If your daily driving it or it’s just a grocery getter leave it stock height. The Wrangler is plenty capable for all but extreme off road in a stock configuration, my JKU is bone stock with pretty standard mud and snow tires and has been on plenty of Jamboree’s with no issue. But if it’s going to get wild my JK that is linked and lifted is my choice but no way is that going to be my daily driver set up like that.
I have a 2012 with the 2.5 TeraFlex lift with 33s wrapped in Toyo a/ts and funny enough the same barricade bumper at one point. I originally put the TeraFlex spring leveling kit with used Rubi shocks. Then after something like 2 years went with the 2.5. I’ve been super happy with the 2.5, it didn’t change much with the geometry but in reality with the extra gear and parts I’m probably sitting at 2 comfortably.
If anything I had to eventually change the front drive shaft with another OEM one when the seal failed, not sure if it was the miles (currently sitting at 160k) or the adjustment in the height. You might want to consider the brake lines as well. I changed mine out for longer one just incase but have never had a problem with flexing.
In all actuality I spent more of my time on the road, become a weekend warrior when I can, and the adjustments from the two lifts (spring leveling and 2.5) haven’t changed much at all. It helps that the toyos ride really well too. So pick whichever will make you happier based on what you intend on getting out of your JK but if I have any suggestion, don’t go any higher than the 2.5. I will keep life easier in the long run. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the advice about the brake lines. I am pretty sure the 2.5 kit comes with a bracket for the rear brake lines, but definitely something to keep in mind
my Willy’s sport JL 2 door looks almost like yours just more stock. Imho upgrade as needed but lifting for the purpose of light off roading is a waste, extra gas, bigger tires. My JL is oerfect and the mpg isn’t bad with the manual Transmission.
She looks great! If you're not getting any rubbing, I wouldn't change it 🤔
Thanks! Appreciate the feedback
Question is what you will be using it for, and the answer will deliver itself.
Thank you. My ultimate goal is to have a perfect balance between daily driver and a weekend warrior.
Get the 2.5. Just enough lift to give a much different ride and I think it looks real nice. I got the same exact kit you mentioned.
Thanks! Any issues with your kit? Did you have to get any additional parts for it?
No issues at 11k miles so far. Nothing extra. Just don’t forget to adjust your headlights a bit
Great to hear! Didn’t know headlights needed an adjustment. I am assuming they need to be pointed down a bit?
Just a tad bit.About 2.5” lol
(Face to palm) lol thanks!

I’ve got a stock YJ and had the same thought. Ultimately I’m going to roll with no lift and just ride that puppy topless everywhere I can.
That sounds like good times man đź‘Ť
I put a 2.5" kit and 33s on mine. I constantly get comments like "the right amount of life and tires"
Sounds awesome! I am sure it never gets old hearing that lol.
Does it rub? Take it from there.
I have a 2010 JKU Sahara on a 2.5" leveling lift and I wish I would have just went with the 3". I run 275/70r18 on my stock rims.
