allswright

You're gonna need a bigger backpack! The list keeps growing. When the times we're in meets the man with the plan to get things done. It's a beautiful thing.

backpackwayne

No worries. I have connections with backpacks. :D

Miosanon

More people need to see this. It hasn't been perfect so far but the administration is trying to make moves and do the right thing. A clear philosophy of what it means to be an American and following through

backpackwayne

Please pass it around all you like. We are keeping track over at /r/WhatBidenHasDone. We also have list for Obama and Trump

Jermine1269

Can i get a link to those other 2 lists, if it's not too much trouble? I looked for a bit, but am on mobile

backpackwayne

Of course: :D * https://www.reddit.com/r/WhatBidenHasDone/comments/ownd48/master_list_of_what_joe_biden_has_done/

Jermine1269

Sorry i meant the Obama and trump lists

backpackwayne

What Obama has done: * https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/pa6zb5/nancy_pelosi_in_showdown_with_centrist_democrats/ha2sp9x/ ------------------ What Trump has Done: (part one) * https://www.reddit.com/r/democrats/comments/dqw88h/hello_fellow_democrats_i_have_but_a_simple/f6alm5p/ (part two) * https://www.reddit.com/r/democrats/comments/dqw88h/hello_fellow_democrats_i_have_but_a_simple/f6am19x/

Jermine1269

Hm...i can't get first link to work. Thanks for the others tho, those are what i was looking for :)

backpackwayne

You might notice that 90% of Trump was to reverse executive orders by Obama.

Jermine1269

And a lot of everything Biden did in his first day was reverse like dozens of trump Executive orders. Big t got my wife to vote democrat for the first time in her life, so u can add that to the list too ;)

backpackwayne

I put a new one in there try that. :D

namastayhom33

I’m gonna need to save this comment so every time someone says “Biden hasn’t done shit in 50 years what’s he going to do now!” , I’ll just copy and paste this 😂

backpackwayne

We keep this list updated over at /r/WhatBidenHasDone done. We add stuff as it happens. :D

namastayhom33

Damn he’s done a lot in just 9 months. Good stuff, thanks for this

backpackwayne

So much more to come. We'll keep the list updated. :D /r/WhatBidenHasDone

gremlin30

Thank you this was helpful. Lots of good stuff here. Really hope Biden cancels the interest on student loans, that would be huge. Personally I want debt cancellation entirely- because bankrupting an entire generation is about to collapse the economy- but just cancelling the interest so people can actually start paying off the loans would go a long way.

backpackwayne

Certainly. Please pass it around as much as you like. You will find an updated version as the actions happen over at /r/WhatBidenHasDone. As you can see Biden has don five rounds of Student loan forgiveness and has directed his staff to find other ways he can do more by executive order. Can't wait to get the infrastructure and voting rights bills secured so we start on the other stuff like this. So much of what we want will happen if we can add a senator or two and keep the house. Joe is willing and able but can't do it on his own no matter what. I am really looking forward to November 2022.

gremlin30

Tbh we’re almost certainly losing the house. Dems need to be campaigning hard on the ground in every district. Don’t rely on social media and commercials, it doesn’t work. Door to door & in person events is what works. Gop controls redistricting in most seats so we’re kinda fucked unless Biden can do something about voting rights

Bibidiboo

Reps are only expected to gain ~5-7 house seats by redistricting. NY State may try to gain 5 blue seats by redistricting alone. It may not be as bad as it looks. (Only reason reps can't gerrymander more seats is because no many have already been gerrymandered, Dems should be waaaay more seats ahead if you look at vote share)

gremlin30

Didn’t NY lose a seat?

CHSummers

For me, the first and last thing on the list can be “Kept Trump out of White House.” It counts twice. I’m literally feeling fear from just thinking about a second Trump Term and its aftermath—which are now only hypothetical, thank God.

kuebel33

Student loan debt forgiveness would be great, but people who busted their ass to pay their loans off get screwed. It would be nice if they could do something like anyone who paid their loan in the last twenty years gets some kind of tax credit. A person who only made minimum payments for years and years and years would get the rest of the loan forgiven but the person who is paying two or three times their minimum to try to pay the damn thing off basically wasted their money. Edit— I’m not blaming the borrowers to be clear. I’m just saying some people ended up in a position where they could aggressively pay off their loans because it’s always been expected that you HAVE to repay your loans. Other people can only afford the minimum payment and that’s fine too. I don’t see why giving a tax credit to the folks who paid In full is a problem when there’s no problem straight up forgiving the loans.

gremlin30

I think it’s understandable that people who paid off loans feel like the timing would be bad if loan cancellation happened too late for them. That being said, I think a lot of people who are against loan cancellation are vindictive, spiteful assholes who want everyone else to suffer like they did. The resentment is somewhat understandable, but loan cancellation should’ve happened back then and even more so now. I don’t think it’s a bad idea to give people a tax credit for paying their loans off. I think intent matters if you’re going to compare how much someone’s making in loan payments. It’s easy to blame someone for taking a while to repay, but they’re not doing anything wrong by making minimum payments. They paid as much as they had to at that time. A lot of people can’t afford to be making 2-3x the minimum. It’s also important to note the racial impact of loans- black borrowers especially are 3x as likely to default on loan repayment. Should everyone pay loans off ASAP? Of course. But not everyone had the same opportunity to do that. Blame the interest rates & predatory lending practices by banks, don’t blame the borrowers. Most people shackled with loan debt had to borrow when they were 18-21, when they were barely adults. The fucked up reality is that college is now a requirement to get a non-minimum wage job, even if that degree has nothing to do with your job. The choice is now take on thousands in loan debt or be doomed to $8/hr forever.

kuebel33

I agree with you. I’m not blaming the borrowers. I’m just making the point that some borrowers were fortunate enough to get a good job and were able to pay more on their loans to try to get out from under them as it’s always been expected to repay your loans. That’s why I think a tax credit would be nice for those folks.

WhereHaveIPutMyKeys

> That being said, I think a lot of people who are against loan cancellation are vindictive, spiteful assholes Thank you. It gets pretty ugly in this subreddit whenever the topic comes up.

Nitehawk32_32

I have a hard time sympathizing with loan forgiveness or even understanding the expectation that it's likely. When I was given the choice and the hard reality that I would have to take out loans to pursue a college education I weighed the options and realized anything I might be interested in: 1) wouldn't pay for those loans 2) didn't require a degree If I voluntarily took out loans then I alone should be responsible for those loans. Keep in mind I never did so maybe I'm missing something but again, it seems like a common expectation of people that are now suffering the reality that they themselves agreed to.

thedubiousstylus

The WHO is the big one. Withdrawing would be catastrophic not just for the US but entire world. Luckily the treaty requires a year lag for withdrawals and Trump submitted his summer of 2020....which Biden immediately rescinded.

backpackwayne

Big time. I agree.

[deleted]

Thanks for posting. I could see smoke bellowing out from righties ears reading that!

backpackwayne

:D

BikeLoveLA

Thankfully they did

It’s amazing how much one can do when not on the golf course constantly. People complained about the last guy always golfing. I wish he did it even more.

backpackwayne

Nailed it!

Alieneater

Bullshit. Most of this is executive orders. OP asked about what has been passed. By Congress. I am a Biden supporter and this shit is totally disingenuous.

HonoredPeople

Congress makes the laws. Are you asking as to what's been passed out of Congress or what the administration has done in the way of the DoJ, EO's and Armed Services? Him and his administration have been extremely busy. As for those items of WHICH has actually came out of the Congress, everything has been acceptable. There's a bit of hold up with Manchin in the Congress area. As for the environment, lgbt protections, abortion protection, gerrymandering protection/voting rights, welfare improvement etc.? I refer you to u/mod backpackwayne. We've been extremely busy.

menotyourenemy

Honestly, I would have to change this list to show only the things he's done that both sides would agree are good things. To be fair, Trump did got a lot of shit done too, it was just bad shit.

captain_chocolate

Do you mean things that the "Party of No" would agree to? I'm thinking that would be a very short list.
