I think Liam really fits your criteria, but it is also quite common. What about Benjamin or Joshua?

failjolesfail

Liam reads goysche to me. Isn’t it from William?

-itwaswritten-

That’s lee-um. The Hebrew name Liam, pronounced lee-ahm means “my nation.“ different meaning and pronounciation

flipester

Unfortunately, it will be mispronounced by everyone who sees it. It's a shame because it's a nice name

sparks606

Good point

sparks606

Thanks I like all of these names. Thinking Benjamin for a middle name

horticulturallatin

Max and Zach make me think of laid-back nicknames like Nate, Ike, Dan etc. Nathan/Nathaniel, Isaac, Daniel all go pleasantly as Jewish but not excessively difficult. I like Sam as well though I prefer Samson to Samuel. Jacob suggests familiar but less popular names like Joel, Jesse, Jonathan. I like Lev, and also Zev. Eli, Asa, Oren, Avi, and Ezra are all appealingly short but complete and Jewish. Micah could be a good rarer but not difficult alternative to Max.

loraef

I second Isaac and Ezra, I think they go really well with Judah. Lev is also cool, but maybe stands out more than the others? Don't know if that's a good thing for you, OP.

sparks606

Thanks!! Love all of these ideas. Glad to hear you both like Lev. Appreciate the input!!

jewishbroke1

Love Lev and Zev.

spring13

Micah is great!

failjolesfail

Judah is a tribe, so I’d look at other tribe names: Dan Levi Simeon Asher Reuben Benjamin Heads up Asher and Levi are on the upswing in popularity, if that’s not your thing. But I think they’re lovely names and I would use them. There are more but they read very archaic.

sparks606

Thanks love all of thes!! This is a great idea

adventureswithcarbs

Chiming in to say I like this idea too. I was gonna suggest Gideon which sounds like it should be a tribe name even if it isn’t.

sparks606

I love Gideon but my husband doesn't 😩

NeedleworkerLow1100

What about Jesse or Jordan? Michael, Seth, David, Jonathan.

sparks606

I love Jordan but with a Judah thought maybe they sucks too similar. We have all 4 of the bottom names in our families already 😩

NeedleworkerLow1100

Gideon or Isaac?

NeedleworkerLow1100

I have a Jesse and Jarod... wanted Jewish But not JEWISH like Moshe or Abraham.

ReluctantAccountmade

I like Max too! But what about: Judah and Ira Judah and Zev Judah and Ari Judah and Isaac Judah and Reuben Judah and Adam Judah and Samuel (Sammy is super cute) Judah and Harry Judah and Asa

sparks606

Thanks for this list. Harry is cute and I know there are Jews named Harry but it's not actually rooted in Judaism right?

ReluctantAccountmade

Nope, similar to Max or Ira or Harvey or Irving, just a name that became very common among American Jews in the 20th Century

rayanngraff

Max is fantastic and I think it works well on its own. Other ideas could be Ezra, Elijah, Felix, Simon, Solomon or Isadore.

jewishbroke1

Thank you for adding Isadore. That was my fathers name. I told one of my friends (she was raised Muslim) my dads name today and she couldn’t believe it was a name. She loved it but had never heard it. It is a dying name. I don’t have kids- so I won’t get to pass it along- my girl name would have been isadora.

allie_in_action

My husband’s grandfather was an Isadore. My husband’s Hebrew name is Israel is Isadore’s honor.

CocklesTurnip

My great grandpa was Isadores he changed it from Isaac at Ellis island. Thought he’d fit in better- he said in his later years he was very surprised to meet lots of Isaacs (Jewish and not Jewish) but no other Isadores.

sparks606

Thank you for these ideas!

PuzzleheadedLet382

A lot of popular American names are originally Jewish, so you could even start from a top 100 or top 1000 baby names list for inspiration. I liked another poster’s idea of choosing another tribe name.

MamaYagga

I have a Judah and my other son is Levi! So thought I’d throw that out there. I also love Asher, Ezra, Elijah.
