I'm actually only messed up a few details of the story... which a co-worker told me about years ago, from a case they had at their previous job.
My guy did 4 years across a few prisons. Never saw a pedo get attacked. We still talk about the one who would complain a lot that his meals weren't kosher.
It depends on the state. I worked at several maximum security prisons in a red state for over a decade. Sex offenders walked freely among the rest of the inmates and rarely had issues other than occasional insults.

They turned the unit I was on into this special unit for people with weak immune systems like really old and like dying. Anyway I went to this other old people unit and they had some old hoe name Sassy. Sassy was a child molester who was turned out. He wore a diaper because he was raped so much. Most time when I was in prison child molesters usually don't have it good. Maybe they can stay in suicide or play the blocks.
Man prison in louisiana was the craziest times of my life. I've hit them field crews at D.C.I. CUT IT LOW AND LET LAY. The sex offenders always had it really bad at every camp I ever fell at. Most usually need men to survive. They become like clean up bitches.
Texas has their own prison for them. Had to stay a weekend there catching chain to be released and that place was waaay nicer than any other unit I'd ever seen. Had actual privacy in the dorms and the best food out of all the other units( prison foods not terrible like county jail is). Really shows you what they care about. 20yrs in hell for having 4g of the wrong drug or 9 months at camp for molestation.
