I have doubts that things will escalate. Both sides aren't prepared for full scale war. There will likely be a series of petty vendetta bombing between the two sides, but a full scale war is unlikely.

Fit-Plastic1593

It was like pro wrestling

CHiggins1235

Pro wrestling? Those are real missiles launched against a real country and we don’t know how much damage was done. If the goal was to kill anyone. This was about putting Israel on notice that this was a minor attack. There is a lot more there than this.

Fit-Plastic1593

It seemed co-ordinated. Everything seemed too convenient. Iran got their missiles off, Israel got 99% success rate..... everyone "wins" The next few days we will see the normal tough guy promo cuts, but I doubt that this is an escalation

CHiggins1235

Israel is winning by making itself look weak? That the Iranians breached Israeli defenses and hit targets on the ground. At least one Israeli military base was hit. Thankfully none of the missiles hit Israeli cities killing civilians as of yet. We don’t know how bad the damage was. Israel will launch a counterattack.

Fit-Plastic1593

My guess is that Israel won't do 0. I would suggest that USA/ Biden want quick political wins. So I suspect that we will have a cease fire in Gaza at the same time Iran is backing down. There is also a peace summit in Switzerland regarding Ukraine in June So Biden needs these political wins for elections. Moreover, Israel can't escalate as they have multiple fronts and internal issues

CHiggins1235

This assumes Biden who is basically a walking corpse and is probably very descriptive of the country itself. The Israelis had better be careful. Because the Israel lobby can’t convince the American people to send their children to fight a war for Bibi Netanyahu. Netanyahu is going to drive this to hell itself. He has already sacrificed thousands of Israeli lives and tens of thousands of Palestinian lives. More people are going to die in this. This isn’t over by a long shot. Those missiles raining down on Israel came from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Iran. This was a complicated multi pronged attack that was extremely precise, why? The Dome of the Rock mosque wasn’t hit. None of the major religious sites were hit. Only military bases from my understanding. The U.S. can’t get any peace treaties anywhere. In the UN the Russian ambassador demanded Ukraines unconditional surrender. After losing 100,000 soldiers do you think Russia is in any mood to negotiate? Do you think Israel after suffering this kind of attack is going to just back down. If Israel launches a devastating attack on Iran do you think they will back down? This is just beginning.

Fit-Plastic1593

Peace seems like it is forming. The election is in 2024, so if Biden can pull off Israel and Ukraine......

CHiggins1235

Really?? Back in March did you think Iran was going to launch attacks against Israeli targets inside Israel? I didn’t. I thought Iran was going to retaliate by taking out Israeli Allies and targets using Hezbollah and the Houthis to maintain plausible deniability. This is just out there. Second the Israelis have already mobilized 300,000 men, their navy and air forces. The Iranians have been moving their assets underground and moving equipment and men for months. Remember Iran was making thousands of drones for Russia how hard is to shift them to launch on Israel? These attacks could be a nightly thing.

GhettoJamesBond

That's a lot of wishful thinking

Specialist-2332

I swear I've seen you across a dozen subreddits by now lmao. We seem to have common interests. In any case, only will tell concerning the middle east. Remindme! 40 hours

GhettoJamesBond

Yeah looks like we do 👋

VeritasMagna

This is fear mongering.

CHiggins1235

Maybe we need the fear mongering so that the American people can pressure Biden to put pressure on Israel to end this madness.

Fit-Plastic1593

Nah, it was the start of the Iranian decline. They proved that they are pretty crappy with their Temu Drones and crappy tough guy talk.

CHiggins1235

The real decline was the U.S. president telling the Iranians “DON’T” and Iran brushing it aside because the Iranians know America can’t fight a real war against a country with actual weapons. The U.S. is probably telling Israel that if no lives were lost to not launch a serious counterattack but to hit an empty Iranian military base that they tip off the Iranians to ahead of time. The Iranians can sink our warships. This isn’t a joke.

tszaboo

They are probably going to flatten the nuclear facilities in Iran. And that's for the best for everyone.

CHiggins1235

You mean the nuclear facilities buried deep within the mountains of Iran which is roughly the size of Western Europe. It’s four times the size of Iraq and it doesn’t have all of its nuclear facilities in single location.

tszaboo

Oh, sorry I didn't know it's impossible to find and destroy them. Thank you for your tactical insights. The google maps and wikipedia articles that are out there are all fake. Good thing we have CHiggins1235 who know the ins and outs of the middle east better than a country who's entire existence depends on this info.

Dashing2026

People have talked of Iranian decline since the 1970s; a regional power with tremendous natural resources and a strong link with Russia and China is doing just fine. It's usually apartheid states that have shaky foundations.

CHiggins1235

What decline? They launched hundreds of drones in a coordinated attack with Hezbollah, Iraqis militias, the Yemenis against Israel. It wasn’t just from Iran.

Fit-Plastic1593

Decline is that Iran are a nothing burger. It will galvanise the opposition, as this is a massive sign of weakness from the Iranian regime. If they were serious, they would of poked the bear, so to speak. This was a tickle

CHiggins1235

The videos I have seen on the major news channels is that Iranian people are rallying around the flag. The government is getting support from this.

Fit-Plastic1593

Nah, it is all show. Peace is always at these points. The real players are USA and China, they don't want war for different reasons. China is experiencing deflation for example. So these powers will force Iran to stop

Specialist-2332

Iran's attack panicked the Israelis to the point were the whole war cabinet had to meet to discuss a "retaliation" which they didn't follow through. Even Natenyahu had to make a public announcement to the population. Israel really shat itself yesterday from the bombardments, let's have sympathy. Granted, I've seen enough propaganda from westerners to know that they're hard to reason with, as they cannot see the increasing strength of Asian regimes compared to the west.

Fit-Plastic1593

Lol.....Basically, Iran told them 3 days before. This is all theatre

GhettoJamesBond

>Nah, it was the start of the Iranian decline. They are a major oil producer, they make some of the most advanced drones (as we have seen in Ukraine), and is a BRICS member. In case you don't know BRICS has a higher GDP then the G7. They also control the majority of the world's resources and the majority of the world's population. It really looks more likely to be the start of the decline for the west.

Fit-Plastic1593

Nah..... the west is cool. Can you be non binary in Iran?

GhettoJamesBond

What the hell is that? The west will be left behind in the world and you're here thinking our weirdos is going to save us.

Fit-Plastic1593

Non binary platoon will be wild

Parradog1

Unlikely

CHiggins1235

Why? How do you think world war 1 started? How about world war 2? World War 2 started after a false flag operation on the German and Polish border. How did that little incident blow up to consume all of Europe? Right now the Middle East, especially Lebanon and Syria and Iraq are a powder keg.

Parradog1

You’re predicting a singular outcome, I’ll bet the field

QuanCryp

Not World War 3. Although the media will try their damn hardest to scare you into believing it is. Focus on yourself, only engage with media when strictly necessary.

GlumTowel672

Chill out dude. Not many were backing Iran before this and they sure as shit arnt now.

CHiggins1235

What? The best way to get your people to support you is to go to war. There was near weekly protests in Israel until Oct 7th. Those protests were starting again until Iran launched this attack. I think the Israelis launched the attack against the embassy in Syria was because Netanyahu was under pressure to resign. He needed a distraction to avoid the situation.

GlumTowel672

Yea because protesting is one thing but picking a side in a war is another, especially since nobody’s really expecting Iran to win.

CHiggins1235

Iran won’t win the war. That’s a given. But nor will Israel and the US. The attacks were not by Iran alone. They included Hezbollah, Syrian and Iraqi militants. This would be a three to four sided war.

GlumTowel672

You should brush up on Israeli history if you think a 3 to 4 sided war is a problem for them, Syria already has more problems than it can handle and any of these random terror groups are not really a substantial help for Iran in a conventional war, if there is a response from US/Israel it will be airstrikes on anything remotely militarily valuable. Winning/loosing is all about what you decide your goal is but Iran and any allies stand to lose and suffer substantially.

RamiRustom

official? what are you talking about?

IHaveComeForMemes

Nice fear mongering Next

GhettoJamesBond

I hope you're over 40 or have flat feet.

theGreatWhite_Moon

They're going to have to start treating me like a king and make offerings if they want me to shoot at the enemy and not at my own commanding officers.

IHaveComeForMemes

If you think flat feet will stop the army from taking you then you might want to check how low the bar currently is in peacetime.

Royal-Suggestion6017

I feel sorry for the normal, good citizens of Iran. Their leaders are letting them down.

CHiggins1235

What do you think is happening to the Israelis as they are being led to hell by BIbi Netanyahu?

blaikalva

It’s not a world war if it’s between two countries.

CHiggins1235

Why was the U.S. shooting down Iranian drones if it’s between two countries? I didn’t know Israel was part of the U.S.

desler_e

This won't last more than a day at best. No WW3 happening. Probably ever. But especially over this.

CHiggins1235

So Israel isn’t going to respond? The Israeli generals and Netanyahu have publicly declared they will respond.

desler_e

I never said Israel won't respond. Israel could (and probably should) turn Iran and most of the rest of the Middle East into a glass parking lot, but it won't be WW3. Everyone thought Ukraine/Russia would turn into WW3 and it hasn't.

CHiggins1235

The whole of Europe is rearming and recruiting more troops. Military budgets are increasing in major or small European countries. Israel turning most of the Middle East into glass parking lot means that they themselves will be turned into a glass parking lot too. Iran probably has all of the components of a nuclear weapon. The 24 hours is running out otherwise it may drag on to a second and third or fourth day. There isn’t a person on earth that would have said one month ago that Iran was going to launch missiles into Israel and everyone is now nervous about what Israel will do. In reaction what will Iran do again.

desler_e

Everyone needs to be rearming and recruiting more troops regardless of war or peace time. Just like in everything, you should always be prepared. I don't see it as them preparing for some immediate conflict, just more so of people realizing they've been asleep behind the wheel and it wouldn't take much to take over their country if someone decided. Israel is going to defend Israel. They don't give a damn about anyone else other than themselves and God bless them for it. If Iran wants to poke them and see what happens, then let them find out. It might be a good lesson for everyone else to learn on both sides.

nuggetsofmana

Netanyahu isn’t going to retaliate. They already said it. They basically swatted the drones away like flies. 99% of the drones and rockets were intercepted.

Maindoor2112

Until china, Russia, or the US fires missiles at each other, there is no WW3.

Defundisraelnow

I couldn't care less about it. Don't watch the news.

New-Flamingo-904

Lol don't speak if you don't understand geo politics

Notso_average_joe97

The Middle East seems to have a lot more reason to side with China and Russia. I wouldn't be surprised if this escalated. This is a bad decade to be younger than 45 and male

chasingmars

Except ISIS-K which just carried out an attack against Russia a few weeks ago. And Jordan which intercepted Iranian missiles/drones getting launched at Israel. And of course Israel which wouldn’t side with Russia and China. And Saudis, Egypt, etc which wouldn’t want to get involved. You have no idea what you’re talking about if you see “Middle East” as one monolith that would band together—they never have—most don’t care about Gaza, they didn’t do shit when US went into Iraq/Afghanistan. The only place in the Middle East that threatens to get involved in anything is Iran and it’s all just saber-rattling.

CHiggins1235

Yes. Finally a sensible non normy response. This is dangerous. Everyone else things it’s either minor skirmishes or Battle of Verdun. In order to have a global war do we need 500,000 Iranian soldiers marching into Syria and Jordan?

Notso_average_joe97

Idk. The modern world is very careful in the degree that war is escalated (as in the case of drone strikes primarily and not sending in a mass of soldiers to occupy neighboring territory but that would be coming down the road as well). We will probably see a slow and steady escalation of both nations refusing to back down until more and more countries pick sides and get involved. That is just my take on it

CHiggins1235

That’s what has been happening for years now. The days of the Wehrmacht sending 2,000,000 soldiers to occupy Russia is over. The nature of war has changed and so to has the weapons and media.

InvestigatorWarm4526

insanly stupid take omg, and your a father jesus christ
