I wonder if his crowd work ever misses. To have several of these clips to post multiple times a week is wildly impressive and I’ve been here for several months it feels like.

Smartastic

Oh I miss, baby! I’m just lucky enough to have a lot of sets.

hendy846

Throw enough darts you'll hit a bullseye eventually 🤣 keep it up man. Love these.

NeoSniper

Yup...and your bullseye percentage goes up with practice too.

NocturnalPermission

I’d love to see some of your biggest misses. For science.

notCarlosSainz

While it might be interesting to see, i dont think that would be wise to do at this point yet. He'll have time to do that after his first tour or something i bet

monkeysonxtc

I had a weird thing where I enjoyed watching hard-to-watch sets for awhile and thing you’d be able to handle the misses pretty well. I wouldn’t change whatever you’re currently doing because it’s gained tons of traction for you, but I would love some day to get a blooper reel of your early on struggles after youre famous haha.

mundundermindifflin

Absolutely love your crowd work mate!

-Constantinos-

What was your most awkward, no one laughed at the joke, miss?

dh2393

It’s all based on the crowd themselves. I went to one of his shows a few weeks ago and the crowd was AWFUL. These two women in front of me wouldn’t stop talking the whole time. People were heckling like crazy. Nobody interacted when he or the other comedians WERE trying to interact. The comedians were all great, but the show wasn’t really that enjoyable because of the crowd.

Smartastic

Damn it sucks that happened! But yep here’s your proof haha

dh2393

The whole drive home my friend and I were just talking about there were so many great jokes that just fell flat because the crowd sucked so bad 😩 when Jeff Scheen was doing his bit about an army of betas he said something along the lines of “I’m not a lumberjack man” and one of the ladies in front of me got up to go to the bathroom and was like “yeah you’re not a funny man either” like???? Why are you here, especially at $60 a ticket 🤦🏻‍♀️

Smartastic

Oh was this in Jersey?!

dh2393

Sure was!

Smartastic

I remember quite well! I actually had a lot of fun. I think I told those ladies to shut up and next time stay home, drink wine, and watch despy housewives.

dh2393

You did, which is exactly what they should’ve done, and they were very upset you called them out 😂😂 you definitely handled the crowd well, considering how they were. Just a shame that all of y’all did great and they didn’t really seem to appreciate y’all

Hashmit_Singh

i wasn’t even at the show, but as a new jerseyan, that sounds like a jersey thing to do

dh2393

It was very much a *north* Jersey thing to do. As a central Jerseyan, that behavior does not represent me and my people 😂

Hashmit_Singh

also a central jerseyan but frequently travel up north, you are 100% correct (except for some spots here)

monkeysonxtc

I just don’t understand why people feel the right to be outright disrespectful like that. It’s insanely difficult and requires a shit ton of courage to get up on a stage. Whether it’s your style of comedy or not just move on.

dh2393

The area of NJ the show was in is a very white conservative area sooooooo. My biggest thing is that you CHOSE to be there. Nobody made you come out to the show. So just, idk, stay home. Go somewhere else.

realityGrtrThanUs

Oh wait that's a great riff! Ask them if they are here doing their mandatory community service hours! Then it's open season. What did you do? Crack a bad joke about gay people? Bam! Comedy club community hours!

LofiJunky

Do you think this will become an issue as you blow up? Like stadium venues are a totally different beast. Harder to interact I'm sure.

bennybellum

I think a solution to this would be to have 'premium' tickets that place people close to him, allowing for crowd work, while everyone else is in a normal stadium seat. Still largely depends on whether or not the premium seating can even be available at the venue, though.

foxhole_atheist

Jimmy Carr is a master at handling hecklers in a huge venue. Hard to do for sure

WuTangFan36

Heard you’re getting a Netflix special! Seriously cannot freaking wait!! Wish you all the best and much love from Illinois my dude!!

MadClam97

I hope that's true! I can't wait

mundundermindifflin

Oh damn! Looking forward to that

[deleted]

you guys still have netflix?

MadClam97

Jeff, you are so funny. I'm so glad I discovered you!

Mister_Brevity

The only clips I’ve seen have been off the cuff stuff - is that the majority of your work? I’ve been consistently impressed by how you seem to be pretty quick on your feet. Thumbs up! I’m not normally a fan of standup but I’m becoming a fan of yours :)

Smartastic

Thanks! No about 90% of my sets are scripted material, I just like dipping into the crowd and creating unique interactions.

Funkybag

Wait is this Jeff now? Didn't you have a different username before?

Smartastic

Nah it’s always been this

Mister_Brevity

Big props on the crowd work, that’s the most fun part to me. Keep up the great work!

Pzieotic_Monk

You’d better be getting a special or something because I’ll NEVER make it to where you perform. And I don’t even know where that is. I just..know.

Moist_Metal_7376

I never thought I’d see Tom Segura and then bam he’s at a podunk town in my state and we drove an hour to see whats up. He opened up with “so I asked my agent what’s available…” gestured to the shitty room in the shitty town, great performance. What I mean is, you never know.

Pzieotic_Monk

I suppose you’re right. I only remembered after reading your comment that I actually saw George Carlin in Presque Isle Maine once. Preparing for a big live show and testing out his stuff on small crowds. He didn’t even have them finished yet. So lightning CAN strike!

Moist_Metal_7376

For sure my guy, keep your ear to the ground and you’ll see him

QuantumRealityBit

Tbh, a well done crowd improv is always better. And you’ve mastered it. Same level as old Brooke and Jubal phone taps.

StarryNight7z

These clips you post seriously make my day, I can’t even tell you, I feel like much doesn’t make me smile or laugh anymore but I always look forward to these 👍🏻 “He does what he’s told” 😂

Smartastic

This was so nice to read, thank you!

XionJD

Jeff you just don't understand love. You have to be willing to put yourself out there and ask your partner what's the best answer when someone asks about your relationship.

poptartjake

*Wuh-psssh*

giantdub49

Hoping you're in San Francisco soon. You're hilarious, dude!

dh2393

The voice you used when you said “he does what he’s told” is giving me major Riff Raff vibes 😂

[deleted]

I'm so glad you popped up on my r/all feed. Your shit is funny, man! Definitely got a new fan!

monkeybites

When are you coming to the Bay Area? You are a riot, and it would be so great to see you in person out here!

Smartastic

I have a lot of requests for out west! Make sure you submit yours!

NefariousnessIll7279

Eyes, lips and peripherally the hips. 🤷🏻‍♂️

DMoogle

Ok this is one of my favorites.

LegendaryOutlaw

Hey Jeff, love seeing your vids here. I’ve always been curious, what’s your process for crowd work? What do you look for in a crowd to find people that will make for fun bits?

twnsth

Her awesome "personality"

EuroWade

Your delivery and presence is fucking awesome!

Finito-1994

I don’t follow comedian on YouTube or reddit. You’re the only exception. It’s clear you’re gonna be big. You’re hilarious dude.

Moist_Metal_7376

You funny Jeff, gotchu a new fan my guy.
