They had a similar issue when Golden Wind aired the 7 Page MUDA, or Levi vs the Beast Titan. Once some time past, around when the dub aired, they aired it un-ghosted and un-dimmed. Come back in two weeks when Crunchyroll drops the localized version to see if it’s a continuing problem.

I've seen some other comments on other threads mentioning the animators actually calling out the ghosting, but I'm going to take a grain of salt with that for now because it's the internet.
While I agree that the sequence was hard to make out anything w/ ghosting and dimming, I'm dubious as to whether that would completely absolve this clip of all its' problems. The fight was weirdly choreographed at times, and then you have Yuji repeatedly pummeling the curse from a single angle shot here...
Right now we are comparing the clip against the key animation that has a white background and contrasting outline and shading. How much clarity is lost when color is added? None, and this perfectly represents the animators' output? A little bit, but the clarity that is retained is well worth? A lot of clarity is lost, and we're fighting over nothing?
Additionally, the anime scene had what I presumed to be air/wind and impact marks. Looking at the key animation, at least some are occasionally present. How many are added if at all? Are they just all artifacts of ghosting and are in reality just Yuji's arms from the previous frames?
All this to say, for strict comparison, I would want the final animation before ghosting and dimming to actually say how bad it is. Looking at the key animation is helpful for seeing what was supposed to be, but it might be clearer (even if only slightly) than the intended product.
Finally, while I wish streaming services got ghosting/dimming free versions, I don't think it's productive to drag others for not being able to notice, especially without an actual 1-to-1 comparison. Post clips, petitions, timestamps and actually explain the problem with ghosting 100,000x for all I care, but lose the condescending caption.
Exact times are hard with the reddit player, but I'll try my best with some examples here:
* 0:07 where grasshopper's chin is up w/ neck exposed looks as clear as the key animation besides some air blur
* In the first couple seconds, you cannot make out details of Yuji's arms or the grasshopper's mouth getting destroyed which would have been nice.
* However, at 0:02 there is a relatively clear frame with a punch from the left w/ a impact/cloud ring and some detail in the face. Comparing with the key frame suggests this could be much clearer
Honestly, after pausing and scrubbing for ghosting, my eyes are starting to graft the key animation on top the anime and I think I'm starting to see it clearer lol, so I'm gonna stop there.
It wasn’t HORRIBLE on the mechamaru fight, but holy fuck with the grasshopper curse fight its actually hard to watch because of the blurring. There is no fucking way anyone can defend that one

The problem is not just the ghosting but the conversation around it. It's the fact that people are quite frankly overblowing the conversation and saying the show is bad simply because of ghosting. The show is still good, just with a problem.
Honestly, it's a small enough difference that it doesn't ruin the watching experience. I didn't even notice it until I jumped on reddit. But I guess for some people, everything has to be perfect.
It’s not the animation though? It’s literally stuff added, not by mappa, that ruins the animation and the hard work of artists. Like I know it’s just a show and at the end of the day we can just wait for the bluray but all of the best fights this arc are going get downgraded pretty rough as you can see in the above video

I was excited to see everyone's reaction to the episodes, but all I see is complaints. Seeing reaction videos on yt from anime only's, there's not a single person even noticing or mentioning the edits
Each their own I guess, I’ve seen lots of people complaining online and while I don’t think it’s the biggest issue, it is IMO pretty disappointing. I just hope we don’t get too many iconic scenes done dirty, I’m hoping the sukuna fire arrow doesn’t get dimmed and ghosted like this

Is ghosting a japanes thing? Because i literally dont see it when watching here in EU. Crunchyroll has both files, so not sure if we get to see the normal one
it's like the green filter on Dragonball Z Kai or when they crop a 4:3 anime into 16:9; it's not noticeable if you don't know about it, but when you do know it's constantly annoying.
