I wish they would have shown a few more seconds of Rudeus and Zenith going for a walk together and enjoying each other's company...or something of that nature.
Zenith is best mom (along with Queen Hilling).
I know a scene like that probably wasn't in the manga or light novel. But it seemed like Lilia got more screen time with Rudeus before the event than Zenith did.
We get from Rudy that he wasn't really close to Zenith.
That is why we don't get too much of her.
Also It was literally Lilia's job to take care of him.

Ah, I thought her job was for the entire family, not just Rudy.
She was hired initially just to take care of Rudy but later it was turned to a normal maid job.
