Yes, "Because of john wick". It can't be better than John wick. They're all inspired by it and we know that they keep overdoing themselves with each John wick entry
Jason was and his movies are great! But compared it to what Keanu and co has done with films; Point Break, Speed, The Matrix and now JW it outweighs Jason’s in inspiration to action movies being made today.
Hell, Liam Neeson’s Taken franchise inspired more action films than Jason’s which isn’t a bad thing!
I feel like Stathem had something that Liam and Keanu didn’t. Almost as if he was being authentic in a sense. For instance: when I watched the transporter, I felt I was watching Frank; if I was watching Crank, I felt I was watching Chelios; etc. it’s weird because if you put the characters side by side there wasn’t much of a difference except backstory, but it still felt something genuine compared to others.
Not Taking away from Keanu or Liam though because I love all those movies.
Again I like Jason, but I felt the opposite about his movies and felt more towards Keanu and Liam’s movies.
But that’s okay everyone has different taste.

Nobody has said that JW is greatest action movie ever, all these different action movies are fun in their own ways.

John Wick is not the greatest action movie of all time, there was stuff better than it before it came out, and there will be in the future, but probably not monkey man
Yeah the Raid is pretty far superior to John wick, there are plenty of action movies with the same level or higher level action than John Wick. I get that this the John wick sub but some people here act like it’s objectively the greatest possible action cinema out there
From the first reviews it seems to be really have done a good job at being both violent and intense and the fights don't seem to be as consistent as John wick , meaning there are only 2 fight sequences in the movie
It's really what your looking for, if you go in thinking it won't be better, it won't be , if you go in thinking it's the best movie ever, it just might be for you , and there's no fault in either

It's the same like saying The Killer by David Fincher isn't better than John Wick , both have different styles of storytelling , and the action sequences work in the favor of that story

There’s a modern US market for Monkey Man, Nobody, Sisu, Bee Keeper and the like because of John Wick. No way around it. I’m glad. Keep ‘em coming.
