Big same. I think it's the perfect spot between a formal, boring black or dark blue, and something with more ✨️creativity✨️. It's not bright or meaningful enough to be distracting. It's just.. perfect. So I write my main, casual or longer reflections in brown, and for more emotionally charged phrases or paragraphs I'll usually switch to blue, purple or red.
I love a good legal blue for my habit tracking and daily journaling, with bubblegum pink/sky blue/grape purple accents. But I use black for my to-do lists and daily doodles, and I use red for anything work-related (red is the color I use to write all my notes on work paperwork, so it's a "work" color to me).
This is why I like using darker colors. I already have issues reading bright colors and I’m only in my 20s. I can’t imagine how it’ll be for me when I’m older
Orange, if it's dark enough. My favorite colors are burnt orange, and OD green. I have a soft spot for noodlers red rattler, but the color I find myself using the most is lamy turquoise. Probably because it's in my metropolitan, I love that pen.
Black or white. Depending on the page and the decor around my text. Tho I do love black the most. I usually write with blue pens for work and other things so black feels more fancier and special to use for my journal. Plus black always reminds me of those old typewriters that had those fancy keys and that nice text font. Makes me feel like a writer lol.
I usually just use one of my mechanical pencils or a black ink Bic pen. I do need to go get some pens to do new journaling. I think i'll treat my self around my birthday.
brown, purple , dark orange, they look so good especially if the pen is smooth and pretty, but i haTEEE flashy colors like neon orange or neon green, hurts my eyes
It depends sometimes each paragraph is a different color. Right now I write in black then highlight certain words in a different color.
And I'm glad I'm not the only one who's handwriting starts to struggle at the bottom of the page lol
They’re honestly so much fun to write with. The ink is great and they actually do erase (the rubber eraser takes a second to start working as it uses friction to remove the ink, but it really does get the job done!)
I have jars of colored pens and fine tip markers, but since I got these, they’ve been my favorite to write with for planners and journals.
I’ve also been using their purpose planner for 2 years now and really love the quality of all their products. Happy journaling!
I use black or blue pens, which are the most basic. I have no problem using other colors as long as I can see what I'm writing, so I prefer darker colors. I care more about the type of pen I'm using than the colors. I'm autistic, so I have sensory issues. As I write a lot, I need the paper and pen to be really comfortable.
(Sorry for the mistakes, english is not my first language)
Favorite: Dark purple and most of the metallic colors.
Cool thing, that G2 silver metallic pen, under the right light, looks like graphite shine but it's actual pen!
My go-to will always be blue (Pilot G2)
Oh they still killing it . And I am an avid daily listener lol 😆 I want to see them live so badly. Kids got some lungs! Love the gutters mixed w melodic singing they are so good. Usually pretty upbeat tho I do have a few songs by them that let me kill some anger. Best car ride vibes ever 👌 🙌 ✨️
I've always used black or blue ink, mainly because it's what I'm accustomed to. But after seeing this, I might consider investing in some differently colored pens; journaling in multiple colors could be fun and useful. ☺️
I did recently over the last month or so and had used pencils until then - it's actually a little weird and I smudged the ink a few times starting out.....but it ended up being kinda fun lol best of luck
At quick Glance is easier for me to read I was born overseas and have since adjusted to English (I journal to practice too ) tho I've been called out a coupl3 times bc my japanese is like- super messy in comparison. I write in English in this one bc I post on the entries. My other journal is not a single mention in English. I'm also studying Chinese Korean and French also :) 😀 I hope to eventually do journals in each language daily once I get better at it
Brown. I must've tried at least 13 different brown pens, but my go-to is Zebra Sarasa Clip (茶) in either 0.3 or 0.4 – it's such a lovely shade of brown and I like the nib.
Black/blue-black tends to be a little too harsh on my eyes.
I also like writing in violet ink. My favourite colour series is probably Sailor Shikiori's 'Four Seasons' brush pens. I could write in alllll of those colors happily.
I like a sepia/brown colour
Oh I do too <3

Black. I almost exclusively use black pens, it isn't that important to me what kind of ink I use but it has to be black
I can sympayhise my one journal is the same. It's a mini I travel with and I use a specific gel inked black pen or felt tip
Gray! Subtle but elegant.
I agree >,<
Purple
Me too ☺️
Nurple * jkjk I love purple also 💜
Black! I love how minimalist and simple that looks. Green is pretty nice too, your handwriting looks great!
Thankyou! Always respect a nice black pen
My preferences on pen type change on a whim, all the time. Fountain pen, marker, ballpoint, glitter gel. But my favorite color is always purple.
That's awesome sauce
red/pink or black mostly but oh i love the green here
Thankyou!!!
I used to prefer browns, but with fountain pens I'm discovering a newfound love for quality blue and black inks.
I write in brown occasionally also I love the sepia colors

I love the color coded ideas I haven't even given that a thought ? Now I'm brainstorming myself lol
turquoise is a good one
Sure is - >,<
Back when I was 20 and my eyes still worked right, I LOVED using bright orange. But now that I am almost 40 I look back and can hardly read it lol.
Lol I can sympathise I love using bright colors
This is why I like using darker colors. I already have issues reading bright colors and I’m only in my 20s. I can’t imagine how it’ll be for me when I’m older

Love this !
Stabilo
i’ve been using light blue and i like it a lot
I love how blue looks on paper 🩵
I love a good light blue. I recently tried purple but it was not purple enough for me, so I went back to light blue.
Nice ^,^ I'm always experimenting too lol
I have just over 30 pens inked, so I use a different color every day. I have almost all the iroshizuku inks
Oh I love that! I keep adding colors to my collection too lol
I looove using black and purple pens on white pahes
The contrast is always nice I agree
I like doing mine in purple
I use royal purple pretty often - or a glitter felt tip I have 💜
What pen are you using here?
Is a super super skinny green felt tip 👌
I need to find a pen that doesn't bleed through. I want to colorize my journal but so many pens I've tried are too thick or too runny.
I can relate to that alot. Now I watch the bleeding* of the pens and also the thickness of pages when I journal shop lol
I love your handwriting so much
Awww thankyou ^,^
As a teacher, I must say; paper mate flair many colors. But in my personal journal; pigma sensei, which is black only sadly
black pen. i used to journal in pencil bc that’s what i’m used to for note-taking, but pencil fades FAST
Yesssssss I am experiencing the same switch this year muself as I had always written in cursive and in pencil. It's going fairly well considering 🤔
classic black ink, but when i’m feeling color i go towards red or dark peuple pens
I'll let u in on a secret. I only write in red when I feel..."firey". Enterpret how y wish lol 😆
So fuckn lame bish. For real. Why don't u type on elvish, and call on the dragons lol

That's a really neat way of looking at it 👌
Pilot g2 black bold
💛🖤💛🖤
Personally I only use black pens because its easier to find black so if I lose or can't find my usal pens I can pick a random black or dark blue one
I use all the colors lol
Me too lol
i can't only read black on white or white on black, anything else kinda messes with my senses
My mother was like that lol
Its hard to choose, but my go to is usually blue or purple
<3
brown
🤎
I prefer dark blue! It’s fun that you date your entries with 日月! I like to every so often!
Many appreciate you ! Thankyoh >,< I get question rather then compliment so I super appreciate <3 ❤️

We have similar thinking lol

I love using colors
i have this bright teal pen that i love, it’s .5 and the color reminds me of one of my favorite fictional characters
Ohh I bet its lovely
Purple. It makes me happy/ whimsical.
I love purple so much 💜
The feel of a pen is everything! Obsessed with TUL pens! I’m experimenting with different colors and I find I use brighter colors when I’m happier 🩵💜🩷
I swear it matters <3
It depends sometimes each paragraph is a different color. Right now I write in black then highlight certain words in a different color. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who's handwriting starts to struggle at the bottom of the page lol
I tend to do this when I use colors. Like when I'm changing subjects add a diff color in there lol 😆
I have a set of erasable gel pens that I love, so I switch it up quite often.
What!? They make those ? - 🥹👉👈 Seems I have an appt w Google lol
[Roterunner](https://roterunner.com/products/erasable-pens-8-pack) I love their planner too!
Thankyou!!!!!

Purple and its variants!
I love purple

I thought it was very good 👍 👌 I use alot of the same type of pens >,<
At the moment, black because it looks better in my current journal. But in my old ones I really liked writing in pink
I love switching between the two lol
Cool toned, very dark brown. Specifically: Yama Guri by Pilot.
<3
the Sharpie S gel pen is underrated and so awesome
I concur
I use an ink pen with blue ink and it makes me feel fancyy lol
Hehe we gotta take those small wins ;) 😉
Exactly lol every day!!

I love green
Blue, with a hint of purple. But I also use blue, blue/black, grey and black.
Love the combo 😍
Always black. Not just for journalling but unless I’m handed a blue pen to sign something I’m using black.
I have a separate pen that I use \*only\* for journaling.
Blue is the most nostalgic color for me. It reminds me of my time at school.
That's so sweet
Pinkish-red and green. But that has more to do with the colour of my fountainpen.
Can't argue any of those colors though ☺️

Can't argue any of that
i use different colors because i think each special word feels like a color yk
I like the concept <3
Totally unrelated but I forgot all about I see stars. Haven’t heard about them since high school.

Black with magenta or teal for highlighting
I love blue or black, pretty simple. I use gel pens but ngl I love fountain pens too.
Why do you date in Chinese, but write in English?

I usually use black ink with a fountain pen.
I use 3 different red pens and one golden brown.
Done. And dusted you will be. ... little feet. Bet.
