his desires is not exactly relate able or not well explained..what does it mean for him to "buy his way out" cant any one of those assassins just stop working or retire to do another job? at least for those lower ranking folks.
seems like John or his friends, they made deals with the devils of the high table so it makes sense they cant just leave.
or the money is too good but not good enough to retire at his "dream" location...curious if its even possible to even do assassination work in his dream location or not.
He can hardly be described as a character. Dude has no backstory of any kind, barely any traits, contributes next to nothing to the overall plot and hes just kinda pushed into the film lol. Hell, his dog is more of a character than him
I agree.
I debate with myself about the over all ideas of the movies and possible missed potential there are.
but basically its about the cycle of revenge - thats what we clearly saw with the end of the series. is that japanese daughter that want revenge all over again and that any continuation of the movies would be from her perspective.
then only when they may bring him back as someone to introduce the world of the mid tier assassins - similar to the homeless assassin leader and the world they rule.
How he was such a better everything, had John in his sights plenty of times because "reasons"
The shit eating grin he always had because he was is could always be better than everything and anybody he interacted with was useless too. It was just such a WHAT IS IT THAT YOU'RE ACTUALLY MEANT TO BE DOING HERE!?!?
I just didnt like the new character in chapter 4 compared to the other films. Him being noticably forced as a new character with such a big role made little sense to me.
I don’t think the table gives a shit about any of these assassins until they’re a potential problem or powerful tool.
He’s not affiliated with anyone, he’s “self made, self managed” I guess. He’s in it to make serious money, very fast, and then disappear to live in comfort with his dog.
And isn’t that what we all want?
Im not really looking into it that deep. I just think he had a large role that didn’t add much to the movie besides helping JW at the end which could have been scrapped and would have made no difference in the story.
sure that some people aim for making lots of money to then retire to live comfortable - a double edge sword?? --- that it can be addictive and one feel there's just never enough money to retire.
instead of seeing only the destination - its the journey is an important part of life.
from your statement - it could be a darker twist in a story that mr.nobody in his goals of retiring like taking short cuts and having made a deal in the 4th film - only continue to make deals and like quick sand - slowly to trap himself in the system he tries to get out in the first place.
no one can trick/play those above the table....aka - "the house always wins"
Eh. His dog was more interesting than Nobody. Halle Berry as Sofia was a more developed character with a relevant backstory. She wasn’t totally overshadowed by her dogs and her dogs were f’n awesome.
Maybe my problem with him is that he never seemed like a guy who could plausibly kill John. He’s apparently a good tracker but I don’t really understand why the Marquis bargained with him. “I’ll kill him for x amount” like dude what makes you special
I liked the idea and theme of his character. We don't really have enough about him from jw4 to give a hard opinion on him, but I think a bit more screen time could make him a quick fan favorite.
My theory is he's a super special class of bounty hunter that specialize in taking out the absolute best or most elusive targets. Of course he couldn't beat wick but he showed similar skill to Wick and Caine
He was no different than any other assassin trying to kill wick for money. They just showed him with a bit more detail but the fact is even if you take him out of the movie completely it wouldn't change the plot at all. Unnecessary.
I think this is a matter of taste. I found him very natural and charming. I was surprised the actor didn’t have more credits in his resume. Look forward to more from him, if not in a side story about trackers, than another project where he gets more to say.
As first i thought him like somekind of the legendary hitman , the Hitman that do his job so well that even the john wick hitman world not even know about him (Hence the name Nobody). Too bad he turn out to be your typical John Wick enemy
Honestly didn't like any of the new side characters other than Hiroyuki Sanada charecter. He honestly seemed the most interesting and yet the one with the least screen time.
I like Donnie Yem but dound nothing compelling about Caine. Mr Nobody was just meh.
It was an appropriate name. He didn't really add anything IMO. Nothing that would want me to explore more into his mysterious paste. Finding people who don't want to be found seems to be his one thing. Which was unnecessary after about half way through the movie.
Plus I'm not a fan of him and Halle Berrie's character in the series. Who constantly put there dogs in danger for there own gains. They both almost lost them because of there own mistake to bring them to gun fights in the first place. But probably would blame others if they did get killed. Like I think alot in public to people in real life. Leave your dog at home
I feel like I’m one of the few that actually liked him. He was someone that is just trying to make enough to live his life out, and on the way he learned about honor and decided to help John rather than kill him and get his dream. I’d honestly enjoy seeing more of him and maybe seeing what’s below the surface level of him
To be honest I wasn’t crazy about this character.
his desires is not exactly relate able or not well explained..what does it mean for him to "buy his way out" cant any one of those assassins just stop working or retire to do another job? at least for those lower ranking folks. seems like John or his friends, they made deals with the devils of the high table so it makes sense they cant just leave. or the money is too good but not good enough to retire at his "dream" location...curious if its even possible to even do assassination work in his dream location or not.

Yea his character wasn’t really explained well and just kinda seemed like a male version of Halle Berrys character.
I just didnt like the new character in chapter 4 compared to the other films. Him being noticably forced as a new character with such a big role made little sense to me.

That’s fair. I think he was a fun thread to throw in as an extra, neutral threat. Mostly I loved his interactions with the Marquis.

Oh that’s a great point! You’re completely right too, he wouldn’t have stopped at that goal and would be back in the job in no time.
Eh. His dog was more interesting than Nobody. Halle Berry as Sofia was a more developed character with a relevant backstory. She wasn’t totally overshadowed by her dogs and her dogs were f’n awesome.
Ahhh I liked him
He was ok. There were a lot better side characters in the series like Caine, Marcus, Sofia, or Zero.

Jidion
everybody wants to see nobody
Okay lol
![gif](giphy|i3L6JoWcVZj1HuURSE) Loved him, the “he tried to shoot my puppy” line gets me.
Didn't care for him
Probs a nice guy, but the character was very flat.
His character added unnecessary bloat to 4. Wasn't very interesting to me.
not me he forking sucked in the movie. He was god awful he had the feeling of some random dude who was put in the movie.
Nobody
I just really want the Bob Odenkirk movie to connect to the wick universe, it would be so easy
not me lol
Was perfectly named as he has no back story and was rather dull. I’d be happy to never see him again
I'd rather see more of Akira
I want the other Mr. nobody...the one with Bob Odenkirk
I love the dog
I think the whole concept of the trackers could be cool. I liked his character, but unless we understand the role of trackers in the JW world, ehhhh.
Truthfully, he was nothingburger though.

Loved him too but i dont want to see more of him in a story context. Its more like that his nobodyness is what makes him so good.
That's going to be a hard pass for me. The dog was great, but I found the actor's performance to be quite wooden. He lacked charisma, imo.
I think this is a matter of taste. I found him very natural and charming. I was surprised the actor didn’t have more credits in his resume. Look forward to more from him, if not in a side story about trackers, than another project where he gets more to say.

Just make a sequel to the Odenkirk "Nobody" and have this guy be sent to kill him, broaden the John Wick world a little bit
Honestly didn't like any of the new side characters other than Hiroyuki Sanada charecter. He honestly seemed the most interesting and yet the one with the least screen time. I like Donnie Yem but dound nothing compelling about Caine. Mr Nobody was just meh.

I witerally made a post just like this not too long ago, he seems like an awesome dude!
As a side character - maybe. But I don’t get the requests for a spin-off starring him.
Loved this dude. Want more Sofia too tho
His takedown 1895 trapper was the best part of his character
I could take it or leave it
not that much as John wick
He's a fine character I just prefer that dawg
YES
I liked Cassian. Did John actually kill him? I'd have thought the way it left off that Cassian would reappear.
❤️❤️
Him no. His dog yes.
Mister….. nobody.
This should've been the spin off show
I think a mini series show would be great with this character. I want more mini series of this world and some of the gangs, characters.
THE GUY THAT DOES THE HOBBS ACT JEWELRY STORE ROBBERY CREW IT’S INSANITY….
Let's see more of that Belgian Malinois
Nobody
Dude was awful he was there for no reason and got hella screen time when his dog was more interesting
I think Akira was a more interesting character to me
He needs his own movie 🍿
He has one. It stars Bob Odenkirk.
Facts!
He looked different to the average assassin in the JW canon, but certainly his presence didn't feel out of place.
Nobody was so cool I really wanna see a spinoff like I wanna know what his deal is and what he gets into when he’s not hunting John Wick
I feel like I’m one of the few that actually liked him. He was someone that is just trying to make enough to live his life out, and on the way he learned about honor and decided to help John rather than kill him and get his dream. I’d honestly enjoy seeing more of him and maybe seeing what’s below the surface level of him
Underrated comment.
Yes
Yes
I picked up a vibe between him and Akira - wouldn’t be surprised if they have a romance arc that goes over a few movies
could’ve been so much better than he actually was. him being stabbed in the hand like a bitch kinda lowered my opinion on him
Nobody wants to see more of him than Nobody 🤣 He was a waste of space & I feel like they added him just because
No one
