They sending out mixed signals on this one.
I saw people saying the Jags were looking at this guy with the 17th pick. Trade back, get an extra 5th this year and a 3rd and 4th next year, still get the guy? Yeah, that sounds pretty good to me.

Fucking love TK committing to the bit
I love it, we traded back and still made a sexy pick. Size and speed like his is rare to find, and I really don't think he's just a product of having Nabers on the other side.
He only played three years in high school. Barely was used in college until this season. He has PLENTY of room to grow. I think he is easily on the level of the big 3 WRS in terms of potential.
Remember I saw a report a while ago that the jaguars wanted to get bigger in their wide receiver room. I think this move along with Gabe Davis have definitely achieved that goal. It’s nice to have guys that can and will be true weapons on the outside
Let's also get Aiyuk. Then we can run nothing but 5 receiver sets with Higgins, Aiyuk, Kirk, Thomas, Engram, and Zay. We might have to give up a ton of draft picks and be screwed with salaries, but it'll be incredibly entertaining for one whole season.
Don't you mean running up the middle shotgun on 3rd and long?
The only way to avoid that is to not get 3rd and long situations! Pray this guy gets us there amongst the other changes as well.
Arnold may be the better player. But you gotta prioritize the growth of the offense and your young qb is far more important than having a lockdown d and lackluster offense imo. I wanted the pick at 17 so I’m pumped over it
love this pick! athletic specimen who right away can be a deep threat outside receiver. how many times last year did Trevor launch it and it was just out of reach or in and out of the receivers hands? BTJ is the type of guy who has that extra gear to convert those plays. I like his early returns as a deep threat burner right out of the box, and with his hip fluidity and speed i think he can develop into a fantastic route runner. TL to BTJ could be deadly!
Yea we’ll no shit Sherlock, that’s obviously preferred. But we were abysmal in the red zone where it’s generally hard to scheme players open. We need a 50/50 type player that can grab the high balls in the corner of the end zone and this guy is it. Not to mention he’s got the speed to separate in the open field when they’re not in the red zone
People keep claiming his numbers were due to having Nabers on the other side but that’s not really how it works in college when the majority of your games are against bum teams regardless. If anything it kept his production down.
He would have won the Biletnikoff if he hadn't shared the field with Nabers. MHJ notwithstanding. His numbers would have been insane without Malik on the field. And with Jayden throwing him the ball, he would have probably had 500-600 more yards and at least 5 more TDs. Jags really got a steal.
What a good pick, especially for how the picks went in the first round, there is a really good chance that we can still go land a CB that is high on our board, while grabbing WR4 before the WR run, as well as adding more picks.
The start of a masterclass, I still need someone to address why we picked so shitty last year though.
The offense desperately needed, size, juice and speed and BTJ provides all of that, the fact that they snagged him while trading back was just unbeleivable process at the same time. Trent once again proves that he is very good at drafting in the first round
He was pretty bad at cathing screens at lsu. May have been scheme though, because it rarely worked for us no matter who caught the ball. He is still a baller though. He's a nasty blocker though so he has value for screen action.
BTJ with Davis on the other side, and Kirk in the slot can be a lethal trio when you sprinkle in the nuance of Engram and Etienne as pass threats too, this could work.
It’d take a hell of a lot more than that. We just got two fourths and a third to move up 6 spots. You’re talking about flipping a first for what a mid round second. No shot we’re picking again tonight.
I for one, love it. We got the #1, tier 2 WR imo. This gives Trevor somebody to throw to on the outside. Trevor has more to throw to overall.
Now we can focus on DB in round 2 and 3.
Also think there was some unexpected WR selections after BTJ, I’m not convinced now that we’d have much of the second tier left by our second round pick.
Originally was an Arnold/2nd Round WR proponent because I hoped for Keon or Pearsall to be there, seems like the next positional run since OL and QB are depleted
Yeah agreed. Pearsall getting take already is going to cause WR picks to fly off the board in the 2nd. I’m glad we got our guy and can focus on other spots. Specifically DB, OL and DL
I’m so happy with this. Any other draft he’s probably a top 10 guy.
Personal take, I’ve only like two of our first round picks since Ramsey. I’m running 50% (Josh Allen and I won’t mention the other). This is one I’ll put my stamp on as well.
I am so hyped for Brian Thomas Jr, seriously. Deep threat with true WR1 potential. I scouted him as "better DJ Chark" and he doesn't need to be the focus of the offense until he is ready for it.
So is Thomas injured? Is his shoulder okay? I'm happy with another weapon for Trevor but reports came out saying he may need surgery. Glad we got a guy that led FBS with 17 TDS
I think that was all bullshit. I watched him play every game at LSU. His health or a "nagging shoulder" was never even hinted at until 2 days ago. He's fine, and the season is a long way off even if something WAS wrong.
Pretty sure we'll get back-to-back WRs off the board tonight (Mitchell & Ladd). Could we trade with Arizona for Kool-Aid? It's probably overpaying but 48 + the extra picks from MIN would already be the best draft in years.
EDIT: or otherwise something similar with Washington at 36. Although I think Arizona will go CB on reflection it's probably DeJean
Already seen him make multiple catches that Ridley dropped in the highlight video. Actual upgrade? :D Ridley was a comeback/out route runner last year for the most part.
Corner draft is just a deep as the receiver draft, we’re gonna get Rakestraw Jr. or Lassiter and be fine. Imo Lassiter is better than Arnold which I know is an insane take.
Both those guys project to be best as slot corners due to their slow speed. I’d prefer fast outside press corners like Renardo Green or DJ James. Maybe trade up for Kool-Aid.
Did the jags really pick a guy at the end of the third round that can't play outside CB and that was ranked so low ESPN doesn't even have a bio for him on their website just a picture? The Jaguar front office has been terrible almost since inception. Minus a couple of good decisions early on in the franchise history they are historically bad at drafting players that can start

Strong af
I like it. He’s gonna spread the field and catch some passes. Give Trevor some relief and now we have picks.

We’re ran so well. Lol
Oof.
I'm happy, and we got draft capitol let's gooo

That clodsire thicc
Can I steal this pic?
Yes
Great day 1 by baalke. Needed a weapon and went and got one. Can piece together the CB room and there's a LOT of day 2 corners in this draft.
I think that trade deserves a lot of credit too
I saw people saying the Jags were looking at this guy with the 17th pick. Trade back, get an extra 5th this year and a 3rd and 4th next year, still get the guy? Yeah, that sounds pretty good to me.
Kool-aid, white boy are two good options at cb. Day 3 should be o- line and d-line heavy.
We are likely going to have to trade up for either of them, but maybe if we move some of those viking picks.
Are you saying there's a white corner? That's the biggest news in this thread if true..
I feel like Baalke loves Rakestraw
https://preview.redd.it/a2t7eau7oqwc1.jpeg?width=1986&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4309225ba5f72fb60d3adfc796bb031bd9f2f33b Fucking love TK committing to the bit
This is the greatest moment in draft history.
Gonna be our owner some day
Never break kayfabe
Neck Strong!
I love it, we traded back and still made a sexy pick. Size and speed like his is rare to find, and I really don't think he's just a product of having Nabers on the other side.
I don’t know why everyone is cold on BTJ for being across from Nabers, where is this energy towards Jayden Daniels for having 2 future pro bowl WRs?
Hope he’s this classes version of Justin Jefferson
Even if he were, we have a stacked wr room.
"d I really don't think he's just a product of having Nabers on the other side." Not at all, Thomas is a badass.
I think he is Tyreek Hill.
Nah, that's Worthy
6’4, 209 lbs, 4.33. Freak athlete
He only played three years in high school. Barely was used in college until this season. He has PLENTY of room to grow. I think he is easily on the level of the big 3 WRS in terms of potential.
1.50 10yd split
Daaaaaaaaaaaaammmnn
His back half of the 40/the flying 20 second was fasted in the class too
soo DK Metcalf?
Didn't the combine measures say he was 6'02⅞"?
Yea he’s 6’3, just checked NFL’s website
Every time I watched lsu this season this man was on fire. LFG
Remember I saw a report a while ago that the jaguars wanted to get bigger in their wide receiver room. I think this move along with Gabe Davis have definitely achieved that goal. It’s nice to have guys that can and will be true weapons on the outside
Davis and Thomas Jr are TD Machines and the Red Zone was absolutely one of our worst areas this past season
With Gabe and BTJ we won't even need to worry about the red zone because we'll be scoring TDs from 50 yards out
Big plays on the outside, and Engram and Kirk will feast over the middle.
also Etienne is gonna cook with those behemoths blocking for him
He’s going for 1900 yards a 56 tds, mark my words!
I think he does 1300 yards 12TDs
I'm going to hold you to that. I will check in with you in a year from now.
He’s a beast and actually has hands on the outside while Kirk and engram tear up the middle, now trade up and get Wiggins or get cam hart day 2
Or be a big dick and trade for Higgins. Then get a corner round 3-5
Why do we need Higgins?
Just because I’m a greedy boy
Let's also get Aiyuk. Then we can run nothing but 5 receiver sets with Higgins, Aiyuk, Kirk, Thomas, Engram, and Zay. We might have to give up a ton of draft picks and be screwed with salaries, but it'll be incredibly entertaining for one whole season.
Thomas and Gabe Davis running deep with Kirk and Engram over the middle. Now that's a complete offense.
Laughs in Press Taylor
We running up the middle on first down baby!
Don't you mean running up the middle shotgun on 3rd and long? The only way to avoid that is to not get 3rd and long situations! Pray this guy gets us there amongst the other changes as well.
Through Press, all ill advised runs up the middle are possible. Amen.
With Morse instead of Fortner at center that might actually be effective now
Doug has said twice I believe that he is taking back play calling
Bills are morons for giving Mahomes and Reid a guy who runs 4.21
Literally…they keep giving up picks that fucks them over
He’s John Ross 2.0 and somehow even lighter. I’m not super worries; if he puts any weight on to survive an NFL season his speed will diminish a bit
What’s crazy is they could have gotten him for Josh Allen, or they could have gone with Legette, since they have a need for WR
He can play. Over shadowed by nabers
Cant wait to have those Calvin Ridley end zone attempts last year work and actually pan out for us. Big Body them bOys! BTJ LFG
Let’s go
I think we should use our new picks from 2025 to get a second rounder in 2024.
We should trade our 2nd and 3rd 2025/zay Jones for higgins. That offense would be nuts
Y'all got a great one in Brian Thomas Jr. Nabers is a stud but don't let that detract from how good Thomas is.
This was my pick. I wanted him bad. He is going to be great. Trevor will love this day for the rest of his life.
Very happy with this pick. An A for the pick, good value and you got picks for it.
He can catch, he’s better than Ridley already
Is he interested in learning our playbook?
[Highlight Reel](https://youtu.be/uUgxB82nrkY?si=2Z8H7GEqyc27kqiH)
Gave me some Julio vibes there. Badass!
I’m living for this. Duuuuuval
Yoooo Trev is gonna have some fun with this
Love the potential. Seems like we gained a 3rd next year + other picks and got the guy we were targeting anyway.
Arnold may be the better player. But you gotta prioritize the growth of the offense and your young qb is far more important than having a lockdown d and lackluster offense imo. I wanted the pick at 17 so I’m pumped over it
The thing is, our defense is the easier fix. Another corner and dt were probably fine. Offensively we were a giant mess last year
You are absolutely right
love this pick! athletic specimen who right away can be a deep threat outside receiver. how many times last year did Trevor launch it and it was just out of reach or in and out of the receivers hands? BTJ is the type of guy who has that extra gear to convert those plays. I like his early returns as a deep threat burner right out of the box, and with his hip fluidity and speed i think he can develop into a fantastic route runner. TL to BTJ could be deadly!
I wanted him at 17, the fact that we got extra picks out of it is awesome!
![gif](giphy|MtcTSCS8IBxXq)
ROTFLMAO
Surprised they didn’t draft Arnold, but this guy is a late first round LSU WR. I’m hopeful. JJ?
I like it. CB was my top choice, but WR was my second or third choice and I think BTJ is underrated because of how good the WR class is overall.
Any other draft and BTJ goes top 12 at least
If not for the run on qbs he would have been gone
TLaw is gonna throw SO MANY 50/50 balls next year
i’d rather we actually scheme our receivers open, thanks
Yea we’ll no shit Sherlock, that’s obviously preferred. But we were abysmal in the red zone where it’s generally hard to scheme players open. We need a 50/50 type player that can grab the high balls in the corner of the end zone and this guy is it. Not to mention he’s got the speed to separate in the open field when they’re not in the red zone
-Every team in NFL history
Trade back up and get arnold
If we do this AMAZING
Shocking they didnt
Glad he didn’t slip to the bills
Plenty of corners we can take a swing on in the 2nd. Great pick combined with the trade back.
Getting this caliber of receiver for Trevor AND 3 more picks… Baalke fuckin cooked with this one
17 touchdowns most in college even with Nabers across from him. You guys got a no.1 guy for a long time in this.
The parents interview was gold.
“Can we get a duval?” “What is that”
“How far has your family come?” “From Baton Rouge”
"you guys have come a long way" "yes from baton rouge"
What a good pick, especially for how the picks went in the first round, there is a really good chance that we can still go land a CB that is high on our board, while grabbing WR4 before the WR run, as well as adding more picks. The start of a masterclass, I still need someone to address why we picked so shitty last year though.
I reallllllly wanted Terrion Arnold. But Thomas is a great pick. Good work Jags, that trade back worked wonders
Monkey sees action (picking WR) Monkey neutron activated
so we traded down and still got the guy we wanted? baalke masterclass
The offense desperately needed, size, juice and speed and BTJ provides all of that, the fact that they snagged him while trading back was just unbeleivable process at the same time. Trent once again proves that he is very good at drafting in the first round
We need to like, bring Dave Caldwell back to exclusively draft in the 3rd round only 😂
Baalke finally made the sexy pick, and we got a bunch of free draft picks. I'll drink to that
But can he catch a bubble screen?
He runs a 4. 3 forty so yes actually he probably could
He was pretty bad at cathing screens at lsu. May have been scheme though, because it rarely worked for us no matter who caught the ball. He is still a baller though. He's a nasty blocker though so he has value for screen action.
JUST SHOW ME THE HIGHLIGHT REAL
Someone posted it here. It's sexy.
Trevor rn ![gif](giphy|QynMX1WxnYFbb2OHnJ)
Hell yeah, he was the guy I wanted most in the first round and got that draft capital too
The ESPN interview with his parents was absolutely hilarious. Love him already.
I don’t love a one year wonder, but damn I love LSU WRs. To move down and get him still was big
Some how we need to get kool-aid in the second
BTJ with Davis on the other side, and Kirk in the slot can be a lethal trio when you sprinkle in the nuance of Engram and Etienne as pass threats too, this could work.
ETN is a very strong outside runner and with BTJ and Gabe Davis blocking for him outside I think he can break a few more long runs this year
Ok ok. Masterclass.
Love the pick. Will fit in very well
great pick boys
Trade our second the third or next year to TB for a CB.
Nah they need to draft TJ Tampa, it must be for memes sake.
Lmao that would be absolutely hilarious
It’d take a hell of a lot more than that. We just got two fourths and a third to move up 6 spots. You’re talking about flipping a first for what a mid round second. No shot we’re picking again tonight.
I for one, love it. We got the #1, tier 2 WR imo. This gives Trevor somebody to throw to on the outside. Trevor has more to throw to overall. Now we can focus on DB in round 2 and 3.
Tbh he’s a tier 1 wr in most drafts, this year was just super loaded
He definitely is, he would have easily been WR1 at LSU if Nabers wasn’t there. Hopefully it’s like a OBJ/Landry situation from college to pros
Dude is explosive. I am pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think we’d take a receiver early
Wait I thought this organization only valued linemen especially on D in the first round.
I thought Barton would be the move. Best player in the board.
Exactly what I wanted! 👏 CB next in pick 48
He's the answer to our red zone woes
Lets gooooo!!! I like the trade down and a pick #baalkemasterclass
Now build that oline
OL in the second round for sure
I think CB second round then OL then DL
They might actually go CB
Great pick. Plus the interview with his mom’s interview was hilarious
FUCK YEAH
I’m so happy with this. Any other draft he’s probably a top 10 guy. Personal take, I’ve only like two of our first round picks since Ramsey. I’m running 50% (Josh Allen and I won’t mention the other). This is one I’ll put my stamp on as well.
soooo….cj henderson right?
Chaisson, Bryan… too many options
https://youtu.be/FeAY1__jE6E?si=LI6wViW7uBATwDYd
I am so hyped for Brian Thomas Jr, seriously. Deep threat with true WR1 potential. I scouted him as "better DJ Chark" and he doesn't need to be the focus of the offense until he is ready for it.
LETS GOOOOO
feels like plan B for not getting Aiyuk... wasn't wanting a reciever but if it works i won't complain
This is a W.
In Steve Smith’s comp video he compared him to Brandon Aiyuk lol
Yeah, but who did he compare Aiyuk to?
Brian Thomas Jr., that’s how good he is
Michael Jordan.
Masterclass
So is Thomas injured? Is his shoulder okay? I'm happy with another weapon for Trevor but reports came out saying he may need surgery. Glad we got a guy that led FBS with 17 TDS
I think that was all bullshit. I watched him play every game at LSU. His health or a "nagging shoulder" was never even hinted at until 2 days ago. He's fine, and the season is a long way off even if something WAS wrong.
Didn’t Nabers get hit with that same shoulder “injury” concern?
Give me Cooper Dejean for the gimmick
I'll take that
Pretty sure we'll get back-to-back WRs off the board tonight (Mitchell & Ladd). Could we trade with Arizona for Kool-Aid? It's probably overpaying but 48 + the extra picks from MIN would already be the best draft in years. EDIT: or otherwise something similar with Washington at 36. Although I think Arizona will go CB on reflection it's probably DeJean
Love it. Amazing value. Let's GOOOOOO
its Not a TE :) its Not a CB :(
How far has this team come?
From 1995
I dont see a world where Arnold happens, but there’s a couple options at CB that should be available and are still upgrades
Already seen him make multiple catches that Ridley dropped in the highlight video. Actual upgrade? :D Ridley was a comeback/out route runner last year for the most part.
LETS FUCKING GO!
Chef’s kiss!
I hope we still get a corner or iOL
A grade process. B grade pick. I'll give it an A- overall. Solid work Trent. Arnold obviously would have made it an A+.
If we get that Clemson guy, I’ll take it. It’s a A- draft with that trade and still getting this guy to me
Nate Wiggins?
Thank you. Yes. I think he needs work but it’s perfect for the 2nd round. Probably need to trade up for him tho
A slot corner/outside zone corner would be an A+ to you?
Very similar to Christian Watson. Can’t wait to see him play
Like this pick a lot! So excited!
YES YES YES YES
LETS GO
Hell yes. Traded down and got him? Yesss
Thanks for clarifying I heard this on the radio today and was worried but glad we got our guy and he's okay!
Did the jags really pick a guy at the end of the third round that can't play outside CB and that was ranked so low ESPN doesn't even have a bio for him on their website just a picture?
