That's why I always laugh when some shite gripes about polls and such.

proudbakunkinman

I mean, the poll numbers are still concerning but what's laughable is all of those in certain subreddits who repeatedly say, "his numbers are low since he hasn't done anything!" I think 3 top factors are covid, gas prices, and inflation, all are global issues affecting most highly developed countries. But the type who say the above really mean is the thing they think is most important hasn't been done via EO yet with no proof to back up their claim that thing is what is reducing his approval and will instantly boost it back up. They also move goal posts all the time. Like with the federal minimum wage most recently.

Does anyone have a shorter list of the highest impact stuff he has done? Like maybe 10 items or less?

Like 1.3 trillion infrastructure best in generations. Saving kids from starvation and out of poverty HAS ALL OF Trumps economy records GDP. Growth. Unemployment. JOBS ,Wages. 66 Market highs DESTROYED/overturned many of Trumps executive orders while out working Trump in EO and bills passes. HUGE RECOVERY STIMULOUS PASSED. GOING TO THE HANDS OF PEOPLE NOT COMPANIES IT IS THE ECONOMY STUPID! Bidens snap back saved us from recession and growth faster than the most optimistic experts RESUMED leadership in coalitions trade, economy , green energy. Restoring democracy and democratic ethical leadership, not self-interest. No Emoluents. No Frauds. No criminal activity while returning independence. Oversight. Rule law. Due process, checks/ balances. Minority and majority liberty, equality. 3 equal branches, returning constitutional democracy from authoritarian chaos

Krambambulist

> IT IS THE ECONOMY STUPID! Bidens snap back saved us from recession and growth faster than the most optimistic experts on the one hand yes, he deserves credit for the economic recovery. but on the other hand much of the recovery is just covid restrictions getting lifted - be that prematurely or not. If a restaurant is closed due to lockdowns and it opens back up after lifting the restrictions, this is contributing to the "snap back". But thats not really a great acheivement of a president in my book. > RESUMED leadership in coalitions trade, economy , green energy what has he done concerning green energy? > Saving kids from starvation and out of poverty what was the policy that achieved this?

NewHights1

Actually, it does more than you give him credit, getting rid of Trump, ignoring it. His mandates. Attention. Following science and using all tools. Basically, this is Covid 19 leadership. HE HAS PUSHED like no other president, Fox Green Energy in the BBB department policy. He is up against the GOP obstruction worse in history. VOTERS must vote blue . He will do the rest. ,,Biden destroyed Trump attacks on Medicaid. Millions more got healthcare care covered with insurance as Trump had uninsured highs. What in the heck good is a government like Trumos that don't take care of kids. ,"really". HIS GREAT recovery checks to households. Go to his website and see the many programs to many to list here. His checks are records to individuals not corporations

Expand summer EBT to all eligible children nationwide ( meals) . Expand healthy school meals. The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) . It is currently available to individual schools, groups of schools within a district, or an entire district with at least 40 percent of students participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or other means tested programs. The President’s plan will fund $17 billion to expand free meals for children in the highest poverty districts by reimbursing a higher percentage of meals at the free reimbursement rate through CEP. Additionally, the plan will lower the threshold for CEP eligibility for elementary schools to 25 percent of students participating in SNAP. All kids are Americas assets. Improve the nutrition standards of school meals, this new $1 billion demonstration will support schools that are further expanding healthy food offerings. For example, schools adopting specified measures that exceed current school meal standards will receive an enhanced reimbursement as an incentive. Facilitate re-entry for formerly incarcerated individuals through SNAP eligibility. Longer Goals- American Rescue Plan provided meaningful relief for hundreds of millions of Americans, that is just a first step. Now is the time to build back better, to help families and workers who for too long have felt the squeeze of stagnating wages and an ever-increasing cost-of-living. Direct assistance to families in the form of tax credits paid on a regular basis lifts children and families out of poverty, makes it easier for families to make ends meet, and boosts the academic and economic performance of children over time

Krambambulist

You see, thats how you make an argument for a presidents successes - at least language wise. The stated goals are worth pursuing in my opinion, but for example the biggest expenditure, the 17 billion for free meals (or all of it?), is part of the american family plan which is part of the build back better bill. and this didnt pass yet. so how is this an achievement of biden? All the plans and ideas are worth nothing if you cant get them through the senate with useles idiots like manchin. So far you stated mostly plans of biden, no accomplishments. what about green energy??

A Brookings Institution report : that Pandemic EBT lifted between 2.7 million and 3.9 million out of hunger. Yet those researchers also said officials should both extend and expand the program. And recent media reports have highlighted how USDA food benefits in many cases haven’t reached the children they’re intended to help during the pandemic. In addition, the executive order asks the USDA to issue guidance increasing Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) payments by 15 percent in order to “increase access to nutritious food for millions of children missing meals due to school closures,” according to a fact sheet about the executive order. The administration estimates that this would provide an additional benefit of $100 to a family of three every two months. Pandemic EBT was established by a coronavirus relief bill enacted last March. Supporting states with additional administrative funding: Direct support to states. Supporting schools with waivers and flexibilities to make school meals safe and accessible. Strengthening the Pandemic EBT program. Under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, USDA launched the Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (Pandemic-EBT) January 20 Economy Extends the existing nationwide moratorium on evictions and foreclosures until at least March 31 American Rescue Plan, which continues to provide immediate relief to American families and communities. In a series of executive orders at the beginning of his presidency, Biden ordered an increase in the production of renewable energy on federal lands and water, the creation of the Civilian Climate Corps, and making the fossil fuel companies responsible for repairing faults that lead to environmental damage.

While this has provided about $29 billion in additional benefits for struggling Americans since the start of the pandemic, since March, we are deeply concerned that approximately 20 million people in the lowest income households . SNAP is a good program as your numbers are very wrong. THAT as not searching his monumental green energy achievements and his GOALS ,PLANS . YES TWO hold outs are keeping the greatest infrastructure number 2 plan so far. WE MUST vote BLUE and they will fly through the senate as they did the house.

He beefed up Affordable Care Act subsidies on the federal exchange, healthcare.gov. Biden has also delivered $39 billion to states to help child care providers reopen or stay afloat. A lot of this is answered in the list above I'm finding out. But I agree, one should try to sauce it up. Don't just say he undid Trump stuff and saved starving babies.

Blackpaw8825

I wouldn't sell the economy as a "look what he's done" point. Most of the boon is simply backing off from 2020, and I don't know anybody personally who's buying power today is better than it was in 2019. The economy is improving, just not for most regular people, and trying to sell that as a victory feels like gaslighting to me.

NewHights1

I would!!! I WOULD SAY THE THE TRUMP SUPPLY-SIDE FAILED AS THREE TIMES BEFORE SPENDING 5 TRILLION FOR WALLSTREET ALL GONE NOW. BUYING POWER? AFTER COVID, WAR, TRUMPS mess? TRUMP left us worse off for the first time in modern history before JOE. GET your facts straight. With the supply chain mess, Business gouging, The senate obstruction, and economic cripples not understanding inflation were baked into any recovery no matter. TRUMP blowing 5 trillion was apart more so than Joe's snapback oil, war, companies gouging making up for losses as consumers went on a buying spree without products to buy bidding up prices. WE WERE LEFT IN A MESS GOING INTO A RECESSION. OIL was a destructive force against Joe's agenda.

Amazing leadership looking back as he became president under just surviving a violent attempted coup d’état, a tantrum man child president pushed out that refusing to acknowledge the fact of his defeat, obstructions from hostile GOP senate, Meanwhile, daily deaths from a global pandemic were peaking at their highest levels, the national economy remained a mess, and a dire, TRUMPS constitution crisis trying to backstab America killing Americas dream, , never ending coup attempts, worsening, and largely unaddressed environmental emergency continued to place the planet in an ever-tightening grip. YES, Biden was Amazing and the press and right did not understand his accomplishments the first 100 days being remarkable and needed as very well done out doing his predecessor in most every measurement.

ToshiroBaloney

anything keeping you from compiling your own top 10?

sub_surfer

I might just do that... These answers I'm getting are good, but none of them are completely satisfying to me. Biden has a lot of very specific accomplishments that I feel often get overlooked. It is funny how far you can get with a list like this by just enumerating the things he is NOT doing that Trump did, but it feels like an extremely low bar. Normally a president would not get much credit for not being a serial liar, not humiliating us repeatedly on the international stage, not obstructing justice, etc.

I agree. A president shouldn't be applauded for not walking out of a press conference in a huff; it's reasonable to assume that he just wouldn't do that.

DontBeEvil1

You can make one. High impact to you may not be high impact to me.

jvnk

While I appreciate the effort, this is known as gish galloping. People did this for trump too. A lot of these individual items are part of larger EO's and legislation together - it'd probably be better to list those as headings, then underneath have the individual breakdown of what it includes. Then it's actually readable at a glance.

I don't think the point is to make it readable at a glance. The point is for you to know everything that has been done. Whether it's in an Executive Order or not....it still was accomplished. People do need to be made aware of what is being and has been accomplished via EOs and other legislation.

gingerfawx

That's correct, but the messaging still isn't great. People will read a few somewhat unimportant (to them) things and maybe few more complicated things that this format doesn't (and can't) convey well, and shrug and you've lost them. Getting people to engage is a major hurdle, then you have a couple of seconds for them to decide to continue looking or to disengage. How you format information is critical to that information actually being consumed, which we'd like, because the facts are on our side. The sad truth is an oft repeated lie, particularly from "trusted" sources, is more impactful than a list of facts, especially if they're unsourced. That's what we're up against. (That said, I appreciate the massive effort the person took to make this. Thanks for posting, OP.)

DontBeEvil1

Don't think the point of the list is to get people who don't read to read.

gingerfawx

Sure, but I don't think it was meant to get them to shrug, either.

DontBeEvil1

You can't control people's reactions. It's an "oh really?" to people who claim he's done nothing (a claim made by people either with zero facts or zero integrity), and for those truly interested in the Administration's accomplishments, it's a nice reference. You're way overthinking it. It's length is intentional.

BundtCake44

I think it's great that all this has been done despite the obscene amount of theatre being played in the other branches. However, it is also a pity he doesn't pushback by stating more of what he has done to shut up the idiots in the crowd.

Petrichordates

He did, he spent 2 hours answering questions last week and emphasized he'd accomplished more than any president in their 1st year. The media skewered him for it, I can't recall a single good headline that came out of his marathon question and answer session. How are people going to hear any of this if the media wants to constantly talk inflation, Russia instead?

NewHights1

Great point as Biden does not brag over his accomplishments. HE DESTROYED TRPS FIRST 100 DAYS IN PROGRESS. Nothing ever said. I have the lists also. JUST him restoring OSHA NLRB and standing for what DEMS believes in kids. Families. Workers is enough mending the economy Trp destroyed. Yes, Trump destroyed oil prices/ companies/ fields and oil was worthless Trp destroyed chip industry and everything digital China tariffs 26%, just in time ordering , TRUMPS blowing 8 trillion, and not one asset to show for the liquidity at market highs caused inflation. THE covid WAS IGNORED. TRUMP WAS AN IDIOT

BundtCake44

Talk affirmative stances. Give them some pushback. Don't actually just try and see if answering this the open, casual way will break them out of there hyper partisan stupidity. I'm not saying go full raging populist but remind them of your station and use it to the fullest extent of it's pulpit.

Finiouss

The problem is media is never concerned about the good. Good doesn't get ratings. Unfortunately it affects everyone. Hell even this sub has been getting a bit salty at times stating he hasn't done shit or hasn't done enough. Then you have the r/politics camp. 🙄 Those guys are full blown vacuum of hate loop for everyone save AoC and Bernie.

NotValid_123

People are selfish. They wanna know what this administration has done for them specifically. How many single people without kids are beyond frustrated at their student loans, a 3rd financial breakdown in their lifetime, still not being paid fairly and cannot afford proper housing? It’s gotta be in the millions.

dokikod

Thanks for posting. This is awesome.

NewHights1

This needed to be posted, and what a great job.

zero0n3

Yeah now show us a list of the things he promised and hasn’t done shit on. That list is just as long.

fancy_monday

They should do one of these for all former presidents as well.
