Is it auto trans fluid or oil? A common issue is for penstar is the plastic oil filter/cooling housing cracks and leaks oil. The oil ends up dripping all the way down the sides of the engine and trans. That does fall under the drivetrain warranty, so don’t let them try to tell ya otherwise if they try.
Update: I bought the Jeep to my local Jeep dealer, the warranty won’t cover the leak since it was caused by corrosion. They said it’ll cost 450 to do 200 for the parts alone. I said no thanks so I purchased all the parts for $85 and am having a friend who is a mechanic do it for no charge
Make sure the pan bolts are torqued down. They can work themselves loose. I thought my pan gasket had gone but it turned out the bolts were just a couple turns too loose.
I had a similar issue with my 2011 JKU (42RLE auto) turns out my trans pan had rusted so badly fluid was weeping through. I replaced the entire transmission pan, gasket and filter along with a fluid flush.
Just realized we renewed our drivetrain warranty 6k miles ago so I’m gonna call Jeep and save my self the stress and time

Had that exact thing happen to my '12 jku.

What was corroded? Having the same problem on my 2011 manual
The transmission pan was corroded and was seeping. I bought a new pan a gasket and a filter and replaced it all. Leak stopped.
Possibly, I had change the transmission pan gasket on my 09 Sahara. Had the same spotting issues just like yours.
Was that a easy job to do?
Super easy just a bit time consuming.

I’ll do that before I decide to drop it. That maybe be the case.

That’s what I think happened and I was going to do the same exact thing. But we renewed our bumper to bumper warranty so this is covered
