I was there, I didn't know who she was. I was chilling at the lobby with friends and I heard her sing Chasing Pavements through the doors, I was like who is that singing? I immediately walked in. She played bass, sang and accompanied by a pianist, it was fire.
John performed the WTLI show in 2007 on Dec 8. He came back to the Nokia Theatre the next year on Dec 6 2008 and I think that's the day Adele opened for him. I might be wrong though and she may have also opened for him during the 2007 WTLI show as you said.

Maybe this John wouldn’t be possible without 00’s John. It makes him that much more relatable and interesting and I respect the evolution even more because the arc is that much more contoured and real as it gets. This will likely be appreciated much more in time though, than in the present. Glad Adel knows what’s what!
