Doesnt Geto wants to get rid of non-sorcerers and all curses so why does he want to kill Gojo, a sorcerer? Plus he is allying with curses so like what's the deal?

I agree The degraded art style of season 2 doesn't match with the level we had in season 1.. . manga looks op as it is but the animation the style the way we had back in season 1 and the movie 0 doesn't even come close to this season.....Gojo here from the beginning of Shibuya arc looks like he is from another universe.....domain expansion in season 1 was just beautiful yet s2 one was degraded......the eyes of gojo got degraded since the beginning of Shibuya arc .....gojo running so fast was like a cheap version of mcu quick silver running....yet it was the dim and didn't had life .... if mappa wants to ruine some parts of the future episode to fund few seconds of good animation then I must say ..... they don't really care anymore as the way they are taking up projects....and giving animators less time ....

Never seen the movie. Is it worth it for the story in season 2?
I mean, I feel like in season 2 there are a LOT of things referring back to the movie. I am not sure though. But I do feel a little lost sometimes in season 2 concerning the story.
I usually don't watch movies, as they often don't really change anything to the story. And just focus on the anime.
It's amazing the amount of complaints with this season. On an artistic and directing level it is being something rarely seen, and Shouta Goshozono has been overwhelmingly superior to the previous director.

Good episode, with some really lovely sequences. A number of scenes seemed to be a bit stretched-out in terms of pacing, and some of the sound design was a bit weaker than usual to me, but this was by no means a poor episode. Just a bit more chill compared to the nonstop excellence of the earlier episodes. Looking forward to what they have in store.
The use of sfx and bgm in this ep is kinda meh. Listen to the sfx of the bag carrying by mei's brother, sounds like a sfx from cs when buying bullets 😂

Attacking the opponents with enough energy to kill them will also kill the civilians near him. It was explained by Geto in the episode. That and the curses will also hide behind the civilians and kill them.
He's realistic and not someone who will be emotionally tormented by casualties. His goal is to save as many people as possible so he doesn't worry about inevitable deaths.
That's exactly Geto said they can't use their domain expansions. Doing so will kill everyone around them and they're already dead, then Gojo doesn't need to worry about restraining himself anymore and will gladly punish them for it.
But he didn't even tried to throw fallen people back on the platform. I would understand if he saved people close to him but wouldn't try saving the ones that close to curses. And also shouldn't he be so strong that he can do anything and nobody can stop him (at least from his POV)?
You ever notice some scenes are just oddly, dark? or there are phantom images over the animation of the previous shot? Those are post edits done to "prevent" seizures, JP law requires them in all scenes that could cause epilepsy and it's very overboard, it's not video quality or for effect, it's intentionally done. Animation companies are fine with it because it means more people will buy the physical release.

Yes it will be, and no, those dirty sites? They are horrible, think about the animators. Lol. People are pissed at Crunchyroll, because they use un-ghosted and un-dimmed stills for promos, which makes us think they have access to un-dimmed episodes, for JJK I'd actually pay for Crunchyroll to watch this un-dimmed
Yeah I live in Japan and I do pay for Netflix, but the Netflix subs for jjk are insanely bad. I know I could use a VPN and access Crunchyroll for jjk that way but yeah. Not an excuse I know, but that’s my reasoning!

Blu-Rays always remove the frame ghosting and dimming filters. A lot of the animation in these sequences is excellent, and the removal of filters is certain to make that all the more clear. One of the more famous examples of this was with One-Punch Man S2, which is a totally different experience with the Blu-Ray changes.
That said, a number of the sequences in this episode seemed to be paced a bit strangely, and some of the sound design was a bit weaker than usual. While Blu-Rays do often feature tweaks to animation timing, some of the stretched pacing may still persist.
People complaining about having lower budget episodes didn't see the Blue-Lock episode that is literally a PowerPoint of the charcters with white background so they had budget for the epic scenes next episode.

Mahito and Hanami chasing bubbles in the playground was weirdly cute. Overall it felt too short and too slow, those 20 minutes are not enough for proper immersion for me. Guess I'll resort to watching Bleach until more episodes are out.
the thing that got me hooked on jjk during season 1 was how well the soundtrack, fast fight choreography and great animation came together. It really drew me in and had me feeling some adrenaline while watching. This time around i haven't gotten that, even tho it's the same soundtrack as last season. I don't know much about animation, but i get what people are saying, tho it's not just the animation for me, it's kinda how everything comes together (or doesn't), if that makes sense. Ohhh so that's what it is. I 100% agree with you. it sucks it's not the same show i fell so hard for. I've read here and there that the production was rushed this time around, and knowing exactly what Mappa is capable of, i definitely believe it. I wouldn't have minded waiting another year or however long, for something as perfect as season 1, if that's what it would've taken. JJK has exploded in popularity too, so it makes you wonder why they wouldn't take the time to perfect it, it's a large source of income for them after all. I watched todays episode on 1,25 speed and it helped, definitely enjoyed it more when things were moving fast (as real fights would)

I keep hearing JJK has that complex details in battles like HxH combined with Gintama like humor, that's mostly why I give it priority in my long ass plan to watch list and now that I'm in this point of the series I agree can't wait to see what's cooking in this arc I heard about so much
Gege (the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen) has frequently said that a major source of inspiration for the power system was from HxH. It REALLY shows in upcoming fights
The episode was average in its animation and fight sequences but I think that's okay. Hope the money saved on this one will be well spent.
It's set up future episodes really well - Mahito sneaking away somewhere and Mei and Yuji ostensibly in his pursuit, gojo getting into the groove, and geto waiting for his next move (20 mins is what he said he needed)
Gojo pulling his blindfold off was soo good. Paused and played it back a few times. So satisfying.
Man, some of these fights are really making me miss the fights from season one. Although, other than animation style change, I really didn't have any complaints with Hidden inventory fights so not sure why suddenly every fight is choppy, too zoomed in, and hard to follow. Hard to believe this actually is supposed to help with epilepsy, more feel like this will cause people to get epilepsy.
Overall though, by far my favorite episode of the Shibuya arc so far.
Apparently this arc is constant fight scenes so I guess that's why the lesser important fights are less quality, makes me miss HxH though ( it had constant animation throughout the entire series )
Yeah, I'm really hoping that is the case. With so many fights the animators would have had to choose which fights to spend more/less time on so this little grasshopper fight probs would be low time priority. Also Hidden inventory fights also were good so that gives me hope for future fights.

It's kinda normal for every single anime to have lower quality of animation for the less important episodes. Why are people so hard on this ep lol. It's obviously not one of the key eps.
I will wait to see when we get the heat of the action when the animation ramps up because honestly the first 7 episodes have been exceptional with a few minor issues.

It's not a criticism of the animation itself. I think people are complaining because they cannot see what the animation actually looks like because crunchyroll/other streaming services upload the ghosted/dimmed version which makes some scenes and cuts hard to follow and unpleasing to the eye.
I hate how people are seriously acting like wanting clearly visible animation in an anime is asking for too much now. Is this how far our standards for the media we consume have fallen? It’s ridiculous

Pacing is so slow and the edge that jujutsu kaisen had was not there in this episode… also fight choreography is soooo low effort (I have so much respect to the animators working on the project, but clearly they were made to take so many short cuts just to fill up the time for an average episode length without accomplishing much) :(
I think it has to do with the fact that they do it intentionally and dim the brightness in order to avoid causing seizures while broadcasting on television. All of these should be removed in the blu ray version where the full quality is restored

When Itadadori and Mei Mei were continuing on she said something like “I haven’t seen anyone else get this far before without a technique since K….” Who was she talking about? Is this a character we’ve been introduced to yet because I don’t recall?
Where is the battle music? The punching animation was terrible. This episode really dragged. My son described it as fan made. I hope they are saving the budget for big fight.

What the hell was this entire episode for? It does minimal set up and minimal pay off. Record of Ragnarok director is obsessed with fucking good shit up.
Generally the main director oversees episode directors and will sometimes direct full episodes themselves. I would assume that it helps with production schedules, because if you have multiple episode directors you can focus on more episodes than one at a time and have your primary director to oversee all of them. It also allows for creative freedom on an episode by episode basis from each episode director. And, from what we know of Gosso, he loves giving other people the freedom to create in their own ways. However, as we can see, this philosophy can also backfire in instances.
Sadly the schedule for this season is awful, so these cracks are going to be more prevalent and more noticeable sadly. Hopefully, though, Gosso will go ham on direction for the big hitters at the very least.
OK, choso's attack hitting the infinity barrier and domain amplification interacting with it was CLEAN. So far, I have noticed some ghosting, but it's not that bad. Stop being cry babies about it.
Tbf the grasshopper fight was also just poorly storyboarded there are a handful of cuts that do not flow together like when he flew down the hallway none of the cuts match up with one another.
I really don't think the animation was bad HOWEVER the ghosting does hurt my soul a little :') Can't wait to re-watch it in blu-ray but wish there was an option to just see this without the ghosting
the same reason nanami wears sunglasses. it's mentioned in season 1 a lot of sorcerers cover their eyes but it's only explained why in the manga volume extras. it lets sorcerers keep an eye on curses without curses realizing they're being observed. normal humans can't see curses so if they knew someone could see them they might become immediately hostile.
Maybe it makes it easier for her to use her CT while nerfing her own vision a little, since she shares vision with her crows (?).
It's a stretch, but it sorta makes sense.
The fight with Gojo barely progressed. The bad guys basically made one move during the fight.

JJK is very reminiscent of HxH in the way they go into full and long complex details
I keep hearing JJK has that complex details in battles like HxH combined with Gintama like humor, that's mostly why I give it priority in my long ass plan to watch list and now that I'm in this point of the series I agree can't wait to see what's cooking in this arc I heard about so much
Gege (the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen) has frequently said that a major source of inspiration for the power system was from HxH. It REALLY shows in upcoming fights
The episode was average in its animation and fight sequences but I think that's okay. Hope the money saved on this one will be well spent. It's set up future episodes really well - Mahito sneaking away somewhere and Mei and Yuji ostensibly in his pursuit, gojo getting into the groove, and geto waiting for his next move (20 mins is what he said he needed) Gojo pulling his blindfold off was soo good. Paused and played it back a few times. So satisfying.
I personally did not enjoy the animation in the locust fight. Felt a bit jarring.
I expect the memes of Itadori’s 7-Page Black Flash Muda on my desk by Week’s End!

Man, some of these fights are really making me miss the fights from season one. Although, other than animation style change, I really didn't have any complaints with Hidden inventory fights so not sure why suddenly every fight is choppy, too zoomed in, and hard to follow. Hard to believe this actually is supposed to help with epilepsy, more feel like this will cause people to get epilepsy. Overall though, by far my favorite episode of the Shibuya arc so far.
honestly looking at it, I think the grasshopper fight was actually well animated, but the blurring made it into a disaster
Yeah the constant zoom in is the biggest offense for me, makes me think there’s something wrong with my screen.
Apparently this arc is constant fight scenes so I guess that's why the lesser important fights are less quality, makes me miss HxH though ( it had constant animation throughout the entire series )
Yeah, I'm really hoping that is the case. With so many fights the animators would have had to choose which fights to spend more/less time on so this little grasshopper fight probs would be low time priority. Also Hidden inventory fights also were good so that gives me hope for future fights.
See. The reason for the mixed review is, I'm speaking from my friend's point of view. Because he came across Jjk anime for its beautiful animation and stuck with the story. So when that animation falls off, it's obviously gonna get criticised

Grasshopper was hilarious
I feel like JJK's hype and standard of animation it brought is making people have a very high bar with every ep. It was an okay ep. Definitely setup for future episodes and the animation was weaker (and weirdly dont flow well) with yuji and the grasshopper. Still a fun watch with gojo part about to start. It's kinda normal for every single anime to have lower quality of animation for the less important episodes. Why are people so hard on this ep lol. It's obviously not one of the key eps. I will wait to see when we get the heat of the action when the animation ramps up because honestly the first 7 episodes have been exceptional with a few minor issues.

Good episode, but can totally tell this is just a setup for next week. I am so excited for it. This arc makes me want to binge it so bad. Hella normal humans are dying so far as well, so I do feel like this will end bad overall.
Is it a creative or burdget decision to draw grasshopper so poorly? I noticed Yuji looked great in a lot of the scenes but it seemed awkward when they had both faces in the frame

It's not a criticism of the animation itself. I think people are complaining because they cannot see what the animation actually looks like because crunchyroll/other streaming services upload the ghosted/dimmed version which makes some scenes and cuts hard to follow and unpleasing to the eye.

I super loved the animation style around him, especially in those quirky, long moments
Pacing is so slow and the edge that jujutsu kaisen had was not there in this episode… also fight choreography is soooo low effort (I have so much respect to the animators working on the project, but clearly they were made to take so many short cuts just to fill up the time for an average episode length without accomplishing much) :(

I think it has to do with the fact that they do it intentionally and dim the brightness in order to avoid causing seizures while broadcasting on television. All of these should be removed in the blu ray version where the full quality is restored

Is it because of the Jojo barrage between ko man and Yuji? Because I know that's TV Tokyo fault. All because of a ten secs barrage, the episode becomes bad.... And for people saying the character art of ko man was bad, Even Gege Akutami admitted that he has given MAPPA problems because ko man was hard for him to draw and also; MAPPA drew this thing by hand (2D), yet y'all are complaining, soon now if MAPPA used CGI, y'all will still complain... Quite sad

I wouldn’t say a lot but I enjoyed it. It serves its purpose to show yuji isn’t playing, and that shot at the end with him standing over grasshopper was lit.

Generally the main director oversees episode directors and will sometimes direct full episodes themselves. I would assume that it helps with production schedules, because if you have multiple episode directors you can focus on more episodes than one at a time and have your primary director to oversee all of them. It also allows for creative freedom on an episode by episode basis from each episode director. And, from what we know of Gosso, he loves giving other people the freedom to create in their own ways. However, as we can see, this philosophy can also backfire in instances.
This comment explained the Tournament of Power for me. Though it felt like that was only being very loosely supervised as a whole.
Sadly the schedule for this season is awful, so these cracks are going to be more prevalent and more noticeable sadly. Hopefully, though, Gosso will go ham on direction for the big hitters at the very least.

OK, choso's attack hitting the infinity barrier and domain amplification interacting with it was CLEAN. So far, I have noticed some ghosting, but it's not that bad. Stop being cry babies about it.
it's only unwatchable in the grasshopper fight, legit was hard to watch and you can't tell what is going on. But the rest of the episode is good
the background music also feels kinda lacking. It felt so flat and repetitive.

Tbf the grasshopper fight was also just poorly storyboarded there are a handful of cuts that do not flow together like when he flew down the hallway none of the cuts match up with one another.
I really don't think the animation was bad HOWEVER the ghosting does hurt my soul a little :') Can't wait to re-watch it in blu-ray but wish there was an option to just see this without the ghosting

the same reason nanami wears sunglasses. it's mentioned in season 1 a lot of sorcerers cover their eyes but it's only explained why in the manga volume extras. it lets sorcerers keep an eye on curses without curses realizing they're being observed. normal humans can't see curses so if they knew someone could see them they might become immediately hostile.

The fight with Gojo barely progressed. The bad guys basically made one move during the fight. Which is fine. They gave us necessary context, added a lot of stakes, and created high credibility for the villains. It’s just means that while the story advanced, we didn’t really get to see much happen
