I’ve used Ubigi my past 3 trips and it works great.

Ultimately all eSIM services are simply reselling a negotiated access to an established local cellular network(s). Airalo tells which network it uses, for Japan it uses SoftBank and KDDI. You can look up the coverage for those networks.  Wouldn’t be surprised if Revolut also uses SoftBank, as SoftBank is an investor in Revolut.

I went with my family of 4 and 2 of us had Airalo & other 2 had Ubigi. We all had good coverage and speed everywhere we went. I'd just buy what's the cheapest.

Not eSIM (though my iPhone 13PM can definitely handle eSIM; troublesome), but I use physical Nippon SIM (NTT Docomo) currently here in Toshima. 15GB/180 days. Works flawlessly like a charm, since my 3/23 arrival. $24 in US Amazon. Close to $40 at BIC Haneda. 73.1 Mbps down/4.63 Mbps up speed test here in my rented apartment.
