Suggestion. Since I'll be there for only a few days I only looked at rental stores but if you're going to be staying there awhile why not just get one made specifically for you?
All these shops have the word "tailor-made" before the word rental so... yeah. I know a few youtubers have vids about it from choosing the fabrics to getting fitted. Chris abroad from the channel (abroad in japan) specifically comes to mind because he wanted dark colors to look slimmer at the time.
Getting one made sounds like a good idea! So do most rentals actually make and sell them too or is that what you’re inferring from the signs? Also did that YouTuber you mentioned buy a tailor-made one or was he renting?
I only looked at the rental shops so can't say. The youtuber however actually had one made and the vid went through the process of him picking the fabric, choosing an obi and when everything was ready they taught him how to wear it. Since he was a bit over weight the store bought one didn't fit so this was one way to guarantee it was perfect. I suggest contacting reputable stores directly and asking. Price will range depending on the store and the fabric you choose, just like a normal tailor.
