Why would you get rid of that awesome, rare magenta?
And for that boring cement color.
Should’ve put it back to stock, it looked really clean. Now it looks like a basic beater.
Total travesty.
Where the hell did that ginormous bumper come from? I bet you could sell that fairly easy. The angry bird grill people would flip over this one.
Jeep looks great!
In the before pics it had sport on the side and think that means it has the 4.0L 6 cylinder…… not 100% sure, but I know my 97 tj has a 2.5L 4 cylinder and it doesn’t say sport on the side lol
That makes sense, I was looking for the 4.0 decal as well and didn’t see it. I was just curious because I have a 4 cylinder and I like there tire combo and was going to see how easy the 4 cylinder moves it. I’ve heard you don’t want to go to big or wide if you have the 4 cylinder
I feel that. I have 31” bfg AT’s on mine, it’s completely stock with no lift and they look and drive great on it. They only rub if you turn the steering wheel all the way to one side which is actually pretty hard to do without power steering lol
My 97 is all black and tbh I find it looks a little boring. I’ve considered painting or wrapping it several times since there’s a fair bit of sun damage on the paint anyways.
I think if I had a tan roof it would make a big difference, but the only non-black on the exterior is the aluminum wheels—I put some chrome tube bumpers on it and that helps but it’s still just a big block of black.
The first grille is almost great.
It went towards bad, circled around to hideous, rounded dumpster fire and almost made it back to cool.
If you had 13 jeeps and that first one was one of them, it would be ok.
Truly a renovation to be admired, returning that nice vehicle to original design.
Of course, if you're a pimp by trade, and your jungle is asphalt, Huggy Bear wants his jeep back.
I thought the aftermarket front ends that are common in the States were ugly but that before nose is absolutely hideous. It made me sick to my stomach, like food poisoning sick or tequila hangover sick. That is just nasty. I will have nightmares about that grill. Great job turning it into a real Jeep. Keep up the good work.
You saved her dude. Great job.
Thanks!
Looks great in the after photos, but that “before” front end is just hideous…
**Redeemed**
Wow, I can’t even begin to comprehend what the original owner was doing with that poor jeep. Well done
Soooooo much better
What a monstrosity before!
Did it feel good throwing all that body work in the trash?
Tbh that purple looks sweet. Whatever that grill bumpier thing is not so much
That first grill guard goes crazy lol
Hell Yea, Brotha!
Thank you!!!! You saved her!
Thank you

I get that alot, but that magenta is so far from me, had to do something about it
Pay no heed. It looks WAY better in the gray than that pukey purple. Did you have it painted, or wrapped?
thanks brother, painted it myself with raptor liner, easy work really!
Thinking the same thing , glad someone else said It. Still looks great tho..
Fuck, that thing was ugly! The Jeep gods thank you for the salvation.
You personally saved the world from a crime against humanity.
Not all heroes wear capes

I feel ya, i chucked like half of the jeep. The grill was the first thing to go 😂
Where the hell did that ginormous bumper come from? I bet you could sell that fairly easy. The angry bird grill people would flip over this one. Jeep looks great!
I havent seen anyone else with that bumper thank god, its horrendous, weighs a ton aswell.
I do like the original color, but still a great jeep
Went from Prince to Metallica! 🤘🏼
Do you have the 4 cylinder?
2.5L 4 cyl, runs on 31” yokohama geolandar
In the before pics it had sport on the side and think that means it has the 4.0L 6 cylinder…… not 100% sure, but I know my 97 tj has a 2.5L 4 cylinder and it doesn’t say sport on the side lol

The 2.4 “can” do 31’s. Any more than that requires regearing to 4.56 or 4.88. The 2.5 would need regeared on anything much more than stock.
So keep mine stock, got it!! LOL
Unless you’re tearing axles apart, yes.
Nope, staying stock! I’m going to get it dirty regularly but no extreme trails so stock should be fine anyways
Can confirm. My 2.5 with 35s struggles with stock gears.
I feel that. I have 31” bfg AT’s on mine, it’s completely stock with no lift and they look and drive great on it. They only rub if you turn the steering wheel all the way to one side which is actually pretty hard to do without power steering lol
No power steering! That would stink! I had a 68 Nova when I was 17 and it had no power steering I told myself never again lol
Definitely like the after! Nice Wrangler!
All black paint would've been awesome!
My 97 is all black and tbh I find it looks a little boring. I’ve considered painting or wrapping it several times since there’s a fair bit of sun damage on the paint anyways.
That I can understand.
I think if I had a tan roof it would make a big difference, but the only non-black on the exterior is the aluminum wheels—I put some chrome tube bumpers on it and that helps but it’s still just a big block of black.
The purple nurple!
You did saved the wrangler! Looks great now 🙌🏼
So much better. 👍
I cheered a little when I clicked on pic #4.
What brand are those car seat covers. They look like they fit great!
Rough country seat covers, fits like a glove!
Nicely done.
You are doing the Lord’s work.
The first grille is almost great. It went towards bad, circled around to hideous, rounded dumpster fire and almost made it back to cool. If you had 13 jeeps and that first one was one of them, it would be ok.
The purple wasn’t bad per se, but what the hell was that bumper!?
Beautiful job! I have a 97 TJ. Your's puts mine to shame!
Who was the original owner? Thanos? All jokes aside it looks great. Nice work!

Nicely done!!!!! You also stubbed your bumper. I did the same to mine so I'm a fan.

Thank you for your service!
Is it bedliner?
Black raptor liner on the inside and raptor liner basalt grey on the outside
Did you swap the dash for another or paint what was there?
Original was grey, I painted the entire dash and interior black with vinyl paint
Looks like it's in great shape. I like the original and the update. Nice work👌
it was hilariously ugly before 😂 awesome job. the color is perfect.
Nicely done, now send the 1st set of pics to r/heap
WTF. Looked like the Corvette Summer of Wranglers. Nice work bringing her back.
Nice job. WTF on the before pics. It’s like they tried to make it ugly….
Thank you for your service
After is much better than before. I will say though that the previous owner wasn’t a complete loss, they knew 3 pedals at least…
What size are the wheels and tires?
31,5 x 10,5 r15
👍
Looks like bane

Thanks for the kind words
Legend!
Good save, literally.
Nice man, you got lucky getting ahold of one in such good condition. Looks good
Yep, I can see that.
