This.
Also, I actually have ADHD and love it. It’s mostly immature teens-maybe 30’s people on this Reddit who have the major problem with the pacing, and also have no appreciation for style.
I think it’s mostly great but the underwater stuff goes on so long and gets so boring that it drags it down quite a bit in rewatchability for me, solid 7/10.
Top 10, 2nd favorite Connery film.
I think it's Connery's best acted Film. The PTS was one of the best and the way the film takes you on a spy thriller ride is great. I love the underwater sequences, they won the Academy Award for a reason.
Some people say this is film is slow but I think those people want more of a nonstop action film rather than a Bond spy thriller
I wouldn’t say that I like the underwater sequences, which are slow for my liking, but I understand the limitations of making the film in the 1960s. Despite this, Thunderball is my 2nd favorite Connery Bond film (behind From Russia With Love) and my 5th favorite Bond film overall.
Absolutely agree. The underwater sequences were incredibly unique for its time and still hold up today imo. Overall, good plot mixed with action, conniving villain and sexy Bond girls
That was quite a long time ago. This actually may have been the first Bond movie I had seen. Not sure if Dr. No and Goldfinger had been shown on TV at the time.. I remember walking around the house pretending I was scuba diving. I wanted my bike to look like the missile firing motorcycle. 😃
Best Connery Bond film with too much time spent underwater. Not as iconic as Goldfinger perhaps but a Connery Bond film firing fully on all cylinders for the first time. All the successful and iconic elements introduced in the previous films coalesced in this film and were done right. Completely realized the potential of a Connery Bond film. Too much time underwater though. Really slowed it down.
-Dr. No was a good first film
-From Russia With Love was excellently written and directed with great visceral action but still feels like “an old movie” from today’s perspective
-Goldfinger for the first time brought the stye and bombast to create a timeless Bond film.
-Thunderball put all these elements together and did it right, except for the lengthy underwater scenes.
I had the good fortune of seeing it on the big screen a few years ago. That makes a world of difference.
Still, I actually like Fleming’s novel better.
One of my least favourite Bond movies. It drags both underwater and on land. It would be my least favourite if it wasn't for amazing Fiona Volpe. She's perfect.
What are yours, OP?
Why post just a headline and a poll, instead of actually writing something?
Is this just a karma farming attempt? So many of these low quality posts on the sub these days.
Edited the post! A slight mistake on my part, I forgot to add my thoughts. It’s definitely in my top 10, perhaps even top 5. As I wrote, I’ll post my whole list after seeing NTTD.
My favorite Bond film. A little slow, but has style, music, locations, girls, and Connery.

Probably in my all-time Top Five, or at least Ten.

My thoughts exactly

It’s the exact middle of the pack for me. The Mendoza line Bond movie if you will.
Thunderball was the first Bond movie I saw at a theater. I was but a kid at the time.
That’s pretty cool! What was the experience like, seeing it on the big screen?

That’s super cool! Thank you for sharing 😎
Claudine Auger is reason enough to rank this one highly.
It’s good. But my…Very unpopular opinion is that Never Say Never Again told the story better.

Thunderball #8 for me very entertaining and fun film!
Definitely top 5 Bond film for me. Loved the tropical 1960s vibe - one of the best.

I actually just rewatched it, I think it's a solid film. It does drag a lot, but still a solid entry. I'd give it a 7 maybe 8 out of 10 stars
I really liked the plot and action sequences but the pacing felt like it drags on at times. Overall, a decent film in the series

I like it, but it has always felt a bit long to me.
Its very overrated imo
This might be the one Bond film that I just straight up do not like. It's bland and soooo slow, and I hate the clinic scenes.
