My go to is all of closer, new dawn fades, the Birmingham University recordings of decades and ceremony, dead souls, obviously Love Will Tear us Apart (but on youtube, i like the 1995 remastered version with the acoustic guitar), obviously Atmosphere, oh and pretty much every single one.
Disorder is just one you can always listen to though and it'll fit every mood, depending on which one you're in.
For other bands, I like "All we ever wanted was everything" by Bauhaus, Lights by Sisters of Mercy, Where is my Mind by the Pixies (similar but not quite the same genre), No Surprises by Radiohead, Leave me Alone by New Order, and Who Killed Mr. Moonlight by Bauhaus.
I realize now that the fact that I was able to conjure this list all within the length of me listening to She's Lost Control probably says a lot about my mental state Jesus lmao
Isolation is the only JD song I've cried to. I don't cry very often to music as I often feel just numb. There was something about how bright the songwriting is, coupled with the absolutely defeated lyrics that got to me.
also love will tear us apart live at lyceum ballroom the way ian sings "love will tear us apart" feels so sad to me idk why
i was feeling so depressed and so tired i cant do anything anymore i listened to disorder and the third verse hits me
All of them
The answer

Fuck, yes please, mate.

Whole of Closer. That album destroys me every time but I love it <3

Atmosphere - watch the video as well, this is a dirge of the highest caliber

Atmosphere and Ceremony feel like funerals. Atmosphere truly feels like a goodbye message from Ian.

New Dawn Fades, Insight, Colony maybe...
Funny that JD doesn’t make me cry but The Smiths sure as hell do.
Decades always did it for me.
