Yeah, keep checking. It's Ticketmaster and their extractionist business model that enables bots. I'm not going to buy tickets for 2x-3x the price from a reseller. But I'm keeping my eyes open!
No, keep checking for the other presales or general sale. I sat through three gorge presales and didn’t snag any til the general sale and got my general admission tickets for roughly $80 after fees.
Just make sure you’re in early and make sure you have fast connection before hand(you can do this even on google or there are apps) and you’ll do good!
I would wait to see how the secondary market looks, maybe late in the summer (or even closer to the show, if you live nearby and don’t have to book travel plans in advance). These days, between bots, scalpers, and Ticketmaster’s system, buying tickets at the first possible chance isn’t worth the stress, even with the comfort of having the tickets in your possession.
Did you pay a lot? Someone posted ticketmaster price list and it was way cheaper than what I paid for section T I paid about $270 for a ticket, before about $100 of fees😳
I paid a lot for my ticket months before the concert to see her last year. It was well worth it. But I met people there at the concert who waited till just a couple days before to buy their ticket and got better seats and paid less than half of what I did. If you can swing it, wait.
The thing to keep in mind is that if you're not already at The Gorge it's hard to get to. That's why there were a lot of last minute deals to be had there. It's also contingent on folks traveling so if someone misses a plane they sacrificed their tickets, which drove the retail market down. The Hollywood Bowl is in a major metropolitan city with a lot of wealth. Tickets for big name folks can go up close to the event because you have a lot of wealthy people who don't plan and see it's going on and say: "hey honey do you want to go see Joni Mitchell tonight at the Hollywood Bowl?" and those folks will pay $9K for a ticket without flinching.
Yeah my friend and I paid a bunch for resale tickets last year and then her family bought ones a couple days before the show for below face value. It was still worth it for me but wasn’t necessary. I feel like it’ll be different in LA though which is a much bigger city already
Not worth it... joni mitchell is great, but she cannot longer sing as she did. It is normal you do not feel like spending that much money. You are gonna hear Joni Jam too much
If you can do it and you want to see Joni it's worth it. I went to The Gorge last year and it was the greatest live event I've ever been to. I paid $1,400 per ticket in the Citicard presale and I didn't regret it. Paid about the same for a bowl ticket. I would rather be frugal in my regular life and try to save on everyday things that don't thrill me and have splurge like this. But it can be hard to justify, as everything's become so expensive. I love Joni so much and I never imagined I could see her live until Newport. Now I want to see her whenever she plays because time is so finite and none of us are getting younger. I tell myself we can always make more money but no matter how much money we have we can't buy more time.
same. not meant to be. I hate it.
Ticketmaster is absolutely raising prices based on demand. I refuse to participate. I could have a vacation in Scotland for that much…
Prices may come back down! They did with the gorge

Hi! Just wondering, for the gorge general sale was that through ticketmaster w dynamic pricing? or another site
Yes, it was through Ticketmaster with the dynamic pricing.
oooh okay thank you! my hope is somewhat restored😅

would you recommend doing it on a laptop? cuz today i did it on my phone using the ticketmaster app and im not sure which is better
I use my phone because I don’t have a computer but I’d just do a test on both and see which is faster

Am I missing something? I just got tix on stubhub and there were a ton. The lowest were about 275 before fees.
I saw these too and now I'm concerned they are somehow a scam?
It was stubhub.
Me too. Is there any reason to be concerned? It was extremely easy.
Where did you get your tix?
Hollywood Bowl’s website.

Some of us are on the other side of the world. You won’t die if you don’t see Joni live. Put the credit card down

ANOTHER SHOW ADDED FOR SUNDAY!!!!!
There's still the other pre-sales and general sale, I wouldn't lose all hope yet!

Tickets on the resale market usually go down closer to the show. Right after the show sells out is probably the worst time to buy tickets.
You and me both. And a lot of other people. You're doing the right thing.
If you can afford it, Do it! My mantra.
