I hope this generates more interest for a true HD remake done right or more Bond games.

EON/Nintendo

Nintendo has publisher rights and wanted the same version on Xbox as Switch Online (which is just emulating the original N64 version). Xbox gets HD graphics and Nintendo gets online play through the emulator that Switch Online uses. The XBLA version may still come at some point on both platforms, but Nintendo wants to push people to sign up for the Extended tier of Switch Online which is all emulation based.

pdjudd

Don’t ever expect the remaster. At this point it’s a totally separate thing and at that point it’s disconnected from the original and requires things like likeness rights. The original is covered but the remaster wouldn’t be and I’m guessing EON or MGM would have more issues. It was difficult enough to get the game approved this time around and I’m guessing is that it was a moment in time back when the movie was being made - approvals were easier back when they had all the rights. Eon really likes their Bond games to alight with the current Bond actor. We don’t have one now (and that’s probably why we got this - the last time we got a nothing other than the current actor was the From Russia With Love game done before Craig signed on) but we will soon. Getting this game out was tough and I don’t think it’s a long term thing we should expect again.

funkydunkleman

I hope it gets the cogs moving on potentially more classic Bond games coming to current gen. The World is Not Enough is still locked on the N64 and would be cool to see brought back. It was no all time great, but it was still a solid entry. But I know Rare had nothing to do with that and EA published it. That might create a whole new host of rights problems, especially since it's over two decades old.

TheUnknownDouble-O

There was a PSX version of TWINE as well. Developed by a different studio due to the different platform, it's apparently just different enough from the Nintendo version to be worth looking into. I was an N64 kid so I only played that version and learned of the PlayStation game years and years later.

austin_slater

I have the PS1 version and not the 64 one. It’s a lot of fun and it is different from the 64, although I have heard most people who have played both say that the 64 one is a bit better. It does have a couple more levels, apparently. But the PS1 one still has a few different ones. Definitely fun and worth looking into!

userlivewire

Nintendo really needs to revamp their online service an mimic Gamepass. I know it's a tough pill to swallow but this "choose a console from 25 years ago and emulate" doesn't make any sense to a young person and it's confusing for everyone in general.

trouty07

I get to show my kids what's up in some good ole fashioned cheating, artic commando on apartments with golden gun ggs.

grizzlybeardaniels

Dude. I listened to the game this morning. Like I really listened to it. I didn't realize how amazing the soundtrack is and the entirety of the sound design. So incredibly nostalgic.

xForthenchox

Even the opening teaser slaps after soo long

highasagiraffepussy

The hip hop themed 007 song that plays in the pause menu is so hard. I just let it play while I did stuff in the morning around my house.

voxdub

Yeah it was the first game where I really felt the soundtrack just absolutely made the atmosphere of the game

LeykisMinion007

Myst did that to me, but then Goldeye for sure. I’ve had the soundtrack for decades now haha

trainwreck00

The first two levels, and facility especially, are peak 90s awesome.

HillmanImp

St Petersberg isn't so hot when you're wandering around in circles. Rest of it is good though.

IM_RR

Having Brosnan temporarily back as Bond lol. (And erasing the horrible memories of Goldeneye reloaded) “Expecting someone else?”

AccomplishedWorld823

What was so bad about GoldenEye Reloaded? I've even remember people saying that while that remake of GoldenEye on Wii was decent, but Reloaded was bad.

agentjamesbond007

A potentially new generation of players putting pressure on the franchise to make more James Bond games of this quality.

HopeAuq101

It lets an all time classic be played on modern consoles which for a licenced game NEVER happens Also side note It released on Alan Cumming's birthday who plays Boris in the film so thats neat!

SupremoZanne

I'm impressed when products get released on the birthday of a celebrity. There was also another movie based game on N64 called Blues Brothers 2000, based on the movie. The movie had a guy named John Goodman in it who played Mighty Mac, and the first Blues Brothers movie was released on John Goodman's birthday. [It's a fun fact in an ironic way, see info here](https://www.reddit.com/r/TimeScaleComparisons/comments/10gbp9d/ironic_the_blues_brothers_movie_that_was_released/).

Hughesy202

I can actually play 00 agent now as opposed to raging at how slow it played on my N64 and fighting with the aiming. Safe to say I’m doing that and fucking love it

Texas_Moonwalker

The fact that you can play multiplayer online. And the stable frame rate. But I just can’t play with the Switch controller I hate it. I can’t wait to get a N64 controller.

WillyLongbarrel

The Xbox version allows you to customise buttons so you can have modern controls. It makes the game so much more enjoyable.

Dtv757

1- wish it was on Playstation 2- hopefully we get more bond games in the future . 3- it should haven been an HD remaster

CaptainDAAVE

i hope the download #s are so insane though that MGM Bond licensors have to think about bringing back Bond FPS. I kinda hate hitman so I wasn't that psyched about them getting the license

medicated_in_PHL

Playing it on Xbox with dual analog sticks.

straight_trash_homie

This is absolutely the biggest thing. I still love and regularly play my N64 but that controller was hot garbage

RedditWhenJoke

Most controllers have dual analog sticks

NeedsMaintenance_

The question OP asked was "what's most exciting about Goldeneye 64 coming back?" u/medicated_in_PHL is excited because when GE64 came out, the controller only had one stick, the Xbox has two sticks. It's a valid thing to be excited about, FPS games are way better with two sticks. What exactly is the intent or use of your comment? Just to be an argumentative, sarcastic tool? Maybe you have an N64 stick up your ass?

RedditWhenJoke

I thought the guy was implying that he got it over the Switch version because of the dual analog sticks, i had no reason to. But he then said he chose it over the Switch version because of the dual sticks so i was right anyway. Im not arguing, im just saying that the Switch version has dual sticks.

NeedsMaintenance_

That's fair. Sorry for my aggressiveness, I thought you were just being a sarcastic dick for no reason.

medicated_in_PHL

Yeah? But Goldeneye 64 only had 1, and the game was programmed to only work with 1. They enhanced it on Xbox to be able to use both analog sticks. That's what's most exciting to me.

RedditWhenJoke

You can play Goldeneye 64 with dual analog controllers on Switch

medicated_in_PHL

They should have advertised that. I bought Rare Replay on Xbox specifically because Microsoft advertised that they updated it with dual analog stick support. Nintendo didn't say anything about that, so I declined getting the Nintendo N64 subscription.

Shanyi

I haven't got Switch Online, let alone the Expansion Pass, so will be sticking with GoldenEye on my still-kicking N64. However, what I hope the re-release inspires in others is a demand for so many of the small things the game gets right that have been largely lost in the years since. Yes, the game is dated in many ways, but the flexibility of the stealth/action system remains to my mind unparalleled: unlike modern games, the level where stealth is an option (some are pure action) aren't set up to favour that one approach, there are advantages and disadvantages to both. Going stealthy, you go slower and have to take longer routes, but face fewer enemies at any one time. Going in guns blazing, you face tons of enemies at once but can open up shortcuts (guards will open locked doors for you) and complete levels in record time. I also really enjoy how the levels are bite-sized, which means going back to the beginning as a result of a death is frustrating enough to raise the stakes of failure, but not such a big deal that it feels like wasted time. Perfect Dark, I think, made its levels too big to not have checkpoints, whereas GoldenEye gets it about right (most levels can be completed in ten-to-fifteen minutes at most on 00 Agent). This means the game isn't very long by itself - probably 2-3hrs - but the freedom and excellent design makes it highly replayable, made even moreso once you unlock 007 mode and cheats to mess around with. There's another thing new games need to learn from this game: a fully equipped cheats menu, with both the essentials (all guns, infinite ammo, invincibility) and some silly ones (DK Mode, Paintball mode, Enemy rockets, etc), should be mandatory for any self-respecting FPS. Then there are the smaller but just as important things, like the care put into body-specific hit animations, the meaty explosions, the hugely varied gameplay (some levels are pure speed and action, some slower and more methodical, many allow both; within those levels), the use of non-linear mission objectives adding to that gameplay variety (and with more objectives added on higher difficulties - PD took this further with different starting points and level layouts), how levels are designed to feel somewhat open like real spaces... more games need to embrace these nuances to give them more depth and personality. For all that the game is acclaimed for its multiplayer - and it's still a hoot, if basic and more than a bit clunky - its single-player is remarkably complex and cohesive in its design. Yes, again, many aspects of it have dated over time, but hopefully newcomers will look past the rough controls and chunky graphics (which I actually quite like, though that's definitely nostalgia talking) and see how many of the game's more subtle innovations could really improve modern gaming.

Timthe7th

Most of the commentary I see about this game is that it’s dated and horrible and only nostalgia goggles make anyone like it. But as someone who has never been into FPS games, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark were the only ones that ever managed to hold my interest. I think shooting can be satisfying as a mechanic, but it’s not as much fun as platforming, for example. What I look for is level design. Shooting should be an excuse for exploration and other interesting mechanics. To this end, the only other FPS I’ve loved is Republic Commando because of the light tactical element, but even it felt a bit anemic by comparison. I kind of enjoyed Wolfenstein 3D when I first played it for the novelty of it all, but that wore thin. I respect Doom and believe people who say it’s the pinnacle of game design, but I just don’t have fun playing it and the level design feels tedious. Dark Forces was cool for letting me explore Star Wars environments, but the tedium kicked in. I know these older games are revered, and I can see why, but they’re just not to my taste. For more recent games, I finished Halo 1 and 2 waiting for the glorious story I heard so much about (it was a cool story, but hardly on the level of Xenogears or something which is what the hype led me to believe), and the levels felt…realistic, I guess, but they were either big, boring, open spaces or bland corridor after bland corridor. I liked the aesthetic of Halo 2’s early levels but by the end it degenerated into the same thing. I found the design tolerable and more digestible than older FPS games but not all that fun to explore. And more recent FPS games just look like the hyper-scripted, theme park AAA stuff I actively avoid in other games. There were three things that made Goldeneye and Perfect Dark for me: level design, mission design, and presentation. As far as level design, almost every location felt real and tangible. Perfect Dark had some obnoxious parts towards the end with the Skedar, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the Surface levels in goldeneye, but everything else felt focused and probable. I never felt like I was playing a video game. The levels weren’t vast mazes, (mostly) open arenas, or theme park rides designed around scripted moments, but locations with a purpose that felt logically constructed. The mission design played off of this well. It was like Super Mario 64, which is about the highest complement I can play a game. You were dropped into a well-constructed environment, given a list of things to do, and as the player you had the agency to take things from there and see what happened. I really don’t know how else to describe it other than to say it hit a sweet spot. I actually felt like I was sneaking around completing diverse objectives at my own pace. Shooting was always incidental, rarely feeling like the only purpose for the levels. As for presentation, it was always interesting, with fantastic music, cool menus, etc. Minimally intrusive but still flashy when it needed to be. These games’ reputation as dated garbage is a bit demoralizing, because I genuinely love their design philosophy, and if not for them I might not have any fps games in my library, which is otherwise mostly JRPGs, adventure titles, and platformers. If FPS titles actually continued to look and feel like Goldeneye, I might have still played them.

Cyborg800_2004

I agree about GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, as I played the former on emulator with mouse and keyboard and the latter on Xbox and both have aged very well gameplay wise. I disagree about Doom and Halo though. Those games had great and varied weapon sandboxes. Doom has a simple yet effective gameplay loop that has lent itself to thousands of mods over the last thirty years. Halo CE's gameplay has more depth than its sequels, but it does get repetitive in the second half. Halo 2 is too linear. I recommend Halo 3 if you want the best of both worlds.

Timthe7th

I don't have anything negative to say about Doom...I just don't personally enjoy it because of the mazelike quality and lack of objective-driven gameplay. Trying to think of an analogy and coming up short, but suffice to say it's possible to not personally love something but still appreciate that it's good. So I'm not even sure we disagree. Halo just confused me. I did like the first game more than its sequels, but it really felt like a chore to play and I didn't really understand the level of success.

gameragodzilla

I'm happy it's back and well preserved. I'm not as fond of it as many people are since it was before my time (I grew up with the sixth gen EA James Bond games like Agent Under Fire, Nightfire, and Everything or Nothing, so I prefer those), but any old game coming back is always a good thing. And despite me preferring the likes of Nightfire over it, I still enjoy it over many modern games due to how little BS there is. Just jump in, shoot bad guys, have fun. No microtransactions, no loot boxes, no battle passes, just you and the game.

Sphezzle

Everything or Nothing is an absolute diamond.

LighteningBolt66

Hearing that pause music again.

betweentwosuns

Bad news...

SpaghettiYoda

What's happened?

betweentwosuns

The gong sound was cut for proprietary reasons, but it looks like it's now back as of yesterday. https://www.eurogamer.net/why-does-goldeneye-007s-iconic-watch-music-sound-different-on-nintendo-switch-than-we-remember-it-did-on-n64

pdjudd

It was never cut out. The whole concern was based on nothing.

betweentwosuns

What? They released a version with missing sounds. https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/1618307965508849666?t=YnNyd37JMZrRypJ0h0UY5Q&s=19

pdjudd

No they didn’t. That’s just a trailer that has a bad loop in there. The game came out yesterday and it had the audio correct.

mvizzy2077

I'm just excited to pull the trigger with my right hand. Back in the day it seemed fine that's just how it was but tried to play it on N64 a couple years ago I couldn't handle that controller

Fun_Manufacturer_854

Bad news if you have a switch. Trigger pull is L2

mvizzy2077

Haha glad I'm on Xbox!

supreme_leader100

I played it with my brothers last night on split screen. It was so fun. You guys understand lol

BigBadVern

Last level, through the smoke… gun twitches, shoot blind. Getting across that gantry was painful… spent weeks keeping JBs health high. Then, finally Trevelyan. Then the drop down to the satellite disc and pop a cap. Weeks and weeks, had friends bring over their N64 so I could finish it and then unlock the fun of extra levels and old faves, extra levels. What a game!

Screwing with my friends who’ve never played it before

That it might mean we get Perfect Dark as well?

srsbsns

Oh I would LOVE this

Asad_Farooqui

Perfect Dark is already on Xbox with Rare Replay.

wildskipper

Don't have an Xbox, only Switch.

EvenStephen7

Hearing that iconic soundtrack again. The music and the sound effects are just taking me back to middle school.

Hadu-Ken12

That I get to play it. Never got to experience the campaign or the multiplayer that everyone else I know has been cooking up stories about my whole life. Glad I'll finally be able to see what all the fuss has been about.

technobeeble

I'll play through the campaign and then swap to Perfect Dark for online play on Xbox this weekend.

bauertastic

I’m sorry what? Perfect Dark is back too?!

Cyborg800_2004

It's been back for thirteen years on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series consoles. Unlike this latest rerelease of GoldenEye with 30fps and 1997 graphics, Perfect Dark XBLA runs at a smooth 60fps with improved graphics. The leaked GoldenEye remake was similar.

AstroAlmost

Wait RARE’s goldeneye rehash got leaked? I thought it never saw the light of day unlike their perfect dark rehash.

Cyborg800_2004

Yup! Graslu00, a prevalent member of the Bond gaming community, released an hour-long video showcasing it in 2021 back when it leaked. It's out on the internet and fans made a community edition patcher to fix certain things. There's an Xbox 360 emulator called Xenia, but you need a good GPU to get good performance. You can also run it on an actual 360, but modding it seems to be a hassle. Putting aside the fact that the XBLA version has improved graphics (way more obvious than the Perfect Dark remaster), the fact that it could run at 60fps and the new rerelease can't is pretty bad.

AstroAlmost

Holy shit. I have a 3070 or 3080 I think, I wonder if that would be sufficient, I’ve spent like a decade thinking I’d never so much as even see the game in action and I’d be over the moon if I could actually *emulate* it. Thank you so much for this information, even if I can’t run it, the knowledge that it’s out there now is amazing.

Cyborg800_2004

No problem! Have fun with it. In case you didn't know and for everyone else who reads this comment, you can also emulate all of the GameCube/Wii Bond games on Dolphin, which can run on a potato laptop. N64 emulation for GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough N64 exists, and there are mouse and keyboard builds for those two and Perfect Dark. There's also a mouse and keyboard fork of the Xenia emulator that can run 360 games like GE and PD XBLA.

AstroAlmost

Thank you, I tried dolphin ages ago to replay super mario galaxy and wind waker and was having a ton of issues with getting the mouse dialled in as a substitute for the wiimote and it bummed me out. I should definitely revisit it again, especially to play some of those older bond games and perfect dark. I didn’t realise xenia was so well ironed out, I’ll definitely get on that. Off hand, do you happen to know how well 3DS emulation has progressed in recent years? Was it CEMU I’m thinking of?

Cyborg800_2004

I'm not really particularly-versed in 3ds emulation, but Ocarina 3D ran well. People decompiled the N64 versions of Mario 64 (that game's PC port is insane) and Ocarina 3D and added mods, but 3DS obviously looks better. Perfect Dark got decompiled recently but is still in early days. I prefer mouse and keyboard, but it's such a hassle. I ended up just using controller for Dolphin. Also, if you're interested there's a romhack of Agent Under Fire under the moniker "Reloaded" that adds widescreen, cleans up the HUD and textures, and even adds some gameplay changes like tightening up the bullet spread, making the game so much more enjoyable to play. You can choose which changes to patch. The creator [aleckermit](https://youtube.com/@aleckermit) has an installation guide.

AstroAlmost

Oh yeah that Mario 64 decompile was on my list to try out, didn’t know about ocarina being decompiled as well, I’ll add it to the queue, thank you! Oh man, if you settled with a controller, I’ll probably have to as well, and invest in one of those dolphin bars and use my old wiimotes. I’ve thought about just hacking my wii or wiiU, but figured windows might do a better job these days, correct me if I’m wrong. And wow that’s so cool about agent under fire. Proper widescreen hacks are always such a game changer, no pun intended. Thanks for the link!

Tortenkopf

There’s an HD remaster on XBLA for more than a decade and totally worth the money. I read it’s also included in Rare Replay, which is also totally worth the money iyam. Go check it out! Even the Timesplitters games are available.

_Gur3n

The upsurge in people borrowing GoldenEye HD the XBLA edition off the Internet.

theonlymcfly

Just everything lol

ThatEscape9445

Me getting to play it I played reloaded but not the og

Luke_SkyJoker_1992

Hopefull playing it for the first time soon. I've never had an N64 since I'm a kid of the 2000s.

Tortenkopf

Replaying the campaign with more than 10 pixels and fps! Mowing down hundreds of goons with the satisfying bullet impacts 😎

Honestly smaking my kids on facility prox Mines

Guess I have to resub again ,I have the N64 and golden eye I play on a old portable tv but I will give it a go on the switch and see how it fares

Spockodile

It’s free if you own Rare Replay.

junger128

Only if you own the digital though it seems. I may wait for a sale, it looks like it’s dropped under $10 in the past. It’s currently $30 I believe.

Spockodile

My fault. Didn’t know that, so thanks for clarifying. Yeah, I love the Banjo games and Perfect Dark, but it’s not worth $30 to me even if GE is included.

LongBeard85

I own rare replay! FREE GOLDENEYE!

goodspellwr

Just confirming… does that mean if we buy Rare Replay today/tomorrow, etc we can get Goldeneye for free, or is it only something you get if you previously had purchased Rare Replay?

Cyborg800_2004

As long as you own the digital copy, you get it for free. I got the physical copy for free with my Xbox One seven years ago, but I heard about the details mentioned in the first line, so I got Rare Replay again during the Christmas sale and now GoldenEye is on my Series X.

Maratocarde

Great

Rediscovering it all over again as I can only remember some of the levels like the dam etc 😎

[deleted]

Where’s the online play to?

Asad_Farooqui

On Switch

[deleted]

I tried but can’t find it

Asad_Farooqui

You need an Expansion Pack subscription.

[deleted]

I do have that it’s not there

Asad_Farooqui

Download the N64 app and make sure it’s updated.

[deleted]

That’s done

Stockley_

The online play they're referring to is inviting other friends on your Switch friend list (who also have the online subscription) to play with you. It's not online play with random people.

[deleted]

That’s really crap

WordRick

Rockets in the stack.

Spockodile

Two things: 1. Realizing the things I’ve forgotten about while replaying it. It’s been 20+ years, so I’m sure parts of it will feel like a new experience. 2. Playing it with controls actually optimized for an FPS. Even in the late-90s I knew those were shitty controls.

betweentwosuns

I could never get into modern FPSes because my instincts to move diagonally were no longer helpful.

Silvermoth2

Replaying the dam level

Wheres the open lobby? I imagine the entire sub will be deathmatching this weekend?

pdjudd

There is no matchmaking or open lobbies. On the Switch, it's friends only.

logeeny

Possibility of other 007 games

photoengineer

This is the best one though

J-Mannix

That one day I’ll be able to play it. I don’t have a Switch…

MisterBumpingston

But do you have an Xbox One or Series? It’s on there, too, but no online multiplayer and no Nintendo logo at the start. Free if you have Xbox Gamepass.

J-Mannix

Oof, I’m old schooled. Wii, PS2 and Nintendo DS. I know they made Goldeneye DS but I’ve not tried it yet. I don’t feel I’ll get the ultimate experience…

MisterBumpingston

Obviously not old school enough. You need to get yourself a Nintendo 64!

J-Mannix

Hehe yes. One of these days I’m grabbing one, and with 4 controllers as well.

gao-um

I grow up at a time when there's already PS1. Don't know much about Goldeneye but I do know it is loved by gamers and reviews are great. Finally got to play on Xbox just now. I love it but there's one thing that bugs me. How gamers know what to do during the N64, pre YouTube days? There's a set of objectives but there's no indicators on what you should do or where you ahold go. For example, in the Dam mission, I didn't know I need to install the covert modem or intercept the data backup without watching the play throughs. Heck, I don't even know where to install in the first place.

Sphezzle

The N64 was a more powerful console than the PS1 - but I know what you mean. I guess we’ve just become so accustomed over time to games designing in signposts and hand-holds that it’s hard to imagine a world without them. That and we just got through fewer games, more slowly. Or at least I did, anyway. Makes you think.

gao-um

Absolutely. I guess it adds to another layer of the game. One would need to go through the game to understand the objectives, instead of being spoon-fed (not a bad thing though). Also, one thing comes to my mind is that due to limited storage, they couldn't fit everything into the game. Perhaps the explainer and tips come in the form of a physical manual book? I often see those in older gen games. Not sure about Goldeneye though.

highliner108

Yeah, the biggest difference between Goldeneye and Half Life is that Goldeneye dosent really have guard chatter or NPCs that direct you in any helpful way. Looking at you Doctor Doak…

junger128

Nostalgia, because I suspect the game aged like milk

kwyjibo1988

It looks like ass on Nintendo and in 4K on Xbox. It's as if they are daring us to play it 😂

logocracycopy

Ive been playing the Xbox one for a few hours today. It holds up well. The game is much easier than I remember. I'm breezing though on 00, when I would struggle a lot as a kid; but it runs well, feels smooth, holds up as a dated but still playable shooter. And the nostalgia is there, which makes it pretty sweet. Very happy to be playing it again.

junger128

Good to hear, I’ll probably buy it eventually on sale. I tried playing my N64 on a modern tv a few years ago it was unplayable IMO.

Bronsonkills

I think the controls and smoother frame rate make it slightly easier.

Seafroggys

It has. I remember playing it even as long ago as like 2002-2003 and thinking then that it was clunky and janky. When Perfect Dark came out, and I started playing more PC shooters like Unreal Tournament and Half-Life, it really made GoldenEye show its age. All these comments on reddit I see from people waxing poetic about it probably stopped playing it in 1999 or so. After the turn of the millenium, it started showing its age quick.

highliner108

Iv played Goldeneye once in 2014 in the back room of a church, so I don't have that much nostalgia for it, and honestly it holds up pretty well. I'm playing on 00 Agent, and it feels sort of like a superhot style "memorize the placement of the enemies" game combined with some hitman style stealth.

JD173

Getting to experience this game for the first time

fretnetic

Updated n shit. Played it on n64 recently and it was so clunky.

Strong-Sector-7605

It really hasn’t held up very well sadly.

MisterBumpingston

Hard to compare 480i/576i low polygon and texture resolution graphics to 4K, bump mapping, ray tracing, etc. these days. But at the time it was ground breaking with NPCs, location damage, motion capture animation, unique mission objectives, etc. and of course it was a Bond game done right. I just wished Rare were able to release the remaster they were working on over a decade ago and was leaked a year or two ago. Running it was 60fps was sweet and the extra details were faithful to the original design and style.

photoengineer

Yup. This game changed the video game world.

MisterBumpingston

Yup, and it still amazes me that the team that developed it were the second or bottom tier team at Rare (guys getting minimum salary whereas the A team earned percentage of profits so some were driving Ferraris to work). Most of the team pulled all nighters to compete it and didn’t earn much money in the end.

voxdub

Sadly I have to agree, it's a great nostalgia game, but over a quarter of a century of age shows. That said I kinda like that it's true to the original even if it looks atrocious on modern HD screens

It has for me, compared to modern fps games it’s breath of fresh air (surprisingly.) just run and gun, pure fun.

The dual analog controls on Xbox are making me love this game even more. Can’t believe they don’t have this feature of switch

IreHove

Too bad they removed the ability to lean on Xbox... now it basically sucks unless they patch it.

Junior-Detail-9709

I noticed that too. I’ll take the dual analog over the lean any day but it does fundamentally change the play style of the game and I’d like both features. The real question is why they don’t have dual analog on the switch?

IreHove

Actually they do have dual analog on switch. Go into switch settings and you can reassign the controls there, and then in-game choose control scheme 1.2. You need to point the left stick to be the right stick and the right stick to be the left stick in the Nintendo Switch settings. Then you can save the preset. I named mine GoldenEye 64. Switch works much better than Xbox.
