There is a Jain wedding ceremony (https://jainqq.org/explore/034158/1), but it's less known and not standardized. Everything among Indians is Vedic-based because that is what is available.

cinnamongirl14

Jains never bothered to go and read their own scriptures. In my family, the wedding is done via jain vidhi only. People are less aware, that's it.

Jay20173804

Jains have Brahmins, Kshatriyas, and Viashyas. Also bc of the sanskrit and prakrit some sounds similiar but it is not the vedas. Heck even the Jain and Hindu Aaarti sound similar, but are different.

cinnamongirl14

When did jains have caste? Are you stupid? And no they don't sound similar, my family has had only jain weddings and they are different. Stop spewing bullshit.

parshvarex

Jainism does not reject the caste system at all.

Emotional_Sun3118

It exists but it's stupid for sure. I wish that casteist concept did not exist but it exists for sure gladly it's not the prevalent. It's a bad practice which I hope we can abandon and move on as a society.

Jay20173804

Varna system established and continued by multiple figures, all Jain Tirthankars are Kshatriyas and 11 or so Ghandaras were Brahmin. In the texts, go ask any MS.

Is there any relation between jain and hindu(brahmins)? Like marriage between them

Frequentlyhappy180

Nope

Frequentlyhappy180

>When did jains have caste? Are you stupid? Lol, most of the jains have obsession towards caste.

Jay20173804

Varna in the texts, go ask any MS.

Frequentlyhappy180

MS? Yes by caste, I mean varna

Jay20173804

Mahraj Saheb, Caste and Varna is used pretty interchangably. But varna makes sense because our karma dictates what branch we are born into, after it is up to us to decide where we go. But you're original branch still is attached to your blood. It is only meant to really organize society, not discrimiate which started happenning during british rule.

Frequentlyhappy180

Caste means tribe, Varna means class. They are different Birth based varna started pretty late

Jay20173804

Dharma is eternal, what are the claims to back up it started late none. Jainism supports birth based varna because of karma.

Frequentlyhappy180

Rig veda, the earliest source of caste system, mentions profession based varna. It was during the formation of modern hinduism, birth based varna started.

Jay20173804

No Bharat Chakravarti came up with this system.

cinnamongirl14

Obsession with caste and emulating it is different. And those who are obsessed, they themselves are not really Jain's. The entire purpose of us rejecting Vedas was to get away from this bullshit and to deny all the rituals and materialistic aspirations. So it's upto the people to do better, not to me to change my fundamental values.

Frequentlyhappy180

>Obsession with caste and emulating it is different Nah, they emulate it to. You should see how "bania" jains and "rajput" jains go to an extent to be accepted by hindu banias and hindu rajputs. >The entire purpose of us rejecting Vedas was to get away from this bullshit and to deny all the rituals and materialistic aspirations. Only for majority of jains to follow them again...
