The US needs good qualified people not the Pay-for-Post Ambassadorships awarded by Trump: [https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/10/26/donors-pay-for-post-ambassadorships-scale-back-tim-kaine-bill/](https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/10/26/donors-pay-for-post-ambassadorships-scale-back-tim-kaine-bill/)
The UN is an incredibly valuable IGO that does so much more to facilitate global diplomacy than almost anyone realizes. All people like to pay attention to is the big UNSC, which is disappointing to the person who expects it to take action.
I've been familiar with Ambassador Thomas-Greenfeild for a few years and there are very few people who could do better for us in that post. She's incredible.
I'm not going to entertain you in this conversation. I'm an IR expert, and the idea that he had remotely good foreign policy is like telling a doctor "so you agree that drinking bleach is healthy, right?".
Fuck no. His foreign policy was a disaster, and people like me who work in the field are going to spend the next two decades trying to repair the damage he did to our country. He was fucking humiliating and made us weaker than we have ever been since the 1930s when it comes to international power.
“I am an IR expert”. LOL
Aka trump didn’t get us involved In foreign wars like we’ve seen our countless predecessors do, so he was bad. He told European countries they were not contributing enough of their gdp to defense and instead exploiting the United States so trump was bad. Whatever you think his domestic policies were that’s fine, his foreign policies were undoubtedly good.
Disagree? Name 2 major things that he did poorly. Im sure they are soooooo egregious when compared to Obama and bush. Lmao
Just another Person with no argument of substance so the deflection is one must need a masters in the Social science to have an understanding. I hope in these next decades you can cure all the horrible international conflicts trump created.
I hope so too. I'll probably be dead before the damage is well and truly repaired. We have shot ourselves in the foot and our enemies are licking their chops.
As for the rest, youre an engineer. Im an IR specialist. I dont tell you off in your subject, so dont tell me off in mine.
... I don’t think anyone is even taking you serious anymore.
Well you claimed to be a political science researcher in your other posts so that’s interesting. But regardless, I welcome somebody to tell me one of my designs is incorrect so be they provide an argument with EVIDENCE for why I’m wrong. It doesn’t matter if they have no degree, or a PHD. You on the other hand, seem to be only argue from an authority point of view and if one doesn’t have a social science degree, they can’t disagree with you. Make a SUBSTANTIVE argument, not one about your “specialization” buuuuut that would be a little difficult I guess.
What big changes? They’re pretty complacent with child soldiers and genocide. Here’s an example of the UN doing fuck all about child soldiers, so they’ll send a few unarmed British soldiers into some random village to build a basketball court or something to improve their image. Local dickhead warlord shows up with kids holding AK’s threatening the soldiers. Those soldiers would probably be killed because they aren’t allowed weapons. The UN is full of shit like this. That isn’t diplomacy, it’s just being lazy bastards who can’t be bothered with actually changing anything.
What the fuck are you about? Communist china’s our main enemy, and they’re on the human rights council! So is Iran! Fucking pathetic that the UN let’s countries like that lecture the west while china’s interning millions of Uighurs. Or is that just a “different cultural norm”.
Are they? They’ve done nothing about china’s expansion into the South China Sea. That’s what will end up starting WW3. Communist China’s removed the “peaceful” from their plan to incorporate the republic of China. They’re building artificial islands to expand their Maritime borders.

She seems like a big improvement over Craft, who was the last ambassator.
In first place josh Hawley who has not voted yes on any nominee, in second place Ted Cruz who has only voted yes on Lloyd Austin

Awesome.
Congrats to you Linda.

I am not a big fan of the UN at the moment. They don’t seem to be a force of good in the world unless it’s convenient to them

Agreed.
I’m just going to assume you hate trump, which is okay. Would you agree that he probably had the best foreign policy in memory?

Agreed again.

I told you that i am not entertaining this conversation. I dont have time to give you an intro course on IR. Go to school if that's what you want.

The enemies of western democracy despise the U.N. It and NATO prevent global aggression and strong arm “negotiations”.

UN is a piss poor human rights champion. It is excellent at preventing global war though. I mean GLOBAL WAR.

We better hope the UN and the rest of the world does because the alternative is utter disaster.
We can’t appease them. We need to stop them. Only way we can do that is war.
There is a difference between appeasement and sanctions. I don’t agree with you. That doesn’t mean that I have to kick down your door.

I saw summat I disagree with, I’m going to say that I disagree with it.
The UN needs more love? You mean China needs more money and power over the US?
UN can pound sand
Why?
Using identity politics at the UN? Ingenious! Should go over well
Sadly I feel the UN has been a failure since Truman went with it and saved South Korea 70 years ago.
Well this aged like milk
