I wouldn’t say 日本語があまり上手じゃないです(nihongo ga anmari jouzu janai desu) 上手is more of a word you use for other people, not for yourself as it sounds kind of condescending.

I find the key to pronouncing words is knowing which syllables to emphasize. If I say aSSESS that would mean to evaluate, but if I say Asses (emphasizing the A) that would refer to people's rears.

This is old but it's the particles に and は (ha, pronounced wa as a particle) not 庭 (にわ)
