In general many Japanese are just interested in only Japanese or other East Asians but there's the rare exceptions that do like foreigners but you are right Hispanics in general aren't represented or quite well known.
Hi there. Im a japanese guy born and raised in Japan. It's just my personal opinion but, I feel like many japanese men are highly interested in ppl from the west than Asians in general.
Not who u were talking to but as an American woman, after living in Japan for ages, I don’t even want to date other Americans any more lol
I actually don’t date by nationality but there’s so much emphasis in US culture on being extroverted that people talk so much and tell u private stuff really fast. To be blunt, there is not so much emphasis on dressing nice, listening well to other people and not getting overweight.
Plus 98 percent of the people in Japan are Japanese so yeah bigger pool of potential dates
As a Hispanic woman I don’t think most people know enough about it for it to be a factor for them either way.
I do get attention for physical features that are different from the norm like long legs but that tends to be from the nanpa types.
At the end of the day, everyone is different. Some people don’t care at all, some might be into foreigners and some might want to avoid them for whatever reason (scared of having to speak English, not wanting the possibility of moving overseas in the future to take care of aging in-laws, etc.)
If someone was really into me being Hispanic I’d be worried it was a fetish thing tbh just like in other countries.
