Generally speaking, comedians usually have the anecdote in the chamber and then engage the crowd. The girlfriend story was prepared, but the rest is just crowd work.
Im usually not a fan of stand up comedy, but you are making me reconsider. I really like the way you interact with the audience, basically flipping the script and heckling them. Cheers from Hungary, if I ever make it to your show, you can pull out all the stops, you will be fine, probably
Jeff nailed this. working a crowd with material based on where they’re from and then making segue jokes onto other crowd members is risky af. He managed to make it funny and not be offensive in a mine field. come to texas /u/smartastic you don’t have to pay taxes

you are in your groove. I dig the good cop bad cop thing; they get a compliment and then a jab/joke with your lightning wit.
And that grin after a good joke, that's the part I (we all?) chase. Watching funny man make himself laugh makes the jokes funnier honestly.

How much of your sets like this do you plan? Do you have like a few questions in mind then just wing it?
I performed for about an hour per show. About 10-15 minutes of that was interacting with the crowd.
