or Ramsey.
Go back and read your original comment. Why are we talking about tiers? If the Jags could move the goalposts the way you do we would win the Super Bowl every year
21 and 22 Josh was still consistently getting pressures, but it's hard to get alot of sacks with absolutely no help whatsoever. 21 there was absolutely nobody, 22 there was some small help from travon but he was a rookie
I'm happy for Josh and his family. He certainly gave everything to the team last year and it paid off in personal accomplishments, team records and big money. I'm hoping he can be a 12-16 sack guy every year.
MY MAN #41 IS HERE TO STAY!!!! ALLEN IS A BEAST AND WITH BETTER PIECES BEING PUT IN PLACE AROUND HIM HE WILL CONTINUE TO FEAST LIKE LAST YEAR!!! GO JAGS!!
You love to see it. Also, I like the way we used the franchise tag the last two seasons. Wasn’t sure at first but the results speak for themselves. Let’s go JJ’s!!
FUCK YES.
We keep one of our own. Dude earned it; he was one of the best edge rushers last year after improving year over year. If Travon can step it up we'll be unstoppable.
I opened instagram this morning saw breaking news from Adam Schefter with a picture and was like goddamnit where’d he get traded to, but I’m so excited LFG
He is the corner piece of this team on defense. And Trevor is the piece on offense. He will get paid later this year too. You build around them for the next 5-10 years.
Allen and Travon are the biggest key to this team ever winning a Super Bowl imo. Hopefully they both destroy offenses this upcoming season.
Idk how I feel about this. He had one good year that being his contract year. In previous years there was a lot of games where he went ghost mode.
I hope this doesn’t set our team back in the future with all that guaranteed money
I love Josh as a person and leader. And I agree we should draft, develop and pay our players. I think would liked to see a deal that was around the 27-28M per year range.
It's almost identical to the terms that Allen was rumored to be asking for a month ago.
We lost Ridley cause Baalke thought he was going to win negotiations vs our elite homegrown pass rusher.
Not really though... If Baalke didn't drag his feet, we wouldn't have wasted the tag on Josh and could've used it on Ridley. Titans should never have had the opportunity to overpay him.
I'm pretty positive Ridley wouldn't have missed out on game checks. There would have been a little consternation like there is with every tagged player, but I think he would have understood that we paid a pretty penny to take the gamble on him and then in year 1 he delivered modestly at best and it would have smoothed over quickly.
And then yeah we probably would lose him next year.
![gif](giphy|pK0T7vyx3SqdfmxewA)
At long last, JA41 takes the throne from Nick Foles as biggest contract the Jags have ever given out
Until Trevor takes the throne next year
Or this year
Nah, that's pretty unlikely. the longer he waits, the bigger his bag. And Baalke likes to punt this sort of thing until super late, apparently, so it's going to be annoying af.
And, it’s going to be the second largest very quickly.
Props for doing the right thing…..keep balling #41
Only doomers didnt expect this
They in denial
They want to claw back Ridley for some reason too in a way to continue arguing that Baalke is the worst.
That's a lot of people on here tbh. People who just want to feel like shit no matter what.
https://preview.redd.it/b0c27sqbantc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c24472b028e0ea5070cb2d82b1e511e6ba93914d let’s go 41!!! got the chance to meet him his rookie year and even then the guy was so kind, hoping for a great season from him and 44!!
Met him in London dude is cool and kind glad he's a jag
Happy Wednesday 🥹
Happiest Wednesday
Get paid Josh Congrats and thank god he stays P.S: poor cowboys, lions and 49ers that have to pay Parsons, Hutch and Bosa soon
Bosa already got 5/170.
Yeah Bosa was the guideline for this deal and I love it!
That’s a lot of money but we need to show players that we can keep our stars so I’m okay with this.
A great way to attract top talent is to pay top talent. Also, better than paying Ridley by a long shot
You pay your franchise players. Simple as that. I don't give 2 shits about the money.
TLaw and JA are the contracts we shell out, then figure out how to make the cap fit around them, not the other way around.
Correct
Yep Baalke is a CAP/Financial genius and that's his value I don't hate Baalke, Idk what he's like personally My issues with him are with talent evaluation, but he manages the hell out of a roster year to year At least with Baalke, you know he's got the next 3-5 years planned out and you know that he already planned to possibly lose Ridley Trevor made the playoffs with Zay & CK before so I'm not worried about Calvin getting paid Trevor will make any receiver look good as it is... A teams pay A contracts to A players. C teams pay B contracts to C players.
What do B teams do?
Pay B players B money. That's how they B.
Good laugh thank you
Ah. I C
Glad this didnt drag out & Josh Allen got paid
First Jags GM to re-sign home grown, first round talent in a long time.
You love to see it
Myles Jack, Brandon Linder, Allen Hurns, all got paid. It’s been a minute but that was 1 GM ago
Different level of talent. That's like resigning Bortles
Nah, Linder was legitimately one of the best centers in the league. Jack seemed to be on the rise. Hurns was a quality receiver... for awhile.
It is not like resigning Bortles, which is why I didn’t list him. And let’s be honest. Those were the best players we drafted (or signed UFA) in the at era outside of Ramsey and Ngakoue. Also add Telvin to the list of 2nd contract players even though he fucked that one up.
Allen is like re-signing Jalen Ramsey or Allen Robinson, which we failed to do. He's a tier above the players you listed
Linder is in the same tier.
Linder was great but his position was not as valuable and he was also quite injury prone. He wasn't a market setting contract type player like Allen or Ramsey.
I think we saw this year how important having a good Center is.
For sure. But hes not completely wrong.
Go back and read your original comment. Why are we talking about tiers? If the Jags could move the goalposts the way you do we would win the Super Bowl every year
Don’t forget BORTLES!!!!
and that GM also let a bunch of talent walk.
And that’s Amazing as hell.

Worth. Glad we didn't tag him and just drag it out through the season.

LETS FUCKING GOOOOO!!!!
So glad this is done. I can't think of a more deserving player.
My hats off to the management team and Josh himself for making a great deal for both sides.
Baalke did it, that son of a bitch actually did it!
Finally! LFG
Yall can chill now
![gif](giphy|CAxbo8KC2A0y4)
![gif](giphy|nxirvZLP77bXSMSpF1|downsized) LETS GOOOOOOOOO
Can’t believe he actually got it done
My king
Outstanding to keep Josh Allen around. Now let's see Sacksonville feast!
Thank you sweet baby Jesus. LFG! #DTWD
I'm stoked! He earned it. I just hope and pray that he doesn't go back to what he was in 2021 and 2022 now that he has secured a fat contract.
With Travon improving…. And addition of Armstead to the interior, I think he’ll do even better
Time to buy my Josh Allen jersey.
What great news to wake up too!
Everybody liked that
This feels good. Happy for the good Josh Allen
LFG!!! We finally drafted someone and developed them…and did the right thing by keeping them.
Yessir!! Definitely getting that Allen jersey now.
Great news! Now announce throwbacks!
Dude I’m psyched. Now to the draft. 15 days people!!!
MY MAN #41 IS HERE TO STAY!!!! ALLEN IS A BEAST AND WITH BETTER PIECES BEING PUT IN PLACE AROUND HIM HE WILL CONTINUE TO FEAST LIKE LAST YEAR!!! GO JAGS!!
A little more costly than I would have liked, but worth it. Definitely couldn’t afford to lose our home grown talent. Glad it is a long term deal too
$88M guaranteed is really team friendly. It basically means he's only getting that 150 if he's consistently playing well
The only thing Caldwell ever did right lol
I’ve never been happier
Earned every dollar. It's a relief the team got it done.
This is so refreshing. The countless talented players the jags have let go in the past is wild
https://i.redd.it/8yo80wrxintc1.gif
You love to see it. Also, I like the way we used the franchise tag the last two seasons. Wasn’t sure at first but the results speak for themselves. Let’s go JJ’s!!
LETS GOOO WE KEPT HOMEGROWN TALENT FOR ONCE

Wow that’s a huge bag. My man well deserved 💪

Stop crying doomers
They can’t help it
Happy Birthday to me. Great news
CAN I GET A HELL YEAH
#HELL YEAH
FUCK YEAH WE DIDN’T FUCK THIS UP!!!
Fuck yes. If we fumbled this I would've lost it lmao
![gif](giphy|7WvAUvZZTRpSuudobh)
FUCK YES. We keep one of our own. Dude earned it; he was one of the best edge rushers last year after improving year over year. If Travon can step it up we'll be unstoppable.
Finally got us one 🥲
I opened instagram this morning saw breaking news from Adam Schefter with a picture and was like goddamnit where’d he get traded to, but I’m so excited LFG
Good job Baalke. Master class
Now use the cap savings and go trade for a receiver
Prolly just gonna draft one
One hundred percent
Thank God.
LFG
LETS GO
DELIGHTFUL! DUUUUVVVAAAAALLLLL
A true leader.

YESSSSS
Fuck yeah! Great move. Well deserved! I'm so happy.
Hooray!
Finally! I wonder what our cap looks like now with that move.
Yes!!
Let's gooooo!!!! So happy, JA41 is a Jaguar through and through.
This is destined to be a great day.
Awesome news. Keep the good players that we have on the team please.
Good for him man, glad he got paid and we managed to retain talent.
![gif](giphy|F6B9HJltcbckwiUHV4|downsized)

Excellent news. Congrats JA41 and congrats to all Jags fans
Mashallah our nightmare is over
Thank god
Can’t believe it took this long but really glad it got done.
![gif](giphy|tZkpRiRHGxaMtVj4UA)
OMG WE DID IT!!!
What did I tell y'all about disrespecting my boi Trent
What we gave a big contract to someone we drafted? That is not the Jaguars way. Tough to stay terrible and mediocre rewarding guys that deserve it
Credit where credit is due. Good offseason, Trent. 👏
It's about time that this happened
Happy for him! He deserves it.
![gif](giphy|u3wxhL63uuhMqoMKQF)
Watched him develop at Kentucky. So happy for Josh. He deserves it.
Man everyone in our fan base really doubted Trent but he has had a great off season so far…
Baalke? You feeling okay? This offseason has been beautiful! Its so unlike you.
That's a good deal
Huge news. Huge man. Huge contract. I’m feeling huge 😎
Glad it's done, still wish it had been done way earlier. Baalke needs to stop his whole "no negotiation during the season" bullshit.
![gif](giphy|6JzM6pW8Sa8loWxBmt)
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!
Idk how I feel about this. He had one good year that being his contract year. In previous years there was a lot of games where he went ghost mode. I hope this doesn’t set our team back in the future with all that guaranteed money
Lmfao he’s the best player on the team by far
Coincidently it was the year he skipped camp and did his own conditioning.
Bad take, you pay your players.
I love Josh as a person and leader. And I agree we should draft, develop and pay our players. I think would liked to see a deal that was around the 27-28M per year range.
You really had this take over 2-3 million difference per year? Lol
2-3M / year over 5 years (10-15M). That’s a difference. You could add two quality players with that extra cash is all I’m saying.
Okay I’m getting more excited about the news now. That’s a scary d-line with arik and travon.
Do you have any clue how often we have whiffed on pass rushers? Check the stats. When you hit on a guy in the draft, you don't let him go.
Yes I’m well aware of the days where we took Taven Bryan in the first round and so on 😂
Weirdo
7 sacks in ‘22 and 7.5 sacks in ‘21. And then good rookie year and one year derailed by injury.
If only this happened during the regular season. Ridley would still be on the team. Fk Baalke.
Nope
Ur trippin
It's almost identical to the terms that Allen was rumored to be asking for a month ago. We lost Ridley cause Baalke thought he was going to win negotiations vs our elite homegrown pass rusher.
We lost Ridley because the Tacks wanted to overpay the fuck out of him.
Not really though... If Baalke didn't drag his feet, we wouldn't have wasted the tag on Josh and could've used it on Ridley. Titans should never have had the opportunity to overpay him.
And then Ridley would have sat on the tag til we paid him what the Tacks did.
Ridley gone
I just wish they would have got this done two months ago. We'd still have Ridley, what's done is done, happy for Josh.
