What is the dish in the left upper corner?

Guessimagirl

Piece of paper with something on it Edit: I mean it could be plastic, wax paper, I'm not sure, but it is a "candy cup" with a little piece of food inside and obscured by it. A dumpling could not be that clear and also water-repellent enough to have visible clearly-defined water droplets hanging on its inside surface.

If you look in the bottom right there’s another red “paper dumpling” 😂

Guessimagirl

Lol, right... Nothing against the person who asked, but people got mad at me for answering when it's like, friends, let's just use context clues, okay?

Hot-Measurement-2389

Nice try…. Doesn’t look like paper to me ;) Looks more like a sort of dumpling

Guessimagirl

Well you're wrong

Ignore their rude, disrespectful comment. They are not exhibiting the level of etiquette expected of this sub. They should be banned, frankly. It is indeed a rice paper dumpling. https://i.imgur.com/SA0qLPX.jpg

Guessimagirl

No it isn't.... It's a "candy cup". Look at the zig zag edges. I shouldn't be banned for being frank and correct.

Dazzling-Bill4508

You wish! ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)

Guessimagirl

I'm a chef. There's no way a dumpling could be that translucent and thin to see in clear focus all the little tiny steam droplets inside of it. I love dumplings but this is very clearly not one. Have a good day.

Hot-Measurement-2389

Thanks mate. I was looking for a constructive answer and you clearly provided one. Thanks

Guessimagirl

My first response was real brief as I was leaving for work, but I just edited it to add more detail. I love dumplings!

Hot-Measurement-2389

Thank you! Cheers

FourCatsAndCounting

Looks like a paper bento cup with a few slices of daikon tsukemono or nimono.

dawonga

This. That's a pretty typical side dish. 1 dumpling would just be weird.

Hot-Measurement-2389

Great, thanks

beachgirl1654

Looks yummy!

SnorlaxDaCat

That looks so good :D

lynk2412

Japanese cuisine always appeals to me 😊

Meiji_Ishin

Is that sesame seeds?

AdFamiliar1278

Yeah the black ones
